Jackson, William A.

William 'Bill' A. Jackson, 80, of Pocomoke City, MD, died Saturday, October 20, 2001, at his residence after a short illness.

Born in Cedar Hall, Pocomoke City, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Stanley and Eva Mariner Jackson.

Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #93. He retired from Campbell Soup in Pocomoke City.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary E. 'Betty' Melvin Jackson; three children and their spouses, Malissa and Bill Wilson of Onancock; Stanley and Terri Jackson of Pocomoke City; and Beth and Donald Hart of Keller, Virginia; two grandchildren, Matthew Jackson of Pocomoke City and Avery Hart of Keller, Virginia; four step grandchildren; two sisters Malissa Small of Onancock, Virginia and Elizabeth Young of Hallwood, Virginia and a brother, Daniel Jackson of New Church, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Buck and Edgar Jackson; a sister, Olivia Jackson and a son, Mel Jackson who died in 1963, preceded him in death.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist cemetery on Old Snow Hill Road in Pocomoke City. The Rev. Thomas J. Wall will officiate. Friends may call at the Holloway Melson Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, Tuesday, October 23, 2001 from 7-9:00 p.m.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.

Kwoka, Alfreda B.

Alfreda B. Kwoka, age 86, of Avalon, NJ, died on Friday, January 28, 2011, at her home. She was born in Camden, NJ the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Maryanna Kopar Krynicki.

She was a full time resident here since 1962. She was the first "beach tag" person in Avalon and worked for the Boro for over twenty years selling beach tags; was cashier at the movie theatre and did hairdressing.

Alfreda was a member of the Maris Stella Church; an original member of the Polish American Club of Cape May County; was an avid line and polka dancer and enjoyed crocheting. She and her sister, Wanda also were involved with the USO during WWII.

She is survived by her husband of sixty four years, Stanley M.; her children: Lorraine M. Fucini of Wildwood; Christine A. Smiley of Cape May Court House and Michael S. (Barbara) of Marlton and a sister, Wanda Kaplan of Hamilton Twp., Atlantic County.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at 11 am at the Chapel of Maris Stella Church, 25th St. and First Avenue, Avalon, NJ of St. Brendan The Navigator Parish where friends may visit 10 to 11 am. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Research for Macular Degeneration, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.

Farrell, Thomas "Terry" P.

Thomas P. Farrell, "TERRY", 76, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011. Born in Philadelphia to the late William Thomas and Mary (Duggan) Farrell, he moved to Cape May County 15 years ago from Moorestown. He was formerly employed by Para-Chem in Philadelphia. He was the manager of the Little Club Soccer Team in Philadelphia. He loved cars, especially his 54 Chevy. He also enjoyed his vegetable gardens.

Mr. Farrell is survived by his son, Thomas Farrell; his brother, John Farrell; his sister, Mary Walsh; his three grandsons, Bryan Montgomery, Chad and Jesse Farrell; and his great granddaughter, Ashley Farrell.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Road, Cold Spring. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. Memorial donations may be made to Love of Linda Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260.

Gihorski, Beatrice A.

Beatrice A. Gihorski, age 78, of Woodbine, NJ, died on Thursday, January 27, 2011. She was born in Eldora, NJ the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Knoll Fowler. She was retired from the Woodbine Developmental Center as a laundary employee. She also had been a seamtress at Feit's Clothing and had driven school bus for the late Philip DeSantis. Bea enjoyed eating at McDonald's with her friends.

She is survived by her son, Michael H., Sr. (Penny); three sisters: her twin sister, Dorothy DeSantis (who is eight minutes older); Flora Isiac and Juanita Rizzo; three brothers: Edgar Fowler, Pete Fowler and Bobby Fowler; two grandsons: Michael H., Jr. and Sean R. (Ashley); one great grandson, Hunter; one aunt, Emma Trout and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 11 am at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ where friends may visit 9:30 to 11 am. Interment will be in Head of the River Cemetery.

Regan, Anne

Regan, Anne - 88, of North Cape May, passed away on January 20, 2011. She was a longtime resident of Cape May County. In her early years she was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader. Very active in her church, she started the JOY Program at the First United Methodist Church in Wildwood Crest. She was an advocate for the disabled and started the Cape May County Chapter S.W.I.M. Program, about to celebrate their 30th anniversary.

She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond J. Regan, Jr. and a loving daughter Joanne Shifflet. She is survived by a son, Raymond J. Regan, Jr., his wife Patricia Regan, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Graveside services at Veteran's Cemetery will be private at a later date.

Dykes, Loretta

Loretta L. Dykes, age 85 of Laurel passed away on Friday July 16, 2010 at Lifecare at Lofland Park in Seaford.

She was born in Salisbury on August 27, 1924, a daughter of the Late Charles Edward and Nettie Cantwell Davis.

