COLLEEN M. AARON
BALTIMORE - Colleen Mullaney Aaron, 66, formerly of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997, at the St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, Baltimore, where she had been a resident for 30 years.
Born June 21, 1931, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Mullaney. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Aaron; one brother, Thomas B. Mullaney II; and one nephew, Bill Hill.
Surviving are five brothers, Edward Mullaney, Cumberland, John, Dennis, Michael, and Charles Mullaney, all of Baltimore; two sisters, Mary Pat Hill and Margaret Hook, both of Cumberland; 20 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends were received at the Ambrose Funeral Home, Baltimore, on Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Interment was in the New Cathedral cemetery on Friday, Oct. 24, 1997.
JANET W. DEWITT
OAKLAND - Janet W. DeWitt, 58, of Oakland, died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born May 23, 1939, in Brookside, W.Va., she was a daughter of Wilma B. Waybright, of Aurora, W.Va., and the late Noah W. Waybright.
Mrs. DeWitt was a secretary in the financial department of the Garrett County Board of Education. She was a member of the Brookside Church of the Brethren.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Orval "Buck" DeWitt; four brothers, Glenn E. Waybright, Leesburg, Fla., Wendell N. Waybright, N. Attleboro, Mass., Stanley M. Waybright and Delbert N. Waybright, both of Aurora; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Brookside Church of the Brethren on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Teets officiating.
Interment will be in the Eglon cemetery.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Brookside Church of the Brethren.
WARD E. BOWSER
FROSTBURG - Ward E. Bowser, 75, of 70 Linden St., Frostburg, died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997, at his home.
Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Salisbury, Pa., he was the son of the late Alvin R. and Verna (Handwerk) Bowser.
Mr. Bowser was retired from the Celanese Corporation. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Farrady Post No. 24, Frostburg, and the VFW Post No. 8825, Salisbury, Pa.
Surviving are one sister, Nellie Wright, Eckhart; one brother, John A. Bowser and wife Charlene, Alexandria, Va.; two nieces; and one nephew.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in Salisbury cemetery, Salisbury, Pa.
Graveside military honors will be accorded by American Legion Farrady Post No. 24.

ELMER W. DEWITT
CRELLIN - Elmer Willard DeWitt, 80, of 40 Sunshine Lane, Crellin, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at his home.
Born Feb. 28, 1917, in Crellin, he was the son of the late John T. DeWitt and Rebecca (Thomas) DeWitt. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Hollis) DeWitt, in 1996; four sisters; one brother; and one grandson.
Mr. DeWitt was retired from Clem Teets Oil Company. He was a member of Camp No. 11 Woodmen of the World, and attended the Crellin United Brethren Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Gwen McBee and Rhea Cosette Harman, both of Oakland; one son, Willard Allan DeWitt, Terra Alta, W.Va.; one sister, Evelyn Clark, Crellin; three grandchildren, Gwen Evans, Allison White, and Jarrod White.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Crellin United Brethren Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Mudge and the Rev. Charles Teets officiating.
Interment will be in the Hoyes cemetery.
Friends may call at the church one-half hour prior to the service.

GLENN D. KERR
CUMBERLAND - Glenn D. Kerr, 73, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 28, 1924, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Thomas and Effie (Adkins) Kerr. He also was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and two granddaughters.
Mr. Kerr was a former employee of the Celanese Corporation. He served during World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Biloxi. He was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (Dawson) Kerr; one son, Stephen E. Kerr and wife Sarah; one daughter, Victoria S. Kerr; one grandson, William E. Kerr, all of Cumberland; one brother, John E. "Jack" Kerr and wife Hazel, Frostburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna and the Rev. Adam E. Grim officiating.
Committal services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
The family requests contributions be made to the Centre Street United Methodist Church.
DONALD H. FRATZ
ACCIDENT - Donald Henry Fratz, 67, of 824 Accident-Bittinger Road, Accident, and also Deep Creek Lake, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born May 3, 1930, in Accident, he was a son of the late Walter H. and Anna V. (Bittinger) Fratz.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Wright; and two brothers, Robert and Wayne Fratz.
Mr. Fratz was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, and was president of W.H. Fratz Inc. He was a member of the Garrett County Democrat Club and was currently serving his fourth term as chairman of the Democrat State Central Committee. He was a past president and currently secretary-treasurer of the Friendsville Rotary Club, served on the Garrett County Salary and Wage Committee, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Mary (Savage) Fratz, five sons, D. Douglas Fratz, Gaithersburg, Jeffrey Fratz, Hagerstown, Michael Fratz and Shawn Fratz, both of McHenry, and Steven Fratz, Accident; two daughters, Julie Fratz-Orr, Oakland, and Lisa Bonar, Accident; two brothers, Allen Fratz and Gary Fratz, both of Accident; three sisters, June Wilt, Cumberland, Wilma Edwards, McHenry, and Martha Leese, Frostburg; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wilfred Karsten officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Wilt Jr., Delbert Leese Jr., Greg Fratz, Dwayne Fratz, Seth Fratz, and Dennis Savage. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Fratz, Greg Oester, Darrell Savage, and Rick Bond.
Military graveside honors will be accorded by Grantsville Post No. 214, American Legion.
