MOLETA MAY TIPTON
CUMBERLAND - Moleta May Tipton, 76, of 229 Carroll Street, Cumberland, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1921, in Cumberland, the daughter of the late George William Fisher and Willa May (Grayson) Fisher.
Mrs. Tipton was a Homemaker. She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church. She was an avid Skillpool and shuffleboard player.
Mrs. Tipton was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #13, the Goodfellowship Club, and the Ladies of the Moose.
She is survived by her husband, Donald W. Tipton, Sr., Cumberland; one son, Donald W. Tipton, Jr. and wife, JoAnn, Ridgeley, W.Va.; one daughter, Donna J. Robinson and husband Charles, Cumberland; one sister, Mildred "Mickey" Clem, Cumberland; six grandchildren, Jerry Robinson and wife, Jan, Ellerslie, Sherry Robinson and companion Jimmy Root, Cumberland, Terry Robinson Bowers and husband, Steve, Cumberland, Jennifer Robinson and companion Cliff Roddy, Cumberland, Melissa Tipton James and husband, Jeff, Ridgeley, and Donnie Tipton, III, Road, Ridgeley; and seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Brady Robinson, Nicholas and Marcus Bowers, and Joshua, Nathaniel and Ashley James.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and services will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
WALLACE TITCHNELL
CUMBERLAND - Wallace "Bill" Titchnell, 74, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, in the Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.
Born March 10, 1923, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Dewey Lee and Ina Odell (Schell) Titchnell.
Mr. Titchnell was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Celanese Corp., having been a millwright machinist. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Grace (Maiers) Titchnell; two daughters, Pamela Sue (Titchª nell) Lewis and husband Sidney, Cumberland, and Dawn Patricia (Titchnell) Flanagan and husband Donald, Ruther Glen, Va.; one son, Robin Lee Titchnell and wife Marsha, Short Gap, W.Va.; one sister, Ina Laverne Screen, Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Brian M. Lewis, San Diego, Calif., Andrea S. (Lewis) Engle, Hyndman, Pa., Jennifer Lynne Titchnell, Short Gap, Elizabeth Dawn Flanagan, Rachel Michelle Flanagan, Stephanie Renee Flanagan, and Kyle Ryan Flanagan, all of Ruther Glen, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Dill officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Maiers, Howard Maiers, Jim Nestor, Jeff Maiers, Bill Seeders, and James Cross.

ROXIE TOOMEY
WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Roxie Toomey, 84, of 14411 Pine Lane, Woodbridge, formerly of Cumberland, died Saturday, May 17, 1997, at Woodbridge Nursing Center.
Born March 11, 1913, in Pendleton County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Strike and Betty Jane (Nelson) Hedrick.
Mrs. Toomey was a retired domestic housekeeper.
Surviving are two sons, F. Earl Toomey, Cumberland, and P. Junior Toomey, Woodbridge; a daughter, Betty L. Griese and husband Robert, Cumberland; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bernard Yost officiating.
Interment will be in Zion Memorial Park.
STEPHEN P. TRANUM
OAKLAND - Stephen P. Tranum, 50, of 10 Stanton Lane, Oakland, died Monday, April 21, 1997, at Garrett Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Sept. 28, 1946, in Westernport, he was the son of Thomas Tranum and stepmother Juanita (Miller) Tranum, both of Westernport; and the late Margaret Ivalee (Montgomery) Tranum.
Mr. Tranum was a retired electrical supervisor at the University of Maryland at College Park. He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard; Oakland American Legion Post 71; and a graduate of St. Peters High School, Westernport. He was Catholic by faith.
Surviving are his former wife, Carolyn Barnard, Deep Creek Lake; one son, Stephen Tranum, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; one daughter, Wendy Jones and husband Charles, Thurmont; one brother, Thomas Tranum and wife Bette, Route 46, W.Va.; one sister, Peggy Barclay and husband Bill, Lonaconing; and one grandson, Andrew Jones.
Friends may call at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be at the funeral home, Thursday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport, where full military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Easton, Tim Francis, Brian Barclay, and Joey Barclay.
HARRIETT "TOPSY" TRENUM
WESTERNPORT - Harriett "Topsy" Trenum, 91, of Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, formerly of Franklin, died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at Moran Manor.
She was born June 21, 1906, in Canton, Pa., the daughter of the late Bertram White and the late Molly (Darling) White. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances "Fritz" Layton; and three grandchildren, Lucinda Newman, Terry Layton, and Carol Williams; and a sister, Naomi Crawford.
She retired as the longtime owner and operator of Topsy's Beauty Salon in Franklin. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, W.Va., a graduate of Scott's Beauty School, and a former member of the Tri-Towns Soroptomist Club.
She is survived by two sons, Bertram E. White and wife, Doris, Lacy, Wash., and Allen "Skeeter" Trenum and wife, Sylvia, Westernport; one daughter, Jean Newman, Baltimore; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great, great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to Tri-Towns Rescue Squad.
ADA TRIPLETT
CUMBERLAND - Ada (Isner) Triplett, 89, of South Street, Cumberland, died Sunday, July 20, 1997, at her residence.
Born Dec. 27, 1907, in Elkins, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Martin L. and Florence (Day) Isner. She also was preceded in death by her husband Carl D. Triplett, in 1996.
Mrs. Triplett was a member of the Cumberland First Church of the Nazarene and along with her husband were foster parents to many children.
Surviving are one brother, Carl M. Isner and wife Alice, Cumberland; one sister, Agnes Ketterman, Nashville, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, Baltimore Avenue, Cum berland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Barkley officiating.
Interment will be in the Sun set Memorial Park, Cumberland.
ROMA WALKER TRITCH
HAGERSTOWN - Roma Natalie Walker Tritch, 72, of 134 Catawba Place, Hagerstown, died Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, at her home.
Born Nov. 14, 1925, in Alaska, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Oliver G. and Maud S. Black Walker. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Geraldine Smith and Eleanor Eye; and two brothers, Oliver G. Walker Jr., and John F. Walker.
She was the owner of Roma's Beauty Salon for 53 years. She attended St. John's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are, one step-daughter, Susan T. Hawbaker, Greencastle, Pa.; three step-grandchildren, Holly Fisher, Luray, Va., Scott VanKleeck, Tampa, Fla., and Krystal Hawbaker, Greencastle; four step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Edward Heim officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
