MARY H. FAHEY
HAGERSTOWN - Mary Helen Fahey, 78, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, July 26, 1997, at her home.
Born Dec. 8, 1918, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Paul Lawrence and Helen M. Hogan Manthiey. She also was preceded in death by her husband Leo Charles Fahey, on Jan. 20, 1984.

Mrs. Fahey was graduated from the St. Mary's Catholic School, Cumberland, and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a member of the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211 Auxiliary.

Surviving are four daughters, Helen M. Bussard, Kannapolis, N.C., Mary C. Stewart, Bryan, Texas, Cecelia A. Fahey, Hagerstown, and Patricia L. Wetzel, Funkstown; one son, Thomas P. Fahey, Hagerstown; one brother John Manthiey, Dundalk; one sister, Pauline Yeagen, Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hagerstown, on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. George A. Limmer as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

ARNOLD H. DAWSON
CUMBERLAND - Arnold H. Dawson, 76, of Cumberland, died Monday, March 17, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 28, 1920, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Daniel McKinley Dawson and Stella (Umstot) Dawson. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Clara M. (Hershberger) Dawson in 1988; and his stepmother, Anna (Marteney) Dawson.

Mr. Dawson was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a foreman for the Queen City Brewery, and retired from the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 245, where he was a custodian. He was Methodist by faith, and was a member of the FOE, Aerie 245.

Surviving are his son, Greg Bosley, Catonsville; one sister, Alice Resh, Cumberland; and two brothers, Russell Dawson and Herbert Dawson, both of Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, March 20, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Gary W. Trail officiating.

Interment will be in Zion Memorial Park.

LURA E. BREESE
MORRISON, Colo. - Lura E. Breese, 97, of Morrison, formerly of Cumberland, died Monday, Sept. 15, 1997, at Bearcreek Nursing Center, Morrison.
Born May 13, 1900, in Ellerslie, she was the daughter of the late Harry I. and Lucinda (Lowery) Lowery. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank W. Burkett; her second husband, E. Floyd Breese; one sister, Sara V. Lowery; and one step-daughter, Wilovene Griffith.

Mrs. Breese was a homemaker. She was a member of Redeemer United Church of Christ, Ellerslie; McKinley Chapter #12 Order of the Eastern Star; Ladies Auxiliary of Brotherhood of Trainmen; Ladies Auxiliary of Brotherhood of Engineers.

Surviving are one daughter, Jean Patton, Littleton, Colo.; one son, Robert F. Burkett, Altoona, Pa.; one stepson, Gerald Breese, Boynton Beach, Fla.; four stepdaughters, Ruth Wentling, Bedford, Pa., Cartha Lowery, Bedford, Pa.; Audrey Blubaugh and Marketta Ryan, both of Cumberland; one brother, John C. Lowery, Englewood, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ruth S. Kershner officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

VALENTINA J. JACKSON
FROSTBURG - Valentina J. Jackson, 55, of Bladensburg, died suddenly at the home of her mother, Betty Green, in Frostburg, on Friday, July 18, 1997.
Born February 4, 1942, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of Betty (Cole) Green and the late Robert Ball. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Russell T. Jackson, on July 27, 1996.

Mrs. Jackson was retired as a program analyst for Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She was salutatorian of her 1960 Beall High School, Frostburg, graduating class. She was a member of the National Honor Society. She received her Bachelor's degree from Morgan State University. She had written and published poetry.

In addition to her mother, surviving are one daughter, Rochelle E. Jackson, at home; one brother, Robert L. Ball, LaVale; and her stepfather, James F. Green, Frostburg.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

FRANCES E. CANUPP
CUMBERLAND - Frances Ellen (Coleman) Lamm Canupp, 73, of Cumberland Chateau, formerly of Baltimore, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 21, 1924, in Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Martha Ellen (Gaines) Coleman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ira James Canupp; two sisters, Ruby Walters and Irene Coleman; and three brothers, Lawrence Coleman, Jim Coleman and John Coleman.

Mrs. Canupp was employed by the Western Electric Company in Baltimore.

Surviving are one daughter, Shirley Ann Lamm, Baltimore; two sons, Dr. William Lamm and wife Bea, Cumberland, and Pastor Ronald W. Lamm and wife Vicki, Baltimore; one sister, Rosalie Collins, Texas; one brother, G.B. Coleman, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Dana Michele Lamm, Elizabeth Ellen Lamm and Jordan Alexander Ford Lamm.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with her son, Pastor Ronald W. Lamm, officiating.

Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

The family requests contributions be made to Save the Angels Fund at St. John Neumann School or to the South Cumberland Library.

HARRY R. GROVE
WESTERNPORT - Harry R. "Mike" Grove, 75, of 317 Green Street, Westernport, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997 at his residence.
He was born March 27, 1922 in Westernport, the son of the late Harry R. Grove, Sr. and Henrietta (Clark) Grove. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald "Dick" Grove, and Thomas J. Grove.

He retired from Westvaco Corporation with 42 years of service, having worked in the Cutter Room. Mr. Grove was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II and the Korean War, serving in Northern France, Central Europe, and Korea.

He was a Lutheran by faith. He also was a life member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Ray) Grove; one son, Jim Grove, Westernport; one daughter, Mary Ann Leatherman and husband, Rodney, Westernport; one sister, Florence Grove, Westernport; and two granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Leatherman.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Homer Beeman officiating.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.

Full military honors will be accorded at graveside by combined veterans organizations.

DIANA M. FULLER
CUMBERLAND - Diana May Fuller, 93, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, March 19, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 25, 1903, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Nancy B. (Workman) Thomas. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Truman C. Fuller; and one sister, Selina T. Shreve.

Mrs. Fuller was a cashier at the Central Restaurant in Cumberland. She was a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church; Redman Degree of Pocahontas 258; American Legion, Fort Cumberland Post 13; Cumberland Outdoor Club Ladies Auxiliary; VFW Henry Hart Post 1411; Eagles Auxiliary 245; and Women of the Moose 914.

Surviving are one sister, Marilyn P. Amato, Baltimore; a special nephew, Robert H. Frame, Cumberland; and several other nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A memorial service will be conducted by the Cumberland VFW Ladies Auxiliary on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A prayer service will be conducted on Friday at 9 p.m. by the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Adam E. Grim officiating.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill cemetery, Cumberland.
