WOODROW "WOODY" TROUTMAN
HAGERSTOWN - Woodrow "Woody" Troutman, 85, of 11813 Partridge Trail, Hagerstown, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio and Frostburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997 at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born May 7, 1912 in Wellersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late James D. and Christina (Shaffer) Troutman. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Alan Troutman and Zane Troutman.
Mr. Troutman was retired from the General Motors Corporation, prop shaft department, Cleveland.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma (Rizer) Troutman; one daughter, Carol Troutman, at home; two sisters, Thelma Doke, of Street, Md., and Mary Soltis, Uniontown, Pa.; five nieces; and two nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. only.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ellis Kretschmer officiating. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
GEORGE M. TUKEY
CUMBERLAND - George M. Tukey, 84, of Magruder Street, Cumberland, died Friday, April 25, 1997, at his home.
Born on November 26, 1912, in Warren, Ind., he was the son of the late Lewis E. Tukey and Ethel Simmons Tukey. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mary Allen Tukey, in 1988.
Mr. Tukey was a former executive of Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, having retired November 1976, after a career in the rubber industry of 39 years.
His first assignment in the rubber industry came in 1937 in Goodyear's retail stores' Cleveland district. From March 1942, until September 1945, he was with Goodyear aircraft division where he was assigned to field service on the production of the U.S. Navy Corsair and later moved to customer engineering contact. However, the majority of his long career with Goodyear and Kelly-Springfield was in international sales.
He served Kelly-Springfield's parent company, Goodyear, as a field representative in British East Africa, stationed in Nairobi. Later, he was promoted to field sales representative in Beirut, Lebanon. In 1952, he was appointed zone sales supervisor for the Middle East. In January 1955, he returned to Akron as assistant manager of the Near Eastern and African Division, and the following year he became manager of the division. His next foreign assignment came in October 1957, when he was appointed assistant managing director of Goodyear South Africa.
Mr. Tukey came to Kelly-Springfield in September 1958, as assistant manager of the International Division. He was named general sales manager in 1963, and two years later he was promoted to director of sales in the International Division.
In June 1967, Mr. Tukey became Regional Director of Europe and Africa. Following a reorganization of Kelly-Springfield's International Division, he was named director of Export Sales and Operation in June 1974.
Mr. Tukey was a member of the Cumberland Country Club and the First Presbyterian Church, Washington Street.
Surviving are his daughter, Mary Abigail Shively Jones, Ormond Beach, Fla.; his son, G. Michael Tukey and daughter-in-law, Paula Tukey, Savannah, Ga.; five granddchildren, C. Allen Shively, Cumberland, John R. Shively, Pottstown, Pa., Sarah A. Shively Walker, Tamarac, Fla., Elizabeth Tukey Purkey, Baltimore, and George M. Tukey Jr., Baltimore; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew and Garrett Shively, Cumberland, and Daniel and Holly Shively, Pottstown, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church, 11 Washington St., Cumberland, on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Morton Harris officiating.
Interment will be in Zanesville, Ohio, on Wednesday.
DOROTHY K. TRULY
CRESAPTOWN - Dorothy K. Truly, 84 of Cresaptown, then a resident of the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center, died at the Center on Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997.
She was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Punxsutawney, Pa., the daughter of the late Lawrence and Cora (Davis) Kenniburg.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, William Crawford Truly, on Dec. 2, 1984.
Mrs. Truly was a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She also was a member of the Mountain Chapter #15 Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Truly Kauffman, Fairfax, Va.; a sister, Sarah Harrison, St. Clair Shores, Mich.; a granddaughter, Regina Miller, College Park; four great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy, Jeffrey, and Michael, all of College Park; and three great-great-grandchildren, Nicole, Travis, and Tyler.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Order of Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. following visitation, with the Rev. Harold R. McClay, Jr. officiating.
At Mrs. Truly's request, her body will be cremated, and her ashes interred at Frostburg Memorial Park at a later date.
JEANNIE TURNER
CUMBERLAND - B. Jeannie Turner, 39, of 623 Yale St., Cumberland, died Monday, June 16, 1997, at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Born Oct. 31, 1957, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of John W. and Betty G. Munday, Cumberland. She was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Larry Munday.
Mrs. Turner was self-employed with a child day care center in her home. She was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1975. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, the Outdoor Club Auxiliary, and the Allegany County Day Care Providers. She was an avid worker in the Fort Hill High School Cheerleaders Mothers Club. She was a loving wife and mother completely devoted to her family.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Ronald W. Turner; a son, Christopher W. Turner, at home; a daughter, Laura J. Turner, at home; a maternal grandmother, Estella Davis, Cumberland; a brother, Scott Munday and wife Peggy, Cumberland; three stepbrothers, Roger Fuller and wife Pam, Chambersburg, Pa., John Berry Munday and wife Hilda, N.C., and Rob Munday, Cumberland; a stepsister, Marie Raynor, Cumberland; numerous nieces and nephews; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emory and Glendora Turner, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David F. Dayhoff officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
JEANNETTE E. TURNEY
MOUNTAIN LAKE PARK - Jeannette E. Turney, 85, of Mountain Lake Park, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997, at her home.
Born Nov. 24, 1912, in Monongh, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ned Hacker and Gertrude (Lawson) Hacker. She also was preceded in death by her husband, F. Joseph Turney; and one daughter, Judith K. Turney.
Surviving are two sons, Gary J. Turney and David M. Turney and wife Rose, all of Mountain Lake Park; and one daughter, Sharon G. Turney, also of Mountain Lake Park.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James F. Remley officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakland cemetery.

EARL TWIGG
MOUNT SAVAGE - Earl Twigg, 89, of 16301 Bishields Lane, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born April 26, 1908, in Garrett, Pa., he was the son of the late Albert and Minnie Viola Twigg. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Twigg, in 1990; two brothers; one sister; and one grandson.
Mr. Twigg was of the Protestant faith. He was retired from the electrical maintenance department at Allegany Ballistics Laboratory.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Earl Twigg and wife Carol, Eckhart, and Donald C. Twigg and wife Beverly, Wellersburg, Pa.; one daughter, Shirley A. Baker and husband Zane, Mount Savage; one sister, Violet Baker, Morgantown, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be recieved at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, June 19, 1997, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Metrick officiating.
Interment will be at the Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
