Helen West Ragains

Helen West Ragains, 100, of Salisbury, died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Salisbury Center Genesis Elder Care Born in Princess Anne, she was the daughter of the late Durant F. and Gertrude Howard West. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. "Cecil" Ragains.

Mrs. Ragains was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church in Salisbury and the Care Givers of the Wicomico Stroke Club.

She is survived by a two sons, Wayne C. Ragains of Salisbury, and Jerry E. Ragains and his wife, Gloria of Bivalve; grandchildren: Jay Ragains and Jill Reddick both of Salisbury; great-grandchildren: Alex Ragains and McKenna Reddick; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia West and a brother, Howard West.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 3 PM at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury. The Rev. Dr. Franklin Perry will officiate.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Allen Memorial Baptist Church, 231 N. Division St., Salisbury, MD 21801 or Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.

Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd., Salisbury, MD 218

Saddler, Effie Larry

EFFIE LARRY-SADDLER, died December 24, 2005 at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Elkton, MD. She was born July 13, 1913, in Lexington, Mississippi to the late Jack Larry and Leuna Mae Larry. She was one of 4 children.

She attended school in Mississippi, and at an early age was joined in Holy matrimony to her late husband Eddie Saddler, Sr. She took on the role as a housewife and mother of four children: two of which were deceased at birth -- a daughter and a son.

Grandma Effie is loved by all who knew her, and will be dearly missed. Thanks to the grace and mercy of a long Christian life, Effie Saddler has made us the proud family of six living generations.

She is survived by two sons Eddie Saddler Jr., Aberdeen, MD, and James Albert Saddler, Coaxbury, MD; daughter -in-law Mary E. Saddler, Aberdeen, MD; eight grandchildren: David L. Dorris, Alaska, Mary A. Blown, Aberdeen, MD, Donald R. Saddler, Alaska, Edward L. Saddler, Aberdeen, MD, Barbara A. Saddler, Aberdeen, MD, Don A. Saddler, Aberdeen, MD, Michelle E. Manning, Aberdeen, MD, Brenda K. Saddler, Aberdeen, MD; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great, great - great - great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many other relatives and friends to include an aunt; Mattie Williams, Greenville, Mississippi who is 100 years old.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brothers J.D. Larry, David Larry, Otis Larry and a grandson Roscoe Holmes.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Wednesday December 28, 2005 at Lisa Scott Funeral Home, P.A., 552 Lewis Street, Havre de Grace, MD where family and friends may call starting at 11 a.m.. Interment will private.

Sadler, Dolores A.

On March 13, 2005, Dolores Anne Sadler of Glen Burnie. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Sadler for 12 years and the late Ralph B. Carland of 29 years; Devoted mother of Ralph "Buster" Carland and Roger "Skip" Carland; Loving grandmother of three and great-grandmother of four.

A wonderful homemaker, Dolores loved gardening, crocheting and sewing.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the family owned Singleton Funeral Home. The funeral ceremony will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.

Salfner, Kathryn B.

Kathryn B. 'Sugar' Salfner, 76 of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at University of Maryland Specialty Hospital in Baltimore. She was born in Woodlawn on August 15, 1928 and was the daughter of the late John B. and Mary Lee Byrne.

Mrs. Salfner attended school in Baltimore and Catonsville where she graduated in 1946. On May 21, 1949 she married Leonard G. Salfner who passed away on February 23, 2004. She had work for C&P; Telephone Company.Mrs. Salfner and her husband moved to Dorchester County in 1986. She was a member of Post 88 29th Division Auxiliary.

Mrs. Salfner is survived by a son Gary Salfner of Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter, Laura Anne Salfner of Woodlawn, a sister Mary Lee Chollet of Tilghman, a brother John B. Byrne of Bishopville, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Cambridge Lodge #66 A.F. & A.M. Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 362 Cambridge, MD 21613.

