LUCILE F. BODEN
CUMBERLAND - Lucile F. "Polly" Boden, 95, formerly of MacDonald Terrace and the Kensington-Algonquin, died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born April 21, 1901, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Frantz and Effie M. (Wickard) Frantz. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Boden, who was the former clerk of the Circuit Court for Allegany County, on July 10, 1978; and a grandson, P.J. Shaffer.

Mrs. Boden was the founder and retired manager of the CCSAC Federal Credit Union, with many years of service. She continued to serve on the supervisory committee for many years. She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church, and Sarah Circle; a charter member of United Methodist Women; and a registered nurse. She graduated from Walter Reed General Hospital, Washington D.C., in 1927. She worked as a registered nurse in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Cumberland, at the Western Maryland Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, and Memorial Hospital. She also was a registered nurse with American Red Cross Blood Bank.

Surviving are two daughters, Joann B. Shaffer and husband Perry, Oakland; Sandra B. Haus and husband John, Cumberland; one sister, Phyllis F. Orr, Gulfport, Miss.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.

Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family requests that donations take the form of contributions to Centre Street United Methodist Church, or the Transportation Fund for Shrine Children's Hospitals, care of Ali Ghan Shrine Temple, PO Box 1416, Cumberland, MD 21501.

MARGARET E. BOCH
CUMBERLAND - Margaret Estella Boch, 72, of Cumberland Manor Apartments, formerly of Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 21, 1924, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late Doc and Mary Viola (Piper) Harman.

Ms. Boch was a homemaker.

Surviving are James A. Twigg; one son, Kenneth E. Fry and wife Theressia, Albany, Ga., one brother, Clifford Harman and wife Janet, Cumberland; two sisters, Mabel Crowfis, Hazel VanMeter and husband Tracy, all of Cumberland; two grandchildren, Nadine Kennedy and Victoria Zimmerman; and two great-grandchildren, Leilan and Abbygail.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne R. Turner officiating.

Interment will be in Davis Memorial cemetery, Cumberland.

EDITH M. BOBO
CUMBERLAND - Edith Marie Bobo, 90. of Cumberland, and formerly of Route 8, Valley Road, died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born September 8, 1906 in Berlin, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Leonidas and Rachel (Browning) Dicken.

Mrs. Bobo also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Bobo in 1976; six brothers, Presley Dicken, Herman Dicken, Leonidas Junior Dicken, Werner Rupert Dicken, James Williams Dicken, and Robert Francis Dicken; and two sisters, Reba A. Dicken and Elsie M. Dicken.

Mrs. Bobo was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bedford Street, where she was a member of the Amona Mizpah Sunday School Class. She also belonged to the Cumberland Senior Citizens and the Y.M.C.A. Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Reilly and the Rev. Bill Stevens officiating.

Interment will be in Zion Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

RUBY G. BATEMAN
WESTERNPORT - Ruby Grace Bateman, 86, formerly of 466 Walnut St., Westernport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing.
Born June 20, 1911, in Altamont, she was the daughter of the late Charles Isaac and Carrie May (Lee) Wright. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hugh Bateman, in 1988.

Mrs. Bateman was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Westernport, where she taught Sunday school for 29 years, and was active in the women's ministries.

Surviving are two sons, Charles H. Bateman, Deer Park, and Arthur H. Bateman, San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Ann Wiles, Westernport; two brothers, Charles Wright, McHenry, and Lyle Wright, Cumberland; two sisters, Geraldine Rodeheaver, Friendsville, and Kitty Savage, McHenry; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the First Assembly of God Church on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry Schloe and the Rev. Donald Webb officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.

JUNE L. GOODWIN
HAGERSTOWN - June L. (Fazenbaker) Goodwin, 63, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997 at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 4, 1934 at Westernport, she was the daughter of Robert L. Fazenbaker, Cresaptown, and the late Catherine (Brennan) Fazenbaker. She also was preceded in death by two children, Ronald and Lorna Goodwin.

Mrs. Goodwin was a former teacher's aide at Washington County.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald C. Goodwin; one son, Randall Goodwin, Hagerstown; and one daughter, Rachael Goodwin, Hagerstown; and one grandson, Steven Goodwin, Hagerstown. Also surviving are three brothers, Robert Fazenbaker, Jr., and Paul Fazenbaker, Lonaconing, and Wheeler Fazenbaker, New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Monday, Sept. 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.

Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park, LaVale.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Clise, John Fazenbaker, Marshall Hadley, John Ralston, Brian Moses and Roger Lambert.

CHARLOTTE M. BAUGHMAN
GARNER, N.C. - Charlotte Marie (Hott) Baughman, 65, of 132 Buffalo Road, Garner, died Friday, March 21, 1997, at home.
Born May 4, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Vernon Walker Beall and the late Nellie Mae (Smith) Beall. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Rizer; and one nephew, Keith A. Mallow.

Mrs. Baughman was a Belltone Hearing Aid Technician.

Surviving are three sons, William A. Hott Jr., Jacksonville, Fla., Patrick Hott, Greencastle, Ind., and V. Alan Hott, Norwalk, Ohio; two daughters, Carolyn Marie Arthur, Carey, N.C., and Patricia Elaine Burrell, Zebulon, N.C.; two brothers, Tim Beall, Sykesville, Md., and Dale Beall, Mansfield, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Day, Fort Meyers, Fla., and Barbara Mallow, Flintstone, Md.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ron W. Eichel officiating.

Interment will be in the Glendale cemetery, Flintstone.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Hospice of Wake County, 4513 Creedmore Road, Raleigh, NC 27612.

WILLIAM J. BAUMILLER SR.
CUMBERLAND - William J. Baumiller Sr., 97, of Orchard Mews Drive SW, Cumberland, formerly of Baltimore, Md., died Tuesday, April 1, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born August 10, 1899, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Joseph Baumiller and Carrie (Pope) Baumiller. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys (Zizwark) Baumiller.

Mr. Baumiller was a retired superintendent of the Mount Clare Locomotive Shop in Baltimore, retiring in 1965 with 48 years service. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons, William J. Baumiller, Jr., Cockeysville, Md. and John C. Baumiller, Bel Air, Cumberland, Md.; one daughter, Melvine Schuh, Chapel Hill, Fla.; one sister, Babs Story, Bel Air, Md.; eight grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

At Mr. Baumiller's request his body was cremated.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later time.

Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph cemetery, Baltimore, Md. The Kight Funeral Home, Cumberland, is in charge of the arrangements.
