THOMAS J. JAMES
GILMORE - Thomas Junior James, 69, of Elk Lick Road, SW, Gilmore, went to be with the Lord with his family beside him on Monday, June 30, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on July 27, 1927, at Barricksville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Thomas S. and Louise (Statler) James.
Mr. James was retired from the Kelly Springfield Tire Company with 41 years and 9 months of service. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Midland Sportsmen's Club, Gilmore Civic Improvement Club, Midland Democrat Club, and the Senior Citizens of Georges Creek.
Surviving are his wife Ellen Jean (Fazenbaker) James; one son, Thomas J. "Butch" James and wife Paula, Midland; one daughter, Kathy J. Wilson and husband Joe, Gilmore; three grandchildren, J.J. Wilson and wife Malo, Jessie James and Maggie Mills; two great-grandchildren, Jay Wilson and Jarred Wilson; three brothers, Raymond James, Oxen Hill, Johnny James, Leasure City, Fla., and Melvin James, Clarksville, Tenn.; one sister, Marguerite Rayner, Gilmore; one half sister, Worlene Rogish, Midland; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Homer Beeman officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Lonaconing.
Pallbearers will be his great-nephews, Dale Winters, Dave Rayner, Jim Rayner, Bob Rayner, Mike Rayner and Tim Rayner.
FREDA M. JAMES
CRESAPTOWN - Freda Marie James, 82, of Cresaptown, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 5, 1915, in Coakton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Damie (Liller) Eshbaugh. She also was preceded in death by by three children, Betty Oster, Barbara Kinser and Henry E. "Sonny" James, Jr.; two brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. James was a homemaker. She was a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church and the ladies guild at the church.
Surviving are her husband, Henry E. James, Sr.; two sons, Robert E. James and wife Alecia, St. Louis, Mo., Richard J. James and wife Linda, Alta Vista, Kan.; three daughters, Ethel M. Rudloff and husband Franklin, Cumberland, Elnora M. Pennington, Cresaptown, and Linda A. Carroll, Springfield, W.Va.; one daughter-in-law, Gertrude B. James, Youngstown, Ohio; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Harry R. Copen officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Job Turner, Anthony Palmer, Jr., Franklin Rudloff, Jr., Charles Combs, Joseph Fields, and Jeffrey Shook.
DOROTHY V. JAMES
CUMBERLAND - Dorothy V. James, 76, of Massachusetts Avenue, Cumberland, formerly of Wiley Ford, W.Va., died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 18, 1921, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Gertrude (Jolley) Settle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray O. James; four brothers, Ashby Settle, Clyde Settle, Ray Settle, and Nelson Settle; and two sisters, Goldie Sherman and Helen Cook.
Mrs. James was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed working with crafts and being with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Frances Miller Deaton and husband, Jerald, San Angelo, Texas, and Barbara Simmons Marker and husband, Bob, Cumberland; one son, Woodrow G. "Jay" Simmons, Jr., Moorefield, W.Va.; three stepdaughters, Estaline K. "Sis" Kifer, Fay L. Thomas, both of Fayetteville, N.C., and Annette K. Robinette, Newport, Pa.; four stepsons, Franklin H. James, Short Gap, W.Va., Harold V. James, Romney, W.Va., and Raymond O. James and Garland S. James, both of Cumberland; four sisters, Paula Erickson and husband, Chester, Cumberland, Wanda Roby and husband, Jim, Hagerstown, Betty McKenzie and husband, Galen, Bel Air, and Gertrude Oestly and husband, Charles, Tall Timber; 35 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Mildred C. Martin officiating. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

IVA E. KIGHT
HAGERSTOWN - Iva E. (Watson) Kight, 82, of the Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, formerly of Jones St., Piedmont, W.Va., died Saturday, July 12, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born June 18, 1915, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of the late John E. Watson and Minnie M. (Tranum) Watson. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Kight; one daughter, Anna M. Kight; two brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Kight was Presbyterian by faith, and retired from Westvaco Corp. with 43 years of service.
Surviving are two sisters, Bonnie Porter, Westernport, and Peggy McFadden, Barberton, Ohio; one son-in-law, Paul W. Bailey, Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Paula and John Bailey, Hagerstown; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Nurnberger officiating.
Interment will be in the Restlawn cemetery, LaVale.
JESSE L. KIMBLE JR.
BARTON - Jesse Lee Kimble Jr., 74, of 19106 S. Railroad St., Barton, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 17, 1922, in Barton, he was the son of the late Jesse L. Kimble Sr. and the late Alleda (Stephens) Kimble. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Karl Kimble; and a sister, Leona Kirkwood.
Mr. Kimble retired from Westvaco after 36 years of service. Prior to that he worked at the Celanese Fibers Corp. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Queens Point VFW Post 6775; Victory Post 155 American Legion; and Barton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lois E. (Fazenbaker) Kimble; two sons, Clarence L. Kimble and wife Linda, Barton, and Bruce A. Kimble and wife Lynn, Charleston, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Jenny Kimble and Cody Kimble, both of Barton; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kimble was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Queens Point VFW will hold a memorial service at the chapel on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold Malone officiating.
Interment will be in the Laurel Hill cemetery, Moscow Mills. Full military honors will be accorded at the graveside by members of veterans organizations.
THEODORE M. KIMBLE
WESTERNPORT - Theodore M. Kimble, 63, of 22612 Westernport Road, Westernport, died Monday, June 30, 1997, at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Dec. 22, 1933, in Keyser, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Mary Thelma (Mackley) Kimble. He also was preceded in death by his wife Maxine L. (Smith) Kimble, on July 2, 1994; three brothers; and one sister.
Mr. Kimble was a retired Power Boiler Operator from Westvaco with 39 years of service. He was a member of the McCoole Presbyterian Church, a Korean US Army Veteran, a member of the Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport, Kelly Mansfield Post 52 American Legion, Piedmont, and the VFW Post 6775 Queens Point, McCoole. He was a graduate of Piedmont High School.
Surviving are four sons, Steven Kimble and wife Peggy, Keyser, W.Va., Larry Kimble and wife Linda, Ripley, W.Va., Ronald Kimble and wife Santosh (Joanie), Gaithersburg, and Glenn Kimble, Keyser; five grandchildren, Steven, Samuel, Christopher, Neeru and Matthew; and one sister, Mary Jane Mackley, Keyser.
Friends will be received at the Markwood McKenzie Funeral Home, Keyser, W.Va., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Pancake officiating.
Interment will be at the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.
Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the local veterans associations.
EDNA L. KIMMELL
BALTIMORE - Edna Louise Kimmell, 70, of Baltimore, where she lived for 30 years with family members, died of heart failure on Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at the University of Maryland Hospital of Baltimore.
Born Aug. 19, 1926, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Lenora (Karnes) Kimmell.
Mrs. Kimmell was a homemaker, who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was the beloved mother of three daughters, Nickola L. Schwab, Melanie A. Hodge, and Cinda C. Friedl; one son, Shawn R. Bennett, all of Pasadena; the loving grandmother of four grandchildren, Alexander K. Schwab, Samuel L. Bennett, Jonathan Friedl, and Brooke Eddye Friedl. She also is survived by one sister, Rosalee McIntyre; and two brothers, Thomas Kimmell and Claude Kimmell Jr., both of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at noon with the Rev. Mickey Stephens of Grace Memorial Community Church officiating.
Interment will be in Greenmount cemetery, Cumberland.