Mrs. Dykes worked at the DuPont Company in Seaford for a short time, then dedicated

the rest of her life to being a wonderful housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active member of the Laurel American Legion Auxiliary Post #19. Where she served as the kitchen chairperson for many years, she was also the President of the Ladies Auxiliary from 1966-1968. Many family memories include her going to the casino and playing cards with her many friends. Her greatest love of all was being with her family that she loved so much.

Loretta is survived by her husband of 57 years, Fred Dykes. She has three children, Sylvia Rolison of Laurel, Garland Hornsby and wife Sherion of Seaford and Delores Palmer and husband Preston of Laurel. She has nine grandchildren, Fred, Jeff and Rick Marine, David, Kathy, Keith and Kevin Hornsby and Michelle Ross. 10 Great Grandchildren and one great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, a grandson and son in law.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West Street Laurel, DE 19956 on Wednesday July 21, 2010 at 2:00 pm, where a viewing will also be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel.

Bratcher, Jr., James Wesley

JAMES WESLEY BRATCHER, JR., 50, of Crisfield and formerly of Fordsville, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord on Monday, April 26, 2010 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.

Born in Crisfield April 29, 1959, he was a son of the late Linda English and James Wesley Bratcher, Sr. He made his home in Kentucky for 14 years, and moved back to Crisfield in 2003.

Wesley was a talented waterfowl carver who participated in many shows and competitions including the World Show in Ocean City and the Chesapeake Challenge in Salisbury. He loved fishing and turkey hunting and was a member of the Turkey Federation.

He was a member of New Covenant Tabernacle in Fordsville, Kentucky, and attended the Crisfield Wesleyan Church and Eastern Shore Evangelistic Church in Marion Station. Wesley was gifted singer, and enjoyed ministering in song at numerous churches throughout the area.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 28 years, Lori Leach Bratcher of Crisfield; two brothers, Jeff Bratcher and his wife Laura of Mississippi and David Marshall Bratcher of Morgantown, Kentucky; his nephew and nieces, Jacob Bratcher, Emily Bratcher and Lindsey Bratcher; his aunts and uncles, Helen and Reggie Wilson of Crisfield, Shirley and Edgar Hoops of Centertown, Kentucky, and Gene Tyler of Crisfield; his mother and father-in-law, James and Mary Jane Leach of Hartford, Kentucky; and many other cherished family members who loved him dearly.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Funeral services and interment will follow this weekend in Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Wes are requested to be sent to a charity of your choice.

Labo, Filipe "Philip" Labandelo

FELIPE LABANDELO LABO "PHILIP", 82, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore following a sudden illness.

Born in Manila, Philippines, he was a son of the late Faustino Laguador Labo and Esquiela Labandelo Labo. His wife of 55 years, Geraldine Frances McCready Labo, preceded him in death January 11, 2005.

Mr. Labo was a US Navy veteran who served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, retiring after 20 years of service in 1966.

He also was employed with Rubberset Corp. and Chris-Craft.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his pet dogs and cats and enjoyed feeding seagulls, fixing TV's, and boxing. He was also a boxer in the Navy.

He is survived by six children, Philip Labo (Danielle Lynn), Pansy Rayfield, Wayne Labo (Debbie), Monte Labo, (Mary), Mark Labo (Linda), and Duane Labo (Gayle Marshall), all of Crisfield; 12 grandchildren, Andrea Connell, Philip Labo, III "Moose", Maria Nelson, Krista Labo, Warner Rayfield, Jr., Scott Lee Rayfield, Jordan Wayne Labo, Jr., Joshua Labo, Rachel Labo, Jessica Lynn Labo, Mark Labo, Jr., and Kellie Labo; 16 great-grandchildren, Kendra Connell, Cubby Connell, John Philip Connell, Tiffany Labo, Philip Labo, IV "Moosie", Victoria Labo, "Peanut" Messick, Storm Messick, Noah Nelson, Kris Somers, Kayla Somers, Kamryn Somers, Aireana Rayfield, Megan Rayfield, Jacqueline Labo, and Lindsay Labo; one great-great granddaughter, Kayden Somers; his brothers and sisters, Liguya Labo Sobreo, Batriz Labo Dizon, Teodoro Labo, Magdalena Labo Fabunan, Luz Labo Silvestre, Francisca Labo Elefante, and Francilito Labo; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Warner Rayfield; two grandchildren, Rebekah Labo and Michael Ryan Labo; and his sister and brothers, Dolores Labo Delacruz, Avelino Labo and Ananatalio Labo.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home, where friends may call from 12 to 2 PM. Father William Porter, Rev. Jerry Hughes, and Rev. Robert Daniels will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park where military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be sent to Eastern Shore Evangelistic Church, P.O. Box 87, Crisfield, MD 21817.
