William A. Parlette Jr.

William Andrew Parlette Jr., 66, of Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown, and formerly of 915 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at Ravenwood Lutheran Nursing Home.

Born March 9, 1931, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late William Andrew and Gladys Evelyn Reese Parlette Sr.

He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft and Rohr Industries, retiring in 1991.

He attended Broadfording Brethren Church.

He was a member of Red Men Conococheague Tribe 84 of Williamsport, and AARP.

He is survived by three daughters, Millie P. Kauffman of Mount Joy, Pa., Diana Swan of Manheim, Pa., and Phyllis Dixson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one son, William Andrew Parlette III of Bushtown, Pa.; one sister, Mildred Mellott of Funkstown; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate.

Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 407 Central Ave., Reisterstown, Md. 21136; or to Kidney Foundation of Maryland, 1107 Kenilworth Drive, Baltimore, Md. 21204.

Bruce Wright

A memorial service for Bruce Wright, 57, of Wolfsville, Md., who died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Myersville Baptist Church, U.S. 40, Myersville, Md.

Pastor Wayne Spear will officiate.

A fellowship will follow the service at the church.

Charles A.E. Saufley

NEWARK, Del. - The Rev. Charles A.E. Saufley, 92, of 11 Croyden Road, Glendale, and formerly of the Chambersburg, Pa., and Mercersburg, Pa., areas, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at his daughter's home, where he resided.

Born June 12, 1905, in Rockingham County, Va., he was the son of the late T.J. and Ada F. Dennett Saufley.

He was a 1928 graduate of Huntington College in Huntington, Ind.

He was a missionary in Sierre Leone, West Africa, where he met and married missionary Ruth Bidwell in 1932. She died in 1994.

After his missionary work, he pastored churches in Virginia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, including Criders Church, Mount Olivet, St. James, Salem, Pleasant Hill and Penn Mar, all United Brethren churches in the Franklin County, Pa., area.

He is survived by three daughters, Lois Reese of Newark, Marilyn Wright of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Muriel Knouse of Shippensburg, Pa.; two sons, Aldean Saufley of Cap Haitien, Haiti, and Duane Saufley of Houghton, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Salem United Brethren Church.

The Rev. John W. Shubert will officiate.

Burial will be in Salem United Brethren Cemetery, Greene Township, Franklin County.

Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to American Bible Society, 1865 Broadway, New York, N.Y., 10023-7505.

Jason A. Carroll

Jason Andrew Carroll, 14, of 920 Salem Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at his home.

Born July 27, 1983, in Hagerstown, he was the son of George David and Pamela Dawn Carroll.

He attended Western Heights Middle School.

He was a member of National Youth Duckpin Association since 1988, and bowled on the Junior League at Long Meadow Bowl.

He played minor league baseball for West End Little League for five years.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Daniel Richard Carroll, at home; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Fishack of Hagerstown; and paternal grandparents, David L. and Mary C. Carroll of Hagerstown.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard M. Fishack.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

The Rev. Darryl C. Zoller will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dream Come True, 1201 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21742.

Mildred L. Penzickes

Mildred L. Penzickes, 87, of 1158 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of 18911 Dover Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village Assisted Living.

Born Aug. 10, 1910, in Braddock, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Bobb Cibula.

She was preceded in death by her husband Constantine Penzickes.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Braddock, Pa.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at William Penn Cemetery, Forest Hills, Pa.

The Rev. Ronald Johnson will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

ANNE KEOGH SENFTLE

A long-time resident of N. Chevy Chase, MD passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of 60 years of Frank E. Senftle; loving mother of Mary (Frank) Somogyi, Anne-Francis Senftle, Joseph (Tina) Senftle, Frank P. Senftle, Theresa (James) Quine and Patrick (Catherine) Senftle; grandmother of Kenneth Somogyi, William Somogyi, Rebecca Logsdon, Matthew Senftle, Michael Quine, Patrick Quine, Timothy Quine, Kevin Quine, Melissa Senftle, Shannon Senftle, Thomas Senftle, Anita Senftle, Tess Senftle and Luke Senftle. Also survived by six great-grandchildren and 18 nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Clare (George) Larin, Patrick Keough, and Joan (Donald) Waters. He was a US Marine Corp veteran serving in the South Pacific during WWII and later a steamfitter and member of Local 602 Heating, Piping and Refrigeration Union. Beloved husband of the late June Arlene Morrow; father of Judy Ann Shore and the late John L. Morrow, II; grandfather of Shannon (Malcolm) Warner; great grandfather of Riley; brother of Alfred, James and Vincent Morrow; father-in-law of Russell Shore and Sharon Morrow.
