Cantwell, Arthur B.
Arthur B. Cantwell, Jr., 86, of Laurel, formerly of Salisbury, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at the home of his daughter. Born in Princess Anne, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur B. Cantwell Sr. and Willie Dryden Cantwell. His wife, Bessie A. Cantwell died July 11, 1999.
Mr. Cantwell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delmar and the Salisbury Moose Lodge. He retired from Delmarva Power & Light Co in 1976 after 37 years of service. He also worked part-time for 7 years with Sweetheart Bakery. He is survived by four children: Arthur “Burt” Cantwell III of Dothan, AL, Sandra C. Cugler of Laurel, DE, Harry E. Cantwell of Lansing, MI, and John E. Cantwell of St. Paul, MN; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Davis.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2000 at 11:00 AM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Barry Devine will officiate. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.

Creighton, Shirley Anne
Parsonsburg: Shirley Anne Creighton, 57, of Parsonsburg died on Thursday February 1, 2001 at her home.
Born in Salisbury on April 24, 1943, she was the daughter of Ruth E. Bailey of Parsonsburg and the late Elwood C. Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Emerson Creighton, Jr. who died in March of 1999.
Mrs. Creighton graduated from Wicomico High School in 1961 and from the Peninsula General Hospital School of Nursing in 1964.
She was currently employed as a Registered Nurse stationed on two-south at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
She had been employed with P.R.M.C. for over thirty-six years.
She was a life long member of Zion United Methodist Church in Salisbury.
In addition to her mother, Shirley is survived by a daughter, Jamie L. Gilmore and her husband Larry of Hebron, two special grandsons, Travis and Hunter, a brother Gregg Bailey and his wife Terry of Salisbury, and their children, Brooks Bailey, Laurie Pearce and her husband Jason, and Kaitlin Bailey, a sister, Lorraine Conaway and her husband Bob of Parsonsburg, and their children, Scott Conaway and his wife Jill and their children, Miranda and Tyler, and Shelly Conaway, and a beloved Dobie “Crickett”.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the Bounds Funeral Home on E. Main St. in Salisbury where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
The Rev. Robert W. Miller and the Rev. Ike F. Ledger will officiate.
Interment will follow in Melson’s Cemetery near Delmar.

Jandak, Jr., Benedict J.
Benedict J. Jandak, Jr. of Federalsburg died on Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at Easton Memorial Hospital. He was 78. He was born on October 20, 1922 in New York City, New York the son of the late Benedict J. Jandak, Sr. and Marie Jandak.
He was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Marines from 1942 to 1945, and later retired from Gruman Aircraft as a mechanical draftsman in New York.
He is survived by his companion of over 22 years, Mildred Lord of Federalsburg, a daughter, Jennifer Jandak of Saulislita, CA, two sons: John Jandak of Parachute, CO, and David Jandak of Harrington, DE, and three grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2000 at 1:00p.m. at Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery, Federalsburg. Friends may call the Funeral Home from 7-9p.m. on Saturday and Sunday from 12-1:00p.m.
Ronneberg, Alma E.
Alma E. Ronneberg, 86, of Colora, MD, died Monday, February 19, 2001 at home.
Mrs. Ronneberg, a homemaker, was born on November 12, 1914 in Keansberg, NJ.
She is survived by 4 sons, John C. Ronneberg of Toms River, NJ, William F. Ronneberg of Kent, WA, Nicholas T. Ronneberg of Oldsmar, FL, and Conrad J. Ronneberg of Forked River, NJ; 3 daughters, Paula A. Piper of Hagerstown, MD, Martha L. Whelan of Ottumwa, IO and Cheryl Ronneberg-Haines of Colora; 26 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Ronneberg, who passed away in 1981 and 3 sons, Corp. Hugh J. Ronneberg, Carl F. Ronneberg and Robert F. Ronneberg.
Service will be held at 2 PM on Thurs. Feb. 22nd at R. T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Murphy, Sr., Rupert R.
Rupert E. “Dinky” Murphy, Sr., of Cambridge, passed away at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge after a lengthy illness.
He was 83.
He was born at Toddville on June 25, 1917 and was the son of the late Thomas Edward and Bertha Olive Jones Murphy.
He had attended schools at Toddville and also in Cambridge.
During WW II he had served in the US Army as a field scout.
He had served in Africa, Italy and Germany.
He had worked at the Dupont Company in Seaford for 32 years until he had retired.
On October 10, 1940 he and the former Louise Brohawn were married.
She passed away on January 5, 1981.
Mr. Murphy was a Past Commander of Choptank Memorial Post # 7460, VFW, a member of Dorchester Post # 91 American Legion, and Cambridge Lodge No. 1211 Loyal Order of Moose.
He had been in failing health for several years, and had been a resident at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge where he passed away.
Mr. Murphy is survived by a daughter in law, Frances E. Murphy of Hurlock, two grand daughters, Wendy M. Gauen of Smyrna, DE and Michelle R. O’Bier of Bridgeville, DE; two great grandchildren, Crystal L. Gauen and Corey A. O’Bier, one sister, Blondy Barnes of Cambridge, one brother, Creden Murphy of Wilmington, DE and a special friend, Irene Taylor of Maple Dam Road, near Cambridge.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a son, Rupert R. Murphy, Jr. and a brother, Clifford Murphy.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. David Wooten Willey officiating.
Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock.
