LAWRENCE M. BROWN
LAVALE - Lawrence Milton Brown, 81, of National Highway, LaVale, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, in Sacred Heart Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1916, in Salisbury, Pa., the son of the late William Milton and Lela (Harding) Brown.

He also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel J. (Gray) Brown on Aug. 6, 1990.

Mr. Brown was Protestant by Faith. He had retired as a Brakeman from the B&O; Railroad, and he was a member of the United Transportation Union.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Mae Klahre and husband, James, Cumberland; two sons, David L. Brown, Cumberland, and William L. Brown and wife, Barbara, Lavale; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Maust of Fort Hill, Pa.; a brother, Ray H. Brown, Avilton; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Ervin Kneiriem officiating.

Interment will be next to his loving wife in Salisbury cemetery, Salisbury, Pa.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Lowery, Rick Klahre, Terry Brown, Tommy Emmerick, Donnie Boyer and Alvin Hosselrode. Honorary pallbearer is Billy Brown.

MILTON BROWN
SHAFT - Milton "Pete" Brown, 68, of Shaft, died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital following an extended illness.
Born Feb. 20, 1929, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late James and Florence (Kiddy) Brown. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Brown and Gladys Brown.

Mr. Brown attended Central High School, Lonaconing. He was formerly employed at the Celanese Corp., the Kappers Chemical Plant in Pennsylvania, and the Allegany County Roads Department. He was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Marian (McKenzie) Brown, Shaft; one son, James W. Brown and wife Denise, Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Karen Crowe and husband James, Havre de Grace, and Lori Brown, Midlothian, and her special friend David Willetts, Frostburg; five brothers, William S. Brown and wife Evelyn, Winchester Road, Lloyd E. Brown and wife Mabel, Snow Hill, James K. Brown and wife Bernadette, Lonaconing, Roy K. Brown, Eckhart, and Robert L. Brown and wife Ann, Lonaconing; four sisters, Audrey "Hope" Sharon, Lonaconing, Margaret Williamson and husband William, Lonaconing, Josephine Allen, Lonaconing, and Mabel Leake and husband John, Knapps Meadow; seven grandchildren, Joseph Brown, Jennifer Brown, Mathew and Mark Taylor Brown, Emma Brown, Christopher and Ashley Crowe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Everrett Spence and the Rev. Lawrence Frye officiating.

There will be no graveside services. Interment will be at Frostburg Memorial Park.

The family requests that memorials be sent to the Shaft Methodist Church or the Frostburg Ambulance Service.

WANDA D. BROWN
ECKHART - Wanda D. Brown, 66, of Eckhart, died Friday, March 7, 1997, at the Georgetown University Medical Center.
Born Nov. 12, 1930, in Eckhart, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Bessie (Masat) Dieck. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Dieck; and one brother, Carl Dieck.

Mrs. Brown was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.

Surviving are her husband, Roy Brown; one daughter, Brenda Athey, Eckhart; one granddaughter, Erica Payton, Cumberland; two great-grandsons, Brandon Minnick and Evan Payton; and three sisters, Emma Sayre, Eckhart, Estella Rizer, Eckhart, and Margaret Bone, Frostburg.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence A. Neumark officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Bone, James Bone, Brett Payton, Robert Brown, John Rizer and Bernard Bittinger.

Memorial contributions may be given to Zion United Church of Christ.

GEORGIA E. BROWNING
CUMBERLAND - Georgia Elizabeth Browning, 85, of 408 Broadway Street, Cumberland, died Thursday, July 24, 1997, at her home.
Born June 23, 1912, in Connellsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry McLaughlin and the late Pauline (Lemke) McLaughlin. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Harry McLaughlin; and two sisters, Wanda Davis and Harriet Cerat.

Mrs. Browning was a retired nursing assistant at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Ann Browning, Cumberland, and Mary Joyce Stitcher and husband James K., Severna Park; one brother, Charles McLaughlin, Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Jane DeWolfe, Sebring, Fla., Evelyn Vaters, Pinellas, Fla., Dorothy Myers, Connellsville, Pa., and Dolores Fricano, Scottsdale, Pa.; three grandsons, James Brian Stitcher, David Frederick Stitcher and Craig Steven Stitcher and wife Jennifer, all of Crofton; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Stitcher, Crofton.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas R. Bevan officiating.

Interment will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

GLADYS V. BRUCE
HERMITAGE, Tenn. - Gladys Virginia Bruce, 85, of McKendree Manor, Hermitage, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at McKendree Manor.
Born in Westernport, Md., she was the daughter of William Fatkin and Ida Pearl (Ross) Fatkin.

Mrs. Bruce lived in Cumberland, Md., until 1966, when she moved to Tennessee.

Services will be at the Bass Funeral Home, Gordonsville, on Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997, at 2 p.m.

NAOMI W. BRUNSON
LAVALE - Naomi W. Brunson, 89, of Robin Hood Drive, LaVale, formerly of Deep Creek Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born May 7, 1908, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret E. (Neidert) Wade. She also was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Brunson in 1988.

Mrs. Brunson was a Methodist by faith.

She is survived by three daughters, Vilma Mae Grimes, Lone Oak, Texas, E. Jeannine Gosnell, Oakland, and Charlotte Penn Lutz, LaVale; one sister, Erma Crane, Romney, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gail Hixon officiating.

Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.

ANNA E. BRUST
FROSTBURG - Anna E. McLuckie Brust, 78, of Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of 120 Pine St., Frostburg, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997 at Egle Nursing Home.
Born March 20, 1919 in Cumberland she was the daughter of the late Earnest McLuckie and the late Dora (Malcolm) McLuckie. She also was preceded in death by her husband, A. Trago Brust, in 1986; and a step-son, Richard Brust, in 1975.

Mrs. Brust was a retired teacher having taught at Beall High School and Fort Hill High School.

She was a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church, Cumberland. She was a graduate of Barton High School and Western Maryland College, and she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are a stepson, Robert Brust and wife, Terri, of Frederick; six step-grandchildren, Michael Brust, Steven Brust, Stephanie Throup, Chris Brust, Robert Pusey, and Nathan Pusey; and a special friend, Helen Filer, Frostburg.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd McCanna and the Rev. Steven Shussett officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, near Cumberland.
