Moore, Doris E.

Doris Elizabeth Moore, 90 of Easton, formerly of Cambridge, passed away at the William Hill Manor in Easton on Saturday, February 20, 2010. She was born in Annapolis on February 12, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Smith Kramer.

She attended school in Annapolis, and graduated from Annapolis High School. For 38 years she worked as a hostess at Phillips Crab House in Ocean City. She retired in 2001. Mrs. Moore was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Cambridge, as well as the Cambridge Yacht Club. She resided at the William Hill Manor in Easton for the past eight years.

Survivors include a son Lee Moore and his wife Deanna Whited of Titusville, Florida, two granddaughters Amy Schossler and her husband Frank Schossler of Hilliard, Ohio and Laura Hendricks and her husband Jimmie Hendricks of Healy, Alaska, two great grandchildren A.J. Schossler and Emma Schossler both of Hilliard, Ohio and three nephews Frank Kramer, Steven Kramer and Richard Kramer.

Mrs. Moore requested there be no public ceremony. Her immediate family will celebrate her life in their own private way.

Final arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society and mailed to Mr. Christopher Boyle, Cruisers Relay for Life Team, 19 Sombrero Blvd, Slip 16, Marathon FL 33050.

Link, Shirley J.

Shirley J. Link, 70 of Cambridge, passed away at her home on Saturday October 9, 2010. She was born at Easton on September 17, 1940, and was a daughter of the late William Alexander Dyott, Sr. and the late Ida Mae Scott Dyott.

Shirley attended schools in Easton. She had worked at GNC in Easton, Cambridge and Salisbury, Wal*Mart and she had also worked as a waitress at English’s in Cambridge and Ayers Diner and had also worked as a bartender at the Holiday Inn in Easton. Shirley enjoyed going to yard sales and going to thrift shops. She was stricken suddenly at her home where she passed away.

Survivors include six sisters Betty V. Sard and her husband Ronald Sard of Preston, Cattie Larrimore of Easton, Agnes A. Kraus of Easton, Ottsie Dyott of Easton, Faye Aikenhead of Preston, Frances Murphy of Hurlock, four brothers William A. Dyott Jr. of Easton, James E. Dyott and his wife Carolyn Dyott of Port Ritchie, FL, Harold “Squirrel” Dyott and his wife Sue Dyott of Easton and Herbert S. Dyott and his wife Dianne Dyott of Easton and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Springhill Cemetery in Easton with Rev. Drew Jensen officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Larrimore, Bobby Kraus, John Larrimore, Mike Dyott, Craig Dyott, Steve Dyott and Ryan Kraus. Memorial contributions may be made to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601. Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.

Regan, E. Melva

E. Melva Regan, 88, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Baltimore on October 11, 1922 and was a daughter of the late Leroy and Eleanor Germeroth Trautfelter.

Mrs. Regan graduated from Southern High School in Baltimore. She was married to Ronald K. Regan. He passed away in 1998. She was an owner/ operator of an Antique dealership. She enjoyed collecting antiques. She was a member of the Cambridge Yacht Club, Cambridge Lodge #1272 B.P.O.E. Elks and Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW.

She is survived by a daughter C. Ellen Thomas and husband Frank Allan of Denton, her companion Ken Harvey of Cambridge, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Regan is preceded in death by a son Raymond Paul Kerger and three brothers and a sister.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Robert Gribbon officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will be private.

Preston, Joseph M. "JoJo"

Joseph Michael "JoJo" Preston, 21, of Cambridge passed away on July 26, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Cambridge on December 19, 1988 and was a son of Donna Barnes and Jody Preston.

Joseph attended schools in Cambridge and in Macomb, MI. he was previously employed for Allen Family Foods. Joseph liked to play basketball, video games and his favorite pastime was listening to music.

He is survived by his mother Donna Barnes and his stepfather David Barnes of Cambridge, his father Jody Preston and stepmother Brandi of Macomb, MI, two brothers Jason Robinson of Cambridge and Jacob Preston of Macomb, MI, a stepsister Ariah Hope Matos of Cambridge, maternal grandparents Betty and Leon Travers of Cambridge, paternal grandparents Keith Ted Preston and Patricia Preston of Roxbury, CT, several aunts and uncles Laura Laird and William Vasquez of Cambridge, Kathy Mowbray and Jeff Prahl of East New Market and Dusti Preston and her daughter Morgan of Weathersfield, CT, a nephew Jason Thomas Robinson of Cambridge, his fiancée Rebecca Williams of Cambridge, several cousins Michael Laird and fiancée Amanda Johnson of Cambridge, John Hastings and fiancée Anna Sampson of Cambridge, Jessica and Shawn Hitch of Cambridge, Shannon Mowbray who is serving in Iraq, Brittany Travers of Cambridge, Brandy Travers of Virginia and Ashley Brooke Greenhawk of Cambridge, his three best friends Kevon Spencer, Shawn Hill and Robin Middleton, Jr. all of Cambridge. Joseph is preceded in death by an uncle Leon "Boogie" Travers.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Prahl, Mike Hastings, Michael Laird, Robin Middleton, Jr., James Demby and Shawn Hill.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Cambridge Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.

