PATSY E. DENTINGER JR.
CUMBERLAND - Patsy Eugene Dentinger Jr., 37, of Cumberland, died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Sept. 27, 1960, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Patsy E. Dentinger Sr. and Mary Catherine (Eaton) Dentinger.

Mr. Dentinger was a salesman for Gatling's Auto Parts Store, Cumberland. He attended the Cumberland Church of God.

Surviving are his wife, Mary F. (DiGilarmo) Dentinger; three daughters, Amanda Lynn, Cumberland, Mary Beth Dentinger, and Ashley J. Dentinger, both at home; one brother, Richard E. Dentinger and wife Melinda, Cumberland; four sisters, Shirley A. Kline and husband Dennis, Cresaptown, Patsy A. McMannis and husband David, Cumberland, Marilyn A. Ross and husband Roy, Wiley Ford, W.Va., and Diana L. Dentinger, Cumberland; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Donald D. Fulton officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

LOUISE V. SITES CESSNA
CUMBERLAND - Louise V. Sites Cessna, 89, formerly of Booth Towers, Cumberland, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 25, 1907, in Elkins, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late W.C. Collins and Mary (Rader) Collins. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Arthur L. Sites and Allen L. Cessna; one son, Paul; and one sister, Minerva Bish.

Mrs. Cessna was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, David P. Sites, Cash Valley Road, LaVale, and George W. Sites, Cresaptown; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, 230 Baltimore Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J.W. Lancaster officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

ANN BUTLER GRINDLE
WESTERNPORT - Ann Butler Grindle, 86, of 323 Vine St., Westernport, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997 in Charleston, W.Va.
She was born in Piedmont, W.Va., on Sept. 25, 1911, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Butler, Sr., and the late Winnie Rose (Smith) Butler.

She was a homemaker and formerly had worked at Piedmont Grocery. Mrs. Grindle was a Grey Lady for the Red Cross at Potomac Valley Hospital. She also was a supply pastor for the United Methodist Church, Romney District. She was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, where she taught Sunday School for 50 years to the Susannah Wesley Bible Class and the Messengers Bible Study. She also was the author of two volumes of poetry.

The last member of her immediate family, Mrs. Grindle was preceded in death by her husband John E. Grindle, Sr., and her son, John E. Grindle., Jr.

She is survived by two daughters, Joanna Shaw, Westernport, and Faith Bailey, Charleston; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett officiating.

Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimers Foundation or to the Trinity United Methodist Church.

CONSTANCE D. GOEBEL
FROSTBURG - Constance D. "Connie" Goebel, 80, of 25 Centennial St., Frostburg, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at her home.
Born Jan. 28, 1917, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Agnes (Arnold) McGuire. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Goebel, on Nov. 11, 1983.

Mrs. Goebel and her late husband owned and operated Goebel's Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church, was a charter member of Soroptimist Club of Frostburg, and was active until last year. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mountain Chapter 15, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 24. She was a former member of Maplehurst Country Club, and Oakland Country Club, where she thoroughly enjoyed playing golf.

Surviving are one son, Jim Goebel and wife Susan, Arnold; one daughter, Marie Alsop and husband Bill, Morgantown, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Brian Goebel, Tracy Goebel, Megan Alsop and Ryan Alsop; two sisters, Agnes Tierney, Waco, Texas, and Marguerite Hughes and husband Bill, Frostburg; and a special friend, Tom Poland, Keyser, W.Va..

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Soroptimist Club of Frostburg will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George A. Aist officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or Frostburg United Methodist Church.

ERIN LYNN BRADY
GRAYSLAKE, Ill. - Erin Lynn Brady, 21, died on Sunday, March 30, 1997, in Grayslake.
Born Feb. 20, 1976, in Cumberland, Md., she had made her home in Grayslake for the past 10 years.

She was a graduate of Grayslake High School Class of 1994. Erin was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church, Grayslake, and a student teacher employed with Peppermint Stick Pre-School, Grayslake.

Surviving are her parents, Michael F. and Barbara A. (Curtis) Brady; one brother, Michael J., attending West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William P. Brady Sr., Cumberland, Md.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William J. Curtis, Rochester, N.Y.; and her fiancee, Mark Sneyd, Grayslake.

Mass of Resurrection was celebrated at the St. Gilbert Catholic Church, Grayslake, with the Rev. Robert Beaven, pastor, as celebrant.

Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake.

Interment was at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville.

ROBERT B. KNIERIEM SR.
CUMBERLAND - Robert Brooke Knieriem Sr., 71, of Cumberland, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born May 23, 1926, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John Peter and Lydia (Arnold) Knieriem. He also was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Mr. Knieriem was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from PPG works 7. He was a member of the Haystack Mountain Sportsman Club and former president of the LaVale Swim Club.

Surviving are his wife, Almeda C. (Beck) Knieriem; three sons, R. Brooke Knieriem and wife Mary Ann, Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, J. Matthew Knieriem, LaVale, and Christopher T. Knieriem and wife Barbara, Solomon Island; one daughter, Mary Beth Miller and husband Paul, LaVale; three sisters, Kathryn Hixon, Mary E. Weimer, and Martha McNeil and husband Lloyd, all of Cumberland; and nine grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 9 p.m. with Father Milton A. Hipsley officiating. At Mr. Knieriem's request, he will be cremated.

The family requests that contributions be made to the Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.

FATHER WILLIAM A. CHAMBERLAIN JR.
FROSTBURG - Father William A. Chamberlain Jr., 94, of 100 Honeysuckle Lane, Frostburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Sept. 23, 1903, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of the late William A. Chamberlain Sr. and Bertha May (Kahlert) Chamberlain.

Father Chamberlain served in Episcopal parishes and missions in Pittsburgh, Albany, Northwest Pennsylvania and Long Island.

He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Lonaconing, and St. John's Episcopal Church, Frostburg. He was a member and past high priest of Masonic Avalon Lodge 657 AF&AM; and Royal Arch Chapter 286, Belleview, Pa.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine (Schulz) Chamberlain; one daughter, Susan Mosher, Frostburg; and two granddaughters, Sarah and Rebecca Mosher, both of Frostburg.

There will be no visitation.

A Memorial Eucharist will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Lonaconing, on Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Leslie R. Miles officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 6 St. Peters Place, Lonaconing, MD 21539.

The Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, is in charge of the arrangements.
