WILLIAM M. CRAZE
CUMBERLAND - William McIndo Craze, 80, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at the Egle Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 25, 1917, in Midland, he was the son of the late Thomas and Edith (Schuyler) Craze. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen D. Craze; two sisters, Beatrice Craze and Verna C. Sidel; and two brothers, James A. and Roy T. Craze.
Mr. Craze was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, and was an active member of the Christian Businessmen. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the owner and operator of the Potomac Valley Memorial Park cemetery in Keyser, W.Va., for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor S. Craze; one daughter, Mary C. Bragg and husband Michael, Kansas City; one sister, Edith C. Eisentrout, LaVale; and two grandchildren, Michael W. Bragg, California, and Christina L. Bragg, Kansas City.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daren L. Ritchey and the Rev. Mark Peterson officiating.
Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

RUTH E. CREEK
LITTLE ORLEANS - Ruth E. Creek, 93, of Jenny Lane, Little Orleans, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at her home.
Born April 28, 1903, in McKeesport, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Scott M. and Edith Virginia (Creek) Mann. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Andrew Creek, in 1968; two infant sons; one sister, Elma Mann; and two brothers, Marshall and Homer Mann.
Mrs. Creek taught school in the Allegany County school system for a number of years, and was a member of the Piney Plains United Methodist church, Little Orleans, where she taught Sunday school for 50 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia R. Nicodemus, Little Orleans; three grandchildren, Keith McFarland, Donald McFarland, and David McFarland; and four great-grandchildren. She also was foster mother for a number of children.
Friends will be received at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open from 4 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be at the Piney Plains United Methodist Church Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Alan Smith officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

MARY D. CRITES
CUMBERLAND - Mary Dorothy Crites, 78, of Roberts Street, Cumberland, died Friday, Feb. 21, 1997, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born May 24, 1918, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Dorothy (Lambert) Holshey. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest B. "Doc" Crites; and three brothers, John, Nick and Pete.
Mrs. Crites was a homemaker.
Surviving are one daughter, Carol A. Gilbert and husband Donald, Winchester; two brothers, Philip Holshey and wife Olie, Cumberland, and Stephen Holshey and wife Lillian, Carpendale, W.Va.; one sister, Ann Keister, Augusta, W.Va.; two grandsons, Jason E. Gilbert and Shawn M. Gilbert; and two close friends, Deanna Snider and Mary Gass, both of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley officiating.
Interment will be in the Davis Memorial cemetery.
MARY A. HOWARD
BLOOMINGTON - Mary A. Howard, 95, of Bloomington, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born July 3, 1901, in Hampshire, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Amos Bean and Bertha (Howdyshell) Bean. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Howard, on April 4, 1966; three brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Howard was a member of the Bloomington United Methodist Church and a member of the Women's Society of the church.
Surviving are one daughter, Frances Green and husband Lloyd, Bloomington; one grandson, Richard Green, Bloomington; four sisters, Eva Randells, Piedmont, W.Va., Bernice Wildman, Swanton, Lena McIlwee and husband Richard, Keyser, and Margaret Wilt, New Creek, W.Va.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Nelson officiating.
Interment will follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad.
KAREN S. CRONE
OAKLAND - Karen S. Crone, 45, of 1015 Pysell Road, McHenry, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 17, 1952, in Oakland, she was the daughter of Elmer W. and Helen V. (Tatterson) Crone. She also was preceded in death by one brother, James Crone.
Karen was a retired psychologist for the Maryland Department of Corrections.
In addition to her parents, surviving are her husband, Richard M. Lewis; one brother, Robert W. Crone, Hazard, Ky.; and one sister, Donna L. Seeders, Deer Park.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mel Menker officiating.
Following the services, the body will be cremated.
Interment will be at a later date.

MARY K. CROUSE
KITZMILLER - Mary Kathern Crouse, 88, of Kitzmiller, died Wednesday at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born July 19, 1908, in Gleason, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Wheeler and Lucinda (Lancaster) Rhodes. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Crouse.
Surviving are three sons, Elwood Crouse, Elk Garden, Jake Crouse, Wyoming, Del., and Alan Crouse, Dover, Del.; one daughter, Norma Jean Sliva, Wilmington, N.C.; and thirteen grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brenda Shreve officiating.
Interment will be in the IOOF cemetery, Elk Garden.
FLORENCE M. CROWE
FROSTBURG - Florence M. Crowe, 86, of 135 Hill St., died Monday, April 28, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 20, 1911, in Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Hartle) Clopper. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Crowe, and one son, Kenneth Lee Crowe.
Mrs. Crowe was a homemaker, and formerly worked for Friends Aware, Cumberland. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg; a charter member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 348. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1273 Auxiliary; Farrady Unit 24 Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion; Frostburg Homemakers; Frostburg Senior Citizens; Interfaith Community Food Pantry; and a participant in the Council of the Alleganies.
Surviving are two sons, Charles F. Crowe and wife Catherine, Chester, and Robert W. Crowe, at home; two grandchildren, Lauren Kovach, Vienna, Va., and Kimberly Tortunato, Great Falls, Va.; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Winters, Sharpsburg Pike; one brother, Verdeen Clopper, Hagerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Esther M. Kuhre, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