Safrit, Lucetta Josephine

Lucetta Josephine Safrit, of Hurlock, known fondly as "Lucy", passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2003 at Memorial Hospital at Easton . She was 78.

She was born on April 13, 1925 in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Joe and Rhodata Edmond of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Eugene Safrit on February 29, 1996.

Lucetta held a position with the Eastern Shore State Hospital for almost 20 years. She was actively involved in the Channel Marker program following her retirement, and volunteered at Dorchester General Hospital as well. She later worked as a caregiver for the elderly for over eight years. She and her husband were both members of the Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg, MD.

Lucetta has resided at the Homestead Manor in Denton since June of 2002.

Lucetta is survived by her five children, Charles Fisher, Sandy Chessick, Nancy Stevens, Robert Safrit, and David Safrit, seven grandchildren, Chuck Fisher, Christy Breeden, Scott Moore, Daniel Moore, Bobby Safrit, Timmy Safrit, and Jessie Safrit and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Wanda Graham, and her two nieces, Cindy and Sandra.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at East New Market Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Foster officiating.

Arrangements entrusted to Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg.

Tanner, Juliandra Lynn

Juliandra Lynn Tanner, 46, died suddenly, Thursday, May 12, 2005, at her home in Pocomoke City, Md.

Born July 23, 1958 in Kingsville, Missouri, she was a daughter the late Bud Ryan and his wife Betty Ryan of Raytown, Missouri.

Mrs. Tanner worked for Ricca-East Chemical Company in Pocomoke City.

In addition to her step-mother, she is survived by her husband of 26 years Rick Tanner; two sons, Christopher and Jonathan Tanner; two brothers, Michael Ryan of Kansas City, Kansas and Keith Ryan of Kansas City, Missouri.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Paul Elligson, will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday May 15, 2005, at the Holloway Melson Funeral Home, 103 Linden Ave., Pocomoke City, MD, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at a later date.

Tami, Angela Marie

Salisbury - Angela Marie Tami, 90, of Salisbury died on Wednesday, May 30 2001. Born in the Greenwich Village Section of New York, New York on December 16, 1910 she was the daughter of the late Catherine and Louis Raffo.

Mrs. Tami completed Secretarial Studies after high school and begun a fourteen year career with DeCoppett and Carlisle, a New York Stock Exchange Member Firm.

In 1944, she married to Elio George Tami, also of Greenwich, New York, and continued working in a family owned business, Crown Decorating Corporation, based in New York, New York. She was also dedicated as a mother and homemaker.

Following the death of her husband of twenty-four years, Mrs. Tami moved from their residence in Scarsdale, New York to Salisbury, MD.

Mrs. Tami is survived by a daughter Jean Tami Dormer and a son in law, Dr. Bernard John Dormer of Salisbury, a son, Dr. Richard G. Tami and daughter in law, Joyce McKay Tami of Alexandria, VA, five grandchildren, Matthew Hardy Dormer of Rowayton, CT, Lindsay Marie Dormer of Middlebury, VT, Cristin Tami Stewart of Reston, VA, Scott Lee Tami of Rensselaer, NY and Lee Brandon Tami of Lynchburg, VA. A brother preceded her in death in 1968.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. The Rev. Edward M. Aigner, Jr. will officiate. Interment will be private in Woodside, New York. Friends and family may call on tonight from 6-8 P.M. at the home of her daughter in Salisbury.

Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733 or to St. Francis de Sales Parish, 514 Camden Ave., Salisbury, MD 21801 or the Alzheimer's Association, Eastern Shore Chapter, P.O. Box 2233, Salisbury, MD 21802. The staff of Bounds Funeral Home on E. Main St. in Salisbury is handling the arrangements.

Yancoskie, Bonnie Lou

Bonnie Lou Yancoskie, 64, of Girdletree, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at home in Girdletree, MD.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Holloway Funeral Home, P.A. in Pocomoke City.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.

Arrangements are being handled by the Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 103 Linden Ave., Pocomoke City, MD.
