CAROLY SUE HAMMER, Age 56, of Allegan died Oct. 18, 1999. Ms. Hammer is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Clemente of Livonia; sons, Robert Rhodes of Algonac and Timothy Rhodes of East China; three grandchildren; mother, Myrna Hammer of Allegan; brothers, Richard of Allegan, Terry of Pullman, Ken of Chesterfield, Carl of Martin, Robert of Gobles and Larry Jr. of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Larry. Services were held in Gordan Funeral Home, Allegan.

WILLIS E. BRINKMAN, Age 67, of Marine City died Oct. 30, 1999. Mr. Brinkman retired from the U.S. Air Force as technical sergeant; was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict; he was a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service before retiring. He was a member of the Marine City United Methodist Church. Mr. Brinkman is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Glenn of three grandchildren; brothers, Robert of Texas and Irving of California; sisters, Irene Amstad of Arizona and Paulette Anderson of Minnesota. Services were held in Marine City United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donna J. Osterhout officiating. Arrangements were made by Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City. Burial was in Memphis cemetery, Memphis.

BEULAH Z. SMITH, Age 88, of Algonac died Nov. 1, 1999. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Juanita Ebeling of Marine City and Jeanetta Jackson of Tawas City; sons, Ronald and Bobby, both of Marine City; a brother, Jack Crumby of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Oscar, and a grandson Michael Guzinski. Services were held in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, with the Rev. Harvey W. Reh officiating. Burial was in White Chapel cemetery, Troy.

VICTOR HERMANN HALL, Age 74, of Marine City died Nov. 3, 1999. Mr. Hill was retired from the Marine City Water Department as a wastewater pollution control superintendent. He was a veteran of World War II in the Pacific Theatre serving in the U.S. Army; and was a member of the Francis Bashore Post 3129 VFW in Marine City. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Elsie; daughters, Paulette Kissee of Wisconsin, Victoria Glenn of California, Valorie Hill and Velinda Yax, all of Algonac, and Tricia Bauer of Flint; sons, Robert of Columbus and Raymond of Marine City; brother, Raymond of Wisconsin; sister, Adeline Smith of Wisconsin and Marie Bunch of Maryland; and nine grandchildren. Services were held in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, with Pastor Gerhardt A. Doroh officiating. Burial was in Rosehill cemetery, East China.

JACOB ALEXANDER WALKER
Age eight weeks, died Jan. 25, 2001. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Angela of Chesterfield; grandparents, Danny and Joy Doss and John and Roberta Halt, all of Chesterfield, Art and Debbie Heinzman of Tennessee and Marty and Cindy Walker of Marine City; great-grandparents, Esko Barnard of Tennessee, Alice Ettinger of West Bloomfield, Atha Walker of Harsen's Island, A.J. and Ruby Doss of Warren and Alton and Elaine Schwark of Ray Township; and great-great-grandmother, Rea Kitts of Tennessee. Services were held in Murphy and Hauss Funeral Directors, Macomb Township, with the Rev. Gregory Lorenz of St. Peter Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.

JEN ELIZABETH WIER
Age 49, of Richmond, died Jan. 27, 2001. Mrs. Wier was the former owner of a pet sitting service, and was a member of Blue Water Miniature Horse Association. She is survived by her husband, Donald; step-daughter, Kelly Wier of Casco; parents, Robert and Barbara Vivian of Milford; and brothers, Stephen Vivian of Southfield and Kevin Vivian of Rochester Hills. Services were held in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Memorials may be made to Leader Dog for the Blind, Paws for a Cause or the Cat Connection.

GARY R. LIPKE
Age 52, of Casco Township, died Jan. 31, 2001. Mr. Lipke served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, and was a member of the VFW and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Peters. He is survived by his parents, Russel and Pearl Lipke of Casco Township; sisters, Nancy Zielinski of China Township and Carol VanTroostenberghe of Columbus Township. Services were held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Peters, with the Rev. Jonathan Bomgren officiating. Arrangements were made by Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China. Burial was in St. Paul's cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.