Kinnamon, Robert D. "Bobby"

Robert D. 'Bobby' Kinnamon, 72 of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was born in Cambridge on January 12, 1938, and was a son of the late Brice G. and Carolyn Layton Kinnamon.

Bobby attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School 1957. While he was in high school he was quite active in sports and excelled in baseball, basketball, softball and football. On December 30, 1961 he was married to the former Geraldine Harrington. He had served in the U.S. Army as an M.P. and had served in Germany. Bobby had served on the Cambridge Police Department, Montgomery County Police Force and also on the St. Michaels Police Department. For a number of years he had worked at the Dorchester Co. Recreation & Parks. He later worked at the Eastern Shore Hospital Center for a number of years until he retired several years ago. Bobby started doing color commentary for Ed Brigham at WCEM and more recently he had worked as a sports announcer for MTS Broadcasting and broadcast Little League Baseball, Cambridge South Dorchester Vikings Football as well as broadcasting for numerous other sports teams. Bobby also had his own radio show 'Time Out With The Coach' and had worked with the Oriole's, Ravens and various other sports teams. He was a member of Dorchester Post # 91 American Legion. He and his wife loved to travel and had visited 48 states and was a lifelong New York Yankee fan. He also enjoyed reading about history, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to Navy games with his sister and family. Bobby also enjoyed going on day trips and breakfast with his high school buddies once a month. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had been in failing health for the past six weeks when he passed away on Sunday afternoon.

Survivors include his wife Geraldine Kinnamon of Cambridge, one son Brett Gerald Kinnamon of Cambridge, one daughter Kelly Dee Elzey of Cambridge, seven grandchildren Brandon Robert McMullen, Brooke Lynn Kinnamon, Kirby DeAnna Kinnamon, Brittaney Nicole Sard-Kinnamon, John Edward James, III, Braydin Michael Kinnamon, Nayloni Rose Kinnamon, two great grandchildren DeAnna Noel Kinnamon and Mark Wayne Pritchett III, one sister Christine Kinnamon Carter and husband Russell of Cape May, NJ, several nieces and nephews, two sisters in law Meg Kinnamon of Cambridge and Linda Hubbard of East New Market. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Phyllis E. Kinnamon and Constance 'Connie' Bramble, one brother Brice G. Kinnamon, Jr. and two brothers in law Irvin Bramble and Oliver Hubbard.

A funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the East New Market Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Cambridge Little League, P.O. Box 1275, Cambridge, MD 21613.Pallbearers will be Brett Kinnamon, Brandon McMullen, John E. James III, Russell Carter, Mark Burton, Shan Shariff, Brice G. Kinnamon, III, Bobby Kinnamon and John Harris. Honorary bearers will be Wayne Bromwell, Kenneth R. Thomas, Jr., David Bromwell, Hubert C. Trego, Davis Elliott, M. Hollie Smith and Jimmy Jones.

Willey, J. Carlton

J. Carlton Willey, 67 of Salisbury, formerly of Church Creek, passed away on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at Dove Pointe in Salisbury. He was born at Church Creek on May 25, 1943, and was a son of the late Emmitt Rastall and Marjorie Hilda Layton Willey.

Carlton attended schools in Church Creek and also at Cambridge High School. Some years ago he had worked with his brother cutting firewood and cutting grass. Carlton loved music, walking, going to Church and playing basketball. He had been in failing health for the past ten years when he passed away on Wednesday morning.

Survivors include four sisters Ellen W. Collins and her husband Dickie Collins of Harrington, Linda Reeves and her husband Dave Reeves of Rossville, GA, Katie Lloyd and her husband Eddie Lloyd of Cambridge and Sandy Niblett and her husband Pete Niblett of Cambridge, one brother William Emmitt Willey and his wife Ann Willey of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Pallbearers will be Roy Robinson, Rusty Lloyd, Jamie Niblett, David Whitby, Gary Smith and Pete Niblett. Memorial contributions may be made either to Dove Pointe, 1225 Mt. Hermon Road, Salisbury, MD, 21804 or to the Church of the Nazarene, 97 Sandy Hill Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.

Moxey, Kathi Michele Mills

Kathi Michele Mills Moxey, 37 of Woolford, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. She was born in Cambridge on April 28, 1973 and was a daughter of Cathy Abbott Donaldson and Daniel W. Mills.

Michele attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School as Valedictorian in 1991. She also attended and graduated summa cum laude from Salisbury University in 1995, with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. On March 19, 2004 she was married to Timothy S. Moxey, Sr. Michele had worked at Cambridge International for ten years as a computer software engineer and later she had worked at Easton Utilities as a computer software engineer. Michele enjoyed traveling, particularly taking cruises, camping and spending time with her children. She had been in failing health since January when she passed away at her home early Tuesday morning.

