Age 75, of Altoona, Florida, formerly of Gaylord and Fair Haven, died March 13, 2001. Mr. Hill was employed by Ford Motor Company, served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of Fair Haven Eagles Club, VFW Post 8087 of Eustis, Anchor Bay Sportsmen Club of Fair Haven, and the NRA. He is survived by his wife, Lila; sons, Edward of Tennessee and Leonard and Thomas Pitrucelle, both of Fair Haven; daughters, Gayle Grattan and Ann Marie Riopelle, both of Texas and Shirley O'Neal of North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard of Warren. Services have been held. Arrangements were made by Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis, Florida.
WANETA IVA ELAM
Age 66, of Richmond Township, died March 21, 2001. Mrs. Elam is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Cryderman of Richmond and Linda Kingery of New Haven; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sister, Elinor Blackmon of Lenox. She was predeceased by her son, Douglas. Services were held in Tiffany-Young and Hauss Funeral Home, Armada, with the Rev. Marion Pohly officiating. Burial was in Centennial cemetery, New Haven. ETHEL M. BLEIL
Age 73, of Marysville, died April 4, 2001. Mrs. Bleil is survived by her husband, Leon; daughters, Darlene Beins of Saginaw, Diana Haines of Washington Township and Doreen McCarthy of Commerce Township; sons, James of Texas and Daniel of Colorado; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Milo Tosch of Texas; and sister, June Comfort of Chesterfield Township. She was predeceased by her sons, William Damp and David; and brother, Melvin Tosch. Services were held in Marysville Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dellis W. Hudson, Chaplain of Blue Water Hospice, officiating. Burial was in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Mount Clemens. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
JOYCE E. HEWELT
Age 74, of New Baltimore, died April 5, 2001. Mrs. Hewelt is survived by her daughters, Karen of Fair Haven and Bonnie Palombit of New Baltimore; son, Scott of China; three grandchildren; and sister, Julie Young of Madison Heights. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank. Cremation has taken place. Burial was in Gethsemane cemetery, Detroit.
ADELINE E. EMIG
Age 90, of Marine City, died April 3, 2001. Mrs. Emig was employed by McDonald Plastics, New Baltimore, and was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Marine City. She is survived by her daughters, Pauline Farenger of Sterling Heights and Karleen Eisch of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl. Services were held in Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Troy Waite of St. Martin's Church, officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, Marine City.
HELEN R. FISHBURN
Age 66, of Harsen's Island, died April 1, 2001. Mrs. Fishburn is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Pamela Gruber; and two grandchildren. Services were held in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Harsen's Island, with the Rev. Buel Eldridge officiating. Burial was in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East. Age 59, of Clay Township, died March 30, 2001. Mrs. Jasmund was a member of the Post Polio Support Group. She is survived by her husband, Frederick; daughter, Kathleen Parker-Kamulski of Grosse Pointe Farms; sons, Lynus Parker of Novi and Kevin Parker of Flushing; five grandchildren; brothers, Joseph, Salvatore and Peter; and sisters, Catherine and Theresa. IRENE DUTCHAK
Age 76, of Clay Township, died March 31, 2001. Mrs. Dutchak was a member of Algonac VFW Post 3901, Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Arthur; daughters, Theresa Swejkoski, Marcia Mubarez and Cindy Polak; four grandchildren; brothers, Ted and Stanley Hodor; and sisters, Charlotte Staba and Jean Bugaj. She was predeceased by her brother, Bruno Hodor. Services were held in St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Algonac, with the Rev. Douglas Bignall officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn cemetery. LYDIA M. NAEYAERT
Age 93, of Marine City, died April 1, 2001. Mrs. Naeyaert was retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 25 years, operated her own gift shop, and was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Columbus Township, the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, and Cherry Beach Seniors. She is survived by her daughters, Lorraine Naeyaert of Marine City, Donna Krzymecki of Memphis, Eva Paull of Rogers City and Lorraine Englebreckt of Roseville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Alma Sherman of Gladwin. She was predeceased by her husband, Jacob; children, Loren Stern, and Harold, Earl, Jacob and Lawrence Naeyaert; and brother, Edwin Yanke. Services were held in St. Philip Neri Church, with the Rev. Francis A. Zielinski officiating. Burial was in St. Philip cemetery. Arrangements were made by Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City. Memorials may be made to Cherry Beach Senior Center.
ROBERT AUGUST KOSS SR.
Age 84, of Marine City, died April 6, 2001. Mr. Koss was retired from the Hofley Manufacturing Company as a machinist/brakeman, and also worked for the DSR in Detroit as a bus driver. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Marine City, the Usher Club, K of C Council 856 of Marine City, and the Old Newsboys. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughters, Lucretia Ann Karo of Bloomfield Hills, Claudia Jones of Berkley and Rosalie Balfour of Marine City; son, Robert of Clinton Township; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom, Jerry, Bill and Chuck Doyle; and sister, Rita Finley. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marguerite and Dolores; and brother, Francis. Services were held in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, followed by Mass in Holy Cross Church, with the Rev. James R. Wysocki officiating. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Activities Center or Southeastern Michigan Conservation Club.
RODNEY R. REEVES
Age 51, of Port Huron, died April 1, 2001. Mr. Reeves is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Rodney of Kimball; daughter, Christina of St. Clair; two grandchildren; brother, Doug of Almont; and sister, Lynda LaVere of Port Huron. Age 86, of Marysville, died March 31, 2001. Mrs. Brougham was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose Chapter 99, and the International Shipmasters Association, Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Lee of Warren, and Connie Hanel and Rose Norton, both of Port Huron; son, Clyde Noble of Oklahoma; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters. She was predeceased by her husbands, Glen Brougham, Irwin Heythaler and Eugene Noble; and children, LaVern, Larry and Sidney Noble and Gloria Sturgeon Hyde. Services were held in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Marysville, with the Rev. Bill Bandert officiating. Burial was in Riverlawn cemetery, Marysville. JEAN L. SAWDON
Age 77, of Marysville, died April 3, 2001. Miss Sawdon was employed by Grace Hospital as a laboratory supervisor, taught mathematics at Wayne State University and was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and a volunteer at the Mid-City Nutrition program. She is survived by her brothers, Jack of Port Huron, Edwin of St. Clair and James of Washington; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elaine Schroeder and Shirley Chateau. Services were held in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Bill Bendert officiating. Burial was in Riverlawn cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
