LEO WILSON
FROSTBURG - Leo Wilson, 86, formerly of Bedford Street, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born July 9, 1911, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Bruce Wilson and Bertha S. (Schaeffer) Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was the retired owner and operator of the Bruce Wilson Construction Co.; a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher; a member of Cumberland BPO Elk Lodge 63, Potomac Lodge 100 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies of Cumberland, and Ali Ghan Shrine Temple; and an active member of the Ali Ghan Band. He served as an active member on many committees and projects for the Temple.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mary B. "Bernice" Wilson; one daughter, Susan Scott Riley and husband Dean, Terra Alta, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Leissa L. Riley, Williamsport, Amy C. Schiever and husband David, Hagerstown, and Bruce Wilson Riley, Columbia; four great-grandchildren, Lauryn, Connor, Dalton and Wyatt; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 1601 Frederick St., Cumberland, on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Yelovich and the Rev. Lee A. McDaniel officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the church after 1 p.m. on Saturday to be with the family.
Potomac Lodge 100 AF & AM will hold memorial services at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Cumberland Lodge BPO Elk 63 will hold memorial services at the funeral home on Friday at 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Wilson Riley, David Schiever, George DeHaven Jr., Gary Beachy, Roger Reynolds and William Kight.
Ali Ghan Band members and unit head officers and representatives will serve as honorary pallbearers.

CAROLYN L. WILT
OAKLAND - Carolyn Lambert Wilt, 69, of Oakland, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born April 10, 1929, in Parsons, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Gordon G. Lambert and Rella (Harper) Lambert.
Mrs. Wilt received a BA degree in French, English and music education from Davis and Elkins College. She was a three-time Fulbright scholar to Italy and was awarded a master's degree from Columbia University Teachers College in music and music education. She was a doctoral candidate in voice at Southern Illinois University, Grove City College, and Western Carolina and was nearing completion of a doctorate at West Virginia University.
She taught at Southern Illinois University and in the Garrett County school system since 1964. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and attended the Mountain Top Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Kristiann H.W. Germain, Jonesborough, Tenn.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. Paul's Untied Methodist Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Harrison, the Rev. Ann Harrison and Jean Cusack officiating.
Interment will be in the Parsons cemetery, Parsons, W.Va., Friday at 2 p.m.

CHARLES "BUDDY" WILT SR.
GRANTSVILLE - Charles Loman "Buddy" Wilt Sr., 62, of Bear Hill Road, Jennings, died Monday, July 27, 1998, at his home.
Born July 4, 1936, on Bear Hill Road, Jennings, he was the son of the late Loman Charles and Lula Belle (Hoover) Wilt. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Wilt; and two half-brothers, Frank Hay and Glen Hay.
Mr. Wilt was a laborer with Laborers Local 616, and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-57.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Jean (Bittner) Wilt; seven children, Ronald Wilt Sr., Dwayne Wilt, Barbara Spiker, Charles Wilt Jr., Timothy Wilt, Michael W. Wilt, all of Grantsville, William Wilt, Boonsboro; nine grantchildren, John Wilt, Wendy Wilt, Ronald Wilt Jr., Charles L. Wilt, Brian Spiker, Keith Spiker, Trisha Wilt, Krystal Durst and Kelsey Durst; two step-grandchildren, Jason Wilt and Kristi Durst; one great-grandson, Brandon Wilt; two brothers, Calvin Wilt and Fay Wilt, both of Grantsville; five sisters, Shirlene Bittinger and Annabelle Bittinger, both of Boynton, Pa., Betty Jane Beachy and Marie Fazenbaker, both of Grantsville, Alverta Stanton, Bittinger; two half-brothers, Paul Hay, Meyersdale, Pa., Robert Hay, Grantsville; and two half-sisters, Marietta Hay, Salisbury, Pa., and Emma Hay, Hooversville, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ross Glotfelty officiating. Interment will be in Bittinger cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronald, Dwayne, Charles Jr., Timothy, William and Michael Wilt, all sons of Charles.
CLAIR "NOOK" WILT
GRANTSVILLE - Clair E. "Nook" Wilt, 67, of 16187 Bittinger Road, Grantsville, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 12, 1930, in Jennings, he was a son of the late Ray J. and Gladys (Palmer) Wilt and was preceded in death by a sister, Hattie "Pat" Housel.
Mr. Wilt was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Mountain Top Wagon Train Association.
Survivors include his wife, Waunita (Gilpin) Wilt; two sons, Elmer "Smokey" Wilt, Swanton, Steve Wilt, Grantsville; two daughters, Wanda Warnick, Grantsville, Karen "Cindy" McCrobie, McHenry; four brothers, Raymond, Robert L. and Willard R. "Jake" Wilt, all of Grantsville, Willard E. "Butch" Wilt, Hagerstown; two sisters, Frances Green, Bedford, Pa., Phyllis Donahue, Grantsville; eight grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Warnick, Kristi Durst, Jason and Erica Wilt, Jeremiah Wilt, Ariana Wilt, Matia McCrobie; and three great-grandchildren, Aaron, Scott and Jared Warnick.

DORIS JEAN WILT
CUMBERLAND - Doris Jean Wilt, 58, of 1502-C Oldtowne Manor, Cumberland, died Monday, April 6, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born July 2, 1939, in Kessel, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Sanford Simmons and the late Elsie (Pratt) Simmons.
Mrs. Wilt was a former employee of the Easy-Way Inn. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Cumberland Outdoor Club, Ladies Auxiliary Goodfellowship Club, past member of Ladies Auxiliary Loyal Order of the Moose #271, a member of F.O.E. #245 Cumberland Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving are a husband, James L. Wilt, Cumberland; a son, Dawn Bradfield and wife, Peggy, Simpsonville, S.C.; a daughter, Elana McKenzie and husband, Mac, Asheville, N.C.; two stepsons, Brad Wilt and wife, Brenda, Prescott Valley, Ariz., and William Wilt and wife, Sandy, Oracle, Ariz; two brothers, Donald Simmons, Cumberland, and Lloyd Simmons, Summerville, S.C.; four sisters, Ruby Pratt, Moorefield, W.Va., Burnell Turner, Moorefield, Ramona Boswell, Moorefield, and Kay Hite, Cumberland; and a special friend and niece, Beverly Kyle, Petersburg, W.Va.
Mrs. Wilt requested that she be cremated at the Cumberland Crematory, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.
A memorial service and spreading of the ashes will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 1 p.m. at Mount Storm Lake. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

REVEREND MAMIE WILT
SWANTON - The Rev. Mamie V. Wilt, 65, of Glendale Road, Swanton, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, at the home of her daughter, Barbara Heilig, Swanton.
Born April 17, 1933, in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late James and Edith (Brant) Bowman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Wilt Sr., in 1978.
She was a retired teacher's assistant for the Garrett County Board of Education and worked for 28 years. Her last and longest assignment was at the Broadford Elementary School, Oakland. She was a graduate of the Oakland High School, Class of 1951.
From 1991 to 1996 she served as pastor at the Full Gospel Revival Center, Loch Lynn, and recently attended the Glendale Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Barbara A. Heilig, Brenda K. Pike, Beverly S. Haines and Bonnie L. Miller, all of Swanton; three sons, Lawrence E. Wilt Jr., Terra Alta, W.Va., George A. Wilt, Mountain Lake Park, and Robert W. Wilt, Oakland; one sister, Betty J. Taylor, Williamsport; one brother, Charles S. McCrobie, Oakland; and 11 grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul D. Goldizen officiating.
Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