Survivors include her husband Timothy S. Moxey, Sr. of Woolford, one daughter Emily Hock of Woolford and five step children Scotty Moxey, Cody Moxey, Riley Shockley, Carley Shockley and Hillary Shockley all of Woolford. She is also survived by her mother Cathy A. Donaldson and her husband Jefferey L. Donaldson of Hurlock, her father Daniel W. Mills of Salisbury, two sisters Lauren Mills of Hurlock and Leigh-Anne Mills of Hurlock, maternal grandmother Mary Frances (Mom-Mom Eew) Dean of Wingate, maternal grandparents Mace and Darlene Abbott of Bishops Head, paternal grandparents Donald and Phyllis Mills of Bishops Head, grandmother Rosalie Bennett of Hurlock, mother and father in law Evelyn and Tony Rosetta of Taylors Island, three aunts Lynne Mills, Cherie Parry and Raye Abbott, three cousins Raven Bryan of Cambridge, Angela & Keith Purdum of Parksville and Bryan & Beth Abbott of Crapo, three sisters in law Karen Royer of Virginia, Donna Sanfino and her husband Ernie Sanfino of North Carolina, Mary Shellabarger of Salisbury and two brothers in law Tommy Moxey and his wife Doreen Moxey of Dundalk and Joe Moxey and his wife Geri Moxey of Virginia. She was preceded in death by a grandfather F. O'Neal Dean and two uncles Eddie Abbott and Michael Pritchett.

A funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Countryside Christian Church on Austin Road near Cambridge with Evangelist Phil Sutton and the Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Pallbearers will be Fred Christie, Scott Sears, Darnell Jacobs, Phillip Peerman, John White, Ted Book and Bart Shellabarger. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Biliary Cancer Research, c/o Dr. Pedram Argani, Johns Hopkins Hospital Weinberg / Room 2242, 401 Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231-2410, or to the Emily Hock Trust Fund c/o BB&T; Bank, 601 Crusader Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.

Kahl, Wm. Keith

W. Keith Kahl, 57, loving son, father, grandfather and brother, went home to be with Jesus early Sunday morning, February 28, 2010 with his children by his side. Keith was born in Cambridge on April 6, 1952, and was a son of Winifred Keplinger Kahl White, and the late William C. Kahl. Keith was the stepson of the late Ulman (Buster) White.

He attended Peachblossom Elementary School where he was a member of the Safety Patrol, and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1970. Keith had been a member of the Neck District Boy Scout Troop 406, and had also been on the high school lacrosse team. Upon graduation from high school he had worked for Monroe Parks as an electrician and also worked for Madewell Shops, Connelly Containers, Inc. of MD, then joined the firm of Johnson & Towers where he installed and serviced industrial generators, and also worked for Kelly Generator. Keith later worked for Coldwater Seafood in Cambridge until the plant closed. Keith, also known as 'Big Daddy', was a fantastic bowler. His strengths included a great talent, ability and patience. In the mid 1970's he began coaching youth bowlers on the Saturday morning bowling league, where he continued coaching. Many young people have grown with each lesson to become responsible leaders because of his thoughts and knowledge. On April 26, 1999 he achieved the Cambridge Bowling Center's first 300 game. Keith was also an avid golfer.

Keith was a member of Souls Harbor Church of God, where he had served as leader of the Young Peoples Endeavor in his younger years. He had also sung with his mother, step-dad and brother. Keith had also been a member of the Singles Club of the Church. Keith was an avid reader, and loved working on puzzles, especially Sudoku. He was always smiling and had a generous nature, always putting others before himself. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include his mother Winifred White of Cambridge, one son and daughter in law, Kevin Kahl and Stephanie Kahl of Cambridge, one daughter and son in law Melissa LeCompte and Jody LeCompte of Church Creek, three granddaughters, Jessica LeCompte, Jenna LeCompte and Jordan LeCompte of Church Creek, one step granddaughter Leighla Brown of Cambridge. He is also survived by a brother Kerry M. Kahl and his wife Dianne Kahl of Cambridge, three nieces Kerry Ann Todd and her husband Denton Todd, Kimberly Kahl and her fiancée Jon Taylor all of Cambridge and Kaitlyn Kahl and her companion Steve LaChette of Salisbury; one step brother Gregory U. White and his wife Cande of Berlin, two step sisters Susan Pete and her husband Roland Pete, Jr. of East New Market and Christine Foxwell and her husband Bill Foxwell of East New Market, one cousin Leonard E. Lednum, Jr., one great-nephew Lee Lednum, and his faithful companion, black lab Buddy. He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, maternal grandparents Fred and Mildred Keplinger, paternal grandparents Charles and Nellie Kahl, aunt and uncle Sylvia and L.E. Lednum and several more aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. J. Edward King officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Lee Lednum, Chris LeCompte, Mike Rossy, Jr., Mike Elliott, Steve Callahan, Guy Edgar, Arvie Ruark and Roger Boggess. Honorary pallbearers will be Grady Wilson, Mike Rossy, Sr., Denny Todd, John Taylor and Leonard Lednum.
