THOMAS KIMMELL, SR.
FLINTSTONE - Thomas C. Kimmell, Sr., 73, of Flintstone died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997 at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 10, 1924, in Cumberland he was the son of the late Claude and Lenora (Karns) Kimmell.

Mr. Kimmell was a member of the Fort Hill High School Class of 1942 and a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He retired in 1986 after working for Swift and Company for 40 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he found time to work with young adults, drive the church bus, play on the church softball and bowling teams, and serve on the church council. Throughout his life, he served on various civic committees to help improve the City of Cumberland, which he loved. They included city planning, libraries and parks and recreation. He was a devout Republican all his life and delighted in participating in local political campaigns. In his later years, he devoted his time and energy to his famiily, whom he deeply loved. He will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are one son, Thomas C. Kimmell, Jr. and wife Anne R., Gaithersburg; two daughters, Cheryl S. Maistros and husband Michael, Cumberland; Brenda K. Fuller and husband David, Parkville, Missouri; one brother, Claude Kimmell, Jr. and wife Betty, Cumberland; one sister, Rosalee McIntyre, Cumberland; 18 grandchildren, Christopher Gutowski, Belmont, Ohio; Stephenie Caldwell and husband Michael, Hagerstown; Michael, Matthew, Christopher, Christine, Andrew, Aletheia, Keren, and Hannah Maistros, all of Cumberland; Jeremy, Nathan, Aaron, Melanie and Christa Fuller, Parkville; Kati, Sarah and Molly Clement, Gathersburg; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mickey Stephens officiating.

Interment will be in Greenmount cemetery, Cumberland.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Maryland, 11 Columbia St., Cumberland, MD 21502.

GLADYS M. KINDER
FINZEL - Gladys M. Kinder, 76, of Finzel Road, Finzel, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 11, 1920, in Uniontown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Henry Daniel and Mary Margaret (Black) Lynch. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Benton W. Kinder.

Mrs. Kinder was a member of the LaVale Chapel Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Harriet S. Poli and husband Vito, Finzel Road, with whom she resided; two sisters, Betty King, Eckhart, and Virginia Rodeheaver, Phillips, Pa.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen M. Schuessler officiating.

Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Michael Poli, Vito William Poli and Benjamin Jasonaski.

PAULINE E. KING
OAKLAND - Pauline Elizabeth King, 76, of Maryland Highway, Oakland, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
She was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Swanton.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie (Reckner) Mellinger; her stepfather, Harvey Mellinger; a daughter, Sandra K. Dixon, on Dec. 30, 1995; and a grandson, Reid King.

Mrs. King was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Oakland.

Surviving are her husband, Harry R. King; a son, Rodney R. King, Oakland; mother-in-law, Laura (Friend) King Flanigan, Deer Park; two half sisters, Wanda Zimmerman, Oakland, and Wilda Fazalore, Rawlings; four grandchildren, Angela Ringler and husband Allen, Cinda Murray and husband Charles, Brad L. King and wife Shannon, and Chad W. King and wife Amy; a granddaughter-in-law, Brenda King; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark G. Klawonn officiating.

Interment will be in Garrett Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. King's memory to the Deer Park Fire Department or the Southern Garrett Rescue Squad.

OPAL L. KING
CUMBERLAND - Opal Louise King, 67, of Cumberland, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997, at Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 28, 1929, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John and Elsie Gladys (Slider) Robinett. She also was preceded in death by a son, W. Blair King, March, 1997.

Mrs. King was a retired nursing assistant for the Allegany County Nursing Home. She was a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 245 Auxiliary, and Fort Cumberland Post No. 13 American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are a daughter, Etta O. Jackson, Cumberland; a stepdaughter, Wilma Rhodes, Ridgeley, W.Va.; several grandchildren, including Cinnamon Jackson, Odie Jackson, and Barbara Foster; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Ruff-King, Placentia, Calif.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Arrangements for Mrs. King were handled by the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.

W. BLAIR KING
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Walter Blair King, 42, of Santa Ana, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Thursday, March 20, 1997, at his residence.
Born Dec. 30, 1954, in Cumberland, he was the son of Opal L. (Robinett) King, of Cumberland, and the late Wilbur O. King Sr. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur O. King Jr.

Blair was a 1972 graduate of Allegany County Vo-Tech and Fort Hill High School, where he was a member of the chess club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed by Baxter Health Care Corp., Irvine. He was a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 22 years, Mary Ann Ruff-King, Santa Ana; one brother, William A. King, Bowie, Md.; sisters, Etta O. Jackson, Cumberland, Wilma B. Rhodes, Wiley Ford, W.Va., and Toni Rae King, address unknown; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews.

In accordance with Blair's wishes his body will be cremated with the ashes spread in the Pacific Ocean that he loved.

The Saddleback Chapel, Santa Ana, is in charge of arrangements.

CAROLYN S. KINNEY
CUMBERLAND - Carolyn Sue Kinney, 48, of Brandenburg Center, Cumberland, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 1, 1949, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of Priscilla (Coleman) Gracie, Frostburg, and the late Harold Kinney. She also was preceded in death by five brothers.

Ms. Kinney was Methodist by faith.

In addition to her mother, surviving are her stepfather, Ned Gracie, Frostburg; two sisters, Debra Smith and Margaret Ann Gracie, both at home; two brothers, Robert Kinney, Eckhart, and Thomas Kinney, Moorefield, W.Va.

Carolyn's family would like to thank the Brandenburg Center and all of her friends there, especially her special friend Amy.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Gordon officiating.

Interment will follow in Thrust cemetery, Antioch, W.Va.

BERTHA M. KISAMORE
FLINTSTONE - Bertha M. Kisamore, 89, of 13520 Scofield Road, Flintstone, died March 2, 1997, at her home.
Born Dec. 2, 1907, in Pendleton County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Cane Morral and Mary Jane (Arbogast) Morral. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fleet H. Kisamore on Jan. 28, 1987; four brothers, Wine, Marvin, Delmar and Earl Morral and three sisters, Florence Vance, Grace Warner and Flode Bland and Emery Vance, whom she raised.

Mrs. Kisamore was a retired employee of Kelly Springfield Tire Company. Her career lasted from Jan. 18, 1945, to Aug. 1, 1963.

Surviving are one brother, Arthur Morral, West Virginia; two children that Mrs. Kisamore raised as her own, Melvin "Rick" Vance and wife, Wendy, Star Route, Flintstone and Shirley Grieves, Flintstone and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Ketterman officiating. Interment will be at Bedford County Memorial Park.
