KATHLEEN P. MCKENZIE
AVILTON- Kathleen P. McKenzie, 82, of 135 McKenzie Road, Lonaconing (Avilton), died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at her residence.
Born Dec. 19, 1916, in Frostburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Robeson) Dishong. She was a member of Old St. Ann's Catholic Shrine and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Howard I. McKenzie; a daughter, Gladys Wilhelm and husband, Larry, Lonaconing; two sisters, Betty Showalter and husband, Fred, and Helen Holler, all of Salisbury, Pa.; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Catholic Prayer Service will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. William Moody officiating.
Interment will be in St. Ann's cemetery.
MARY E. MCKENZIE
FROSTBURG - Mary Elizabeth McKenzie, age 73, of 2832 Pocahontas Road, Frostburg, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 1, 1924, in Finzel, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Minnie (McKenzie) Caton. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur McKenzie, on Jan. 25, 1990.
Mrs. McKenzie was retired from the housekeeping department of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, and formerly worked at the Celanese Fibers Corporation. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg.
Surviving are four brothers, Clarence Caton, Frostburg, Anthony Caton, Junction City, Ohio, Lawrence Caton, Lancaster, Ohio, and Stanley Caton, Oldtown; four sisters, Leona Kitis, Finzel, Irene Ramhoff, Finzel, Isabel Minick, Frostburg, and May McKenzie, Finzel; one aunt, Mabel McKenzie Cutter, Finzel; and one uncle, Corbett McKenzie, Finzel; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Winners, Console, and Betty McKenzie, Finzel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Christian Wake service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Moody as celebrant. Interment will be in the Finzel cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Kitis, Richard Ramhoff, Joseph Minick, Anthony McKenzie, Kenneth Caton and David Caton.
RALPH T. MCKENZIE
FROSTBURG - Ralph Thomas McKenzie, age 69, of 2284 Old Frostburg Road, Garrett County, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at his residence.
Born Aug. 12, 1929, in Garrett County, he was the son of the late Thomas P. and Nellie C. (Garlitz) McKenzie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother.
Mr. McKenzie was a retired supervisor of the Garrett County Roads Department, Grantsville Shop. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, and was an avid hunter.
Surviving are his wife, Geneva (Lamb) McKenzie; four daughters, Nellie P. McKenzie, Frostburg, Hilda J. Knight, and husband, R.J., Valley Center, Calif., Kim C. Bell and Ella Foutz, both of Frostburg; one son, Mark P.H. McKenzie and wife, Chrystle, Cumberland; six brothers, Alfred McKenzie and wife, Carlene, Zihlman, Lafe McKenzie, David McKenzie and wife, Doris, Regis McKenzie and wife, Bonita, Roger McKenzie and wife, Brenda, and Olin McKenzie and wife, Judy, all of Frostburg; four sisters, Thelma Iser and husband, Jim, McCoole, Martha Faidley, LaVale, Helen Resh and husband, Blaine, Grantsville, and Ora Keister and husband, Rae, Frostburg; four loving grandchildren, Arissa Kenner, John Foutz III, Stephanie Foutz, all of Frostburg, and Samantha McKenzie, Cumberland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

RAYMOND C. MCKENZIE
RAVENNA, Ohio - Raymond C. McKenzie, 81, of Ravenna, formerly of Meyersdale, Pa., died March 23, 1998, in Ravenna.
Born Sept. 1, 1916, in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Joshua and Amanda (Arkley) McKenzie.
He is survived by his wife, the former Pearl L. Shockey; and daughter, Darlene E. McKenzie, Ravenna. He also is survived by a sister, Velma Werner, Finzel, Md.
Mr. McKenzie was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a machine repairman.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Meyersdale (Pocahontas), with Father Bernard L. White officiating.
Interment will be in Finzel cemetery, Finzel, Md.
ALVERTA N. MEADE
CUMBERLAND - Alverta Naomi Meade, 62, of 438 Goethe St., Cumberland, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 4, 1936, in Ridgeley, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Henson Bias Woods and the late Mary Helen (Davis) Woods. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Dody" Woods; and three sisters, Fannie P. Woods, Louise Harris and Kathryn Means.
Mrs. Meade was a retired switchboard operator for Allegany College, where she worked for 22 years.
Surviving are her husband, Reginald Meade, Cumberland; three sons, Ryan E. Woods, Cumberland, Charles R. Woods and Kevin W. Woods; a daughter, Lea R. Woods, Cumberland; a brother, James R. Woods and wife Frances, Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Emma Johnson, St. Louis, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Meade's request was that she be cremated at the Cumberland Crematory, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.
Interment of her ashes will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
STELLA MEADE
CUMBERLAND - Stella Meade, 51, of Glenn Street, Cumberland, departed this life on Friday, March 20, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 30, 1946, in Cumberland, the daughter of the late Helen V. Meade.
She is survived by one son, Quentin Meade, wife Amy, and granddaughter, Jerrica Meade, Cumberland; a close and special friend, Lawrence Lewis Sr.; five sisters, Angela Meade-Ray, Roxanne Meade-Smith, Erma Meade and Shawn Meade, all of Hartford, Conn., and Joyce Bryant, Rochester, N.Y.; four brothers, Joseph Meade, Clearwater, Fla., David Meade, Cumberland, Larry Meade, Hartford, Michael Meade, Baltimore; five uncles; two aunts; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. Prayer services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Father Milton A. Hipsley officiating.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Allen Zapf, Randy DeVore, Tommy Evix, Danny Evix, Richard Jesse Jr. and Lawrence Lewis Jr.
DR. GILCIN F. MEADORS III
WINCHESTER, Va. - Dr. Gilcin F. Meadors III, of Winchester, formerly of Frostburg, Md., died suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born April 24, 1944, in Jackson, Miss., he was the son of the late Dr. Gilcin F. Meadors II and Catherine (Hilton) Meadors.
Dr. Meadors earned his bachelor's degree at Brown University, Rhode Island, and received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York City, N.Y. He was in private practice with his father in Oakland, Md., and Frederick, Md., and was employed by Frostburg Community Hospital, Frostburg.
Dr. Meadors was a retired Army Lt. Col. The highlight of his career was in vaccine research for Rift Valley Fever. He was doing medical vaccine research on government contract at Fort Dietrick.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon (Wiebrecht) Meadors; two daughters, Catherine Meadors, Alexandria, and Justine Meadors, at home; three brothers, Will Meadors, Frederick, Carson Meadors, of Maryland, and Jay Meadors, of North Carolina. His in-laws are James and Eleanor Wiebrecht, Frostburg.
The body will be cremated. There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the church of the donor's choice.
