Dorothy C. Koch

Dorothy Claire Koch, 88, of 11338 Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of Jeffersonville, Ind., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at her home.

Born Jan. 7, 1909, in Jeffersonville, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ella Malay Knight.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Koch, in 1979.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Prior to moving to Hagerstown, she was a member of St. Augustine Church, Jeffersonville.

She is survived by one son, John B. "Jack" Koch of Hagerstown; two sisters, Helen Knight and Virginia Stemler, both of Jeffersonville; one brother, Clifton "Bud" Knight of Jeffersonville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two step grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Colleen McCormick.

Services will be at the convenience of the family at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Jeffersonville. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Church Cemetery, Jeffersonville.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Arrangements are by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

Arthur W. Crampton Sr.

Arthur William Crampton Sr., 63, of 300 W. Northern Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Aug. 17, 1934, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of Anna Davis Crampton of Hagerstown and the late Arthur H. Crampton.

He was a 1952 graduate of Hagerstown High School; and attended Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army with the military police in Bamburg, Germany.

He was employed at Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, also at Page Communications, Vienna, Va., Saigon, Vietnam, and Saudi Arabia as a contracts manager.

He attended Christ Reformed Church.

He was a member of Funkstown American Legion.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, Arthur W. Crampton Jr. and Jeffrey Nelson Crampton, both of Hagerstown and Thomas Crampton of Waldorf, Md.; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Nelson Crampton.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery, Sharpsburg. Military graveside services will be conducted by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary P. Heltzel

Mary Penny Heltzel, 74, of 242 Pangborn Blvd., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.

Born March 3, 1923, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Rosaria Prosper Dattilio.

Her husband, Paul Nevin Heltzel, died in 1996.

She attended New York University and graduated from Towson State College. She received her master's degree from George Peabody University in Nashville, Tenn.

She was employed by Washington County School System from 1950 to 1987, where she served in the positions of teacher, television instructor and principal. Following her retirement, she served as a volunteer, contributing more than 2,000 hours in the libraries and computer labs of Pangborn and Potomac Heights Elementary Schools.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, The Catholic Daughters of American and the Sodality.

As a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, she served as president of Pi Chapter in Hagerstown, and as a member of the bylaws committee for Alpha Beta State Organization. She also was active in Washington County Retired Teachers Association, Maryland Retired Teachers Association and Washington County Association of Elementary School Principals.

She also was a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 Auxiliary, Greencastle Sportsmans' Association and AARP.

She is survived by one sister, Grace Amendolara of Glen Cove, Long Island, N.Y.; six brothers, Louis Dattilio, Joseph Dattilio, Tony Dattilio and Carmon Dattilio, all of Hagerstown, Dominic Dattilio of Westminster, Md., and Paul Dattilio of Manchester, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Philomena Dattilio; and one brother, John Dattilio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 226 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. George A. Limmer as celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, or to American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Md. 21742.

Dorothy C. Koch

Dorothy Claire Koch, 88, of 11338 Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, who died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, was buried in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ind. The family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund, 17628 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Rita A. Knight

Rita Axie Knight, 81, of 17528 Cedar Lawn Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Western Maryland Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born Nov. 21, 1916, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Axie E. True Hill.

Her husband, Charles "Pete" Knight, preceded her in death.

She was employed by Fairchild Aircraft as a production planner, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of U.A.W. Local 842.

She is survived by one daughter, Adele R. Rice of Cumberland, Md.; one son, John P. Fletcher of Hagerstown; one stepdaughter, Inez Gay of Sharpsburg; one sister, June McAllister of Hagerstown; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Murray, Grace Robertson, Rose Mitchell and Stella Exline; and two brothers, James Hill and Jack Hill.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Anne O. Weatherholt will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Marie H. Wiles

Marie H. Wiles, 69, of 55 E. Washington St., Hagerstown, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 28, 1928, in Mount Lena, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Calvin and Ruth Irene Schroyer Faulders.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Maxine Marie Butler of Middletown, Md., and Roxanne Hawes of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one son, Kenneth Edward Wiles Jr. of Smithsburg; two sisters, Inez I. Crow of Halfway and Agnes E. Barnes of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salvation Army, P.O. Box 747, Hagerstown, Md. 21741.

Arrangements are by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

Henry F. Raduazo

SHARPSBURG - Henry Fred Raduazo, 85, of 16717 Taylors Landing Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Feb. 12, 1912, in Concord, N.H., he was the son of the late Rafaelo Raduazzo and Angeline Delvisco.

He was employed by the United States government as a patent examiner, retiring in December 1976 after 36 years.

He was a member of Greenbelt Community Church, Greenbelt, Md.

He also was a member of Elks Lodge in Hagerstown, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Rosetta West Raduazo of Sharpsburg; five daughters, Carolyn A. Hogue and Ruth H. Raduazo, both of Bowie, Md., Dorothy R. Raduazo and Sara L. Hutchings, both of Riverdale, Md., and Susan R. Rambo of Mitchellville, Md.; three sons, H. Edward Raduazo of Alexandria, Va., Charles F. Raduazo of Annapolis, and Fred J. Raduazo of Hyattsville, Md.; two sisters; two brothers; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Lewis; two sisters; and five brothers.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. J. Norman Mayer will officiate. Burial will be in Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord, N.H., on Monday, Jan. 5.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Memorial donations may be made to Greenbelt Community Church, 1 Hillside Road, Greenbelt, Md. 20770.
