EDWIN M. LEWIS
SILVER CREEK, N.Y. - Edwin M. Lewis, 77, of Silver Creek, N.Y., died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997 at Silver Creek.
Born April 7, 1919 in Mount Savage, Md. he was the son of the late Harry and Minnie (Boyer) Lewis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Colleen B. (Rumor) Lewis in 1992 and one brother, Donald Lewis, in 1989.

Mr. Lewis was self employed in the wholesale tobacco and candy business from 1942 to 1952. He later worked for the Ort Bakery in Cumberland. He became associated with the Petri Bakery Company in Silver Creek in 1968 and became general manager of the Dunkirk, N.Y. branch of the Petri Bakery Company in 1973 until his retirement on Dec. 31, 1996. He was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Silver Creek; Elks Club, Dunkirk, for 32 years; Moose Club, Dunkirk for 12 years; and Moniuszko Social Club, Dunkirk.

Surviving is one niece, Judy Haywood and husband Herman, Rawlings, Md.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, Md., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral and interment services will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. with the Rev. George Whitehurt officiating.

Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md.

ELSIE M. LEWIS
LONACONING - Elsie Moffatt Lewis, 76, of 833 Iris Drive, North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Jackson Street, Lonaconing, died Friday, Feb. 28, 1997, at the home of her daughter, Linda Kight.
Born June 4, 1920, in Montel, she was the daughter of the late Robert Hobel and Annie Harris Hobel. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Moffatt, two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Lewis was a retired nursing assistant from Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Surviving are one son, Charles D. Moffatt and wife, Barbara, Lonaconing; four daughters, Mrs. Donna Wade, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Mrs. Judith Richmond and husband, William, Lonaconing; Mrs. Sandra Fredlock and husband, William, Piedmont, W.Va.; Mrs. Linda Kight and husband, Douglas, North Fort Myers; one sister, Ann Barton, Baltimore; 16 grandchildren, Jeffrey Wade, Clay Wade, Charles Wade, John Wade, Lori Kiddy, James Richmond, Amy Ritchie, W.H. Fredlock IV, Sean Fredlock, Chris Fredlock, Julie Kay Fredlock, Dennis Moffatt, Carey Moffatt, Joe Moffatt, Jennifer Lucas, Douglas Kight; 14 great-grandchildren and a very special friend, Jeannie Davis, Fort Myers.

Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Vernon Gauthier officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the First Presbyterian Church of Lonaconing or to the Georges Creek Library Fund, P.O. Box 93, Lonaconing, MD 21539. Our wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

JULIA H. LEWIS
CUMBERLAND - Julia H. Lewis, 86, of Cumberland, died Saturday, March 22, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 8, 1910, in Moorefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Houdersheldt May and Ethel (Delawder) H. May. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar T. Lewis, in 1988; and one daughter, Eileen Lewis Shewbridge.

Mrs. Lewis was retired form the Celanese Corp., Cumberland. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Elder Street, Cumberland. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are one son, Wallace J. Lewis, with whom she resided; and a number of cousins and half brothers.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Orville K. Thomas officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Herman cemetery, Cumberland.

DOROTHY F. LEYDIG
CUMBERLAND - Dorothy Frances Leydig, 75, of 12810 Old Church Lane NE, Cumberland, died Sunday, April 6, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1922, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Ryland and the late Nan (Fuguet) Ryland. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Helena Perdew; her first husband, Walter L. Perdew; a brother, William Ryland; and two sisters, Margurite Carrier and Angela Sinkbeil.

After her mother's death, Mrs. Leydig was reared by Elizabeth Conner and her son, George, and his wife Sarah Conner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Leydig was retired from Celanese Fibers Corp. of America. She was a member of Auxiliary of Oscar Jordan, Post 7375 VFW, Hyndman, Pa.

Surviving are her husband, Donald F. Leydig, Cumberland; a son, Delbert L. Perdew, Cumberland; a stepdaughter, Mary Margaret Keyes, Washington, Pa.; and very special friends, LeAnn Callis, Cumberland, and Mae Speelman, Ellerslie, Pa.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

GEORGANNA LEYHE
CUMBERLAND - Georganna Leyhe, 92, formerly of Route 3, Bedford Road, Cumberland, died Friday, April 11, 1997, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Jan. 3, 1905, at Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Walter Guy Krause and Lulu May (Fazenbaker) Krause.

Mrs. Leyhe was a retired secretary at Allegany High School, and was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, Cumberland, on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edward C. Chapman officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

EVELYN S. LIGHT
CUMBERLAND - Evelyn S. Light, 84, of Shriver Avenue, Cumberland, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, at her residence.
Born Aug. 23, 1912, in Finzel, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Oscar and Irene (Goldsworthy) Steinla. She also was preceded in death by one son, Richard A. "Rich" Light, on May 17, 1994.

Mrs. Light was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church. She was employed by the Steinla Motor Company as office secretary and chief terminal dispatcher. She was past secretary of the El Fidel Club.

Surviving are three sons, James E. Light and wife Patricia, Oakland, Paul E. Light, with whom she resided, and John W. Light, Cumberland; one brother, Jacob O. Steinla and wife Thelma, Hagerstown; and one grandson, Joseph P. Light, Broadway, Va.

Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Adam Grim officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

Donations may be directed to the American Heart Association.

ROBERT E. LIKENS, SR.
FROSTBURG - Robert Edward Likens Sr., 65, of Shaft Road, Frostburg, died March 3, 1997, at his home.
Born in Lonaconing on Jan. 13, 1932, he was the son of the late William E. Likens and Nettie (Elkins) Likens. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Likens was a retired supervisor at BelFont Country Club Golf Course, Ashland, Ky. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7073, Roy Calvin McGinnis Post, Parker, Pa.; an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Company A, 151 ENGR C BN, Korea. Mr. Likens was Methodist by faith.

Surviving are his wife, Patsy Y. (Miller) Likens; three children, Robert Edward Likens Jr., at home; Cynthia Snyder, Keyser, W.Va.; Greta Likens, Frostburg; three grandchildren, James Michael Likens, Amanda Fairgrieve, David William Likens; four sisters, Catherine Llewellyn, Moscow; Rosalie Whiteman and Gay Spiker, both of Gilmore; Shirley Benson, Luke and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held there Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