NIGERIA JEANE' MCQUEEN
Infant, died Jan. 24, 2001. She is survived by her parents, James Reinhardt and Ebony Mack of New Haven; sister, India Reinhardt; grandparents, Jeanette Mack, Dewey Thompson, Gloria Reinhardt and Herman Mack Sr.; great-grandmother, Mandy Shedrick; and many aunts, uncles, family members and friends. She was predeceased by her grandfather, James McQueen Jr.; and great-grandparents, Addie McQueen, Cecil Shedrick and James McQueen Sr. Services were held in Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, New Haven, with the Rev. John Mack officiating. Arrangements were made by Duncan-Olszewski Funeral Home, New Haven. Burial was in Centennial cemetery, New Haven.

JACK KENNETH CROOKS
Age 80, of Mount Clemens, died Jan. 29, 2001. Mr. Crooks was retired from Lou Capp Construction Company as a carpenter, served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Amvets post 52, New Baltimore. He is survived by his daughters, Alyce Oswald of Fair Haven, viola Fleming of Mount Clemens and Susan Bommarito of Louisiana; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathryne; son, Patrick; and brothers, Paul, Ray and Donald. Services were held in Christie-Olszewski Funeral Home, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Paul Xeureb officiating. Burial was in Fort Custer National cemetery, Battle Creek.

IRENE S. BETTCHER
Age 87, of New Baltimore, died Jan. 31, 2001. Mrs. Bettcher is survived by her daughter, Shirley Tinson of New Baltimore; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Weil of New Baltimore; sisters, Viola Hartl of Tennessee, Evelyn Farker of Macomb Township, Edna Royl of New Baltimore, Loretta Izwarski of West Branch and Winifred Duetsch of Casco. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd; and brothers, Lewis and Harold. Services were held in St. John Lutheran Church, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Edgars Petrivics officiating. Arrangements were made by Christie-Olszewski Funeral Home, New Baltimore. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, New Baltimore.

DOLORES J DELCOL
Age 60, of Benton, Illinois, formerly of New Baltimore, died Jan. 22, 2001. Mrs. DelCol was employed by MacDonald Manufacturing, New Baltimore, and was a member of Benton Baptist Church. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Lutes of Chesterfield, Jessie Bridges of Ira, Carolyn Tighe of Algonac and Betty Trotz of New Baltimore. She was predeceased by her husband. Services were held in Gendernalik Funeral Home, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Joseph P. Berna of First Baptist Church, New Baltimore, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, New Baltimore. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Diabetes Foundation.

CHARLES HENRY BELL
Age 86, of Algonac, died Jan. 28, 2001. Mr. Bell was retired from Chris Craft Corporation in Algonac and Ohio and was an outstanding high school athlete. He is survived by his son, Charles R. of Northville; one granddaughter; and special friends and caregivers, Kathy Venderheyden and Helen Stokes. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline "Liz"; and daughter, Sheila. Services were held in Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac, with the Rev. Robert Wagner officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn cemetery, Algonac.

MARY LOU GUYOR
Age 72, of Algonac, formerly of Marine City, died Jan. 26, 2001. Mrs. Guyor was a member of Holy Cross Parish and the Cherry Beach Seniors. She is survived by her daughters, Lou Anne Hick of Marine City, Mary Beth Pyrzewski of St. Clair and Cindy Guyor of Algonac; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Maxwell of Redford. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis; brothers, Bernard, Lawrence, Arthur, Dennis and Steven Stockwell; and sisters, Betty Ashley and Jeanne Doktor. Services were held in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, followed by Mass in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial was in Rosehill cemetery, East China Township. Memorials may be made to Cherry Beach Senior Center.

PHYLLIS JUSTA
Age 79, of St. Clair, died Jan. 28, 2001. Mrs. Justa is survived by her sons, Gerald and Richard, both of Smiths Creek and Sanford of Marine City; daughters, Constance Kellum of Gladwin and Deborah Casey of St. Clair; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Agatha Delor of East China Township; and brother, Emory Emig of Arizona. She was predeceased by her husband, S. Don; brother, Norvall Emig Sr.; and sister, Fern Galos. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Township.
