NAOMI A. MOORE
Naomi A. Moore, 89 of Sarasota, Florida passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the M & M - A.F.C. Home in Marlette, Michigan.
She was born January 26, 1916 in Snover, Michigan, daughter to the late Oscar and Anna (Teets) Buschlen.

She graduated from Sandusky High School and attended Michigan Normal College where she received her teaching certificate.

She taught at Marlette and St. Louis High Schools.

She married Doyle L. Moore in 1941. He passed away on August 11, 1979.

In 1946, she and her husband established the Moore Ice Cream Co. in Marlette.

She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Sarasota, Florida and in Marlette, Michigan.

She was a former President of the United Methodist Woman’s Club in Sarasota, Florida and also was a past Treasurer of the A.A.R.P. in Sarasota.

She was a member of the Philomathean Club in Marlette.

She is survived by sons, Larry and Barbara Moore of Marlette, MI. Robert and Mary Moore of Ocala, Fl. and Lenard Moore of Nokomis, Fl.; daughters, Virginia and James Gulsby of Attalla, AL. and Marilynn and Steve Shaw of Sarasota, Fl.; brother, Dwight and Mary Lou Buschlen of Riverside, Ca.; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doyle; daughter, Barbara; brother, Merrille; sister, Eunice and grandson, Jeremy.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 23, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Pastor Daniel Bowman of Marlette United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial was in the Mooretown cemetery in Snover.

Memorials may be donated to the United Hospice Service or Marlette First United Methodist Church.

RAYMOND B. BURNISON
Raymond B. Burnison, 85, of Zephyrhills, FL. and Reese, MI. went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2006. He was born in Wellington, IL on January 18, 1921, to the late Benjamin & Elizabeth (Royer) Burnison.
On November 13, 1943, he married Alvena Fischer. She survives him. He retired from GM-Saginaw Steering Gear in 1982. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons: Robert (Charlene) of Sanford, MI, Dr. Thomas (Jacklyn) of Delores, CO., Harold (Cynthia) of Fairgrove, MI and Charles (Gayle) of Reese, MI. He also left behind eleven grandchildren: Michael (Harry, Jr.) Gaiser, Michael, Carly, and Daniel Burnison, Katherine, James, and Kelly Burnison, and Lisa (Paul) Hodgkinson, Angela, Benjamin, and Cara Burnison and one great grand daughter, Madison Hodgkinson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Vernon.

He was actively involved in the Lutheran Hour, Our Savior Lutheran Church, the Amateur Ham Radio Club of Zephyrhills, the National Registered Holstein Dairy Association, and the Michigan Farm Bureau. He also volunteered for the Saginaw County Social Services Organization. He helped establish and was a charter member of two churches: Peace Lutheran Sandusky, MI. and Chapel of the Lakes Mecosta, MI.

He had a steadfast love for family, remained an active member of our Savior Lutheran Church and Grace Lutheran Church, and had served the Lord in any way he was able. He will be profoundly missed by his family, and his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Memorial services will be conducted at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5626 20th Street, Zephyrhills, Fl. on January 25, 2006, at 11:30 am and at Grace Lutheran Church, Hinson Road, Fairgrove, MI. on January 30, 2006, at 11:00 am. The family will also be receiving friends at the Grace Lutheran Church, Fairgrove, MI. on January 29, 2006, from 2 pm to 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lutheran Hour, Our Savior Lutheran Church or Grace Lutheran Church.

JOYCE W. BYRNES
Joyce W. Byrnes, 72, passed away Monday, January 9, 2006 at her home in Marlette, Michigan. Mrs. Byrnes has lived in Marlette since 1962 and was previously from Mayville and California.
She was born January 8, 1934 in Mayville, Michigan, daughter to the late Marion and Gertrude (Sheloski) Bacon.

She graduated from Mayville High School in 1951.

After high school, she completed Bowers Modeling course where she studied ballet dancing. She then took some business training classes and worked in Los Angeles, California for ten years as a Bookkeeper for Standard Oil Co., and Southern California Gas and also was a homemaker.

She married Paul M. Byrnes on March 30, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio. He passed away in a auto accident on March 14, 1971, in the same accident Joyce was permanently disabled and never worked again.

She is survived by son, Eric Byrnes of Marlette, MI.; daughter, Heather and Scott Hobart of Cincinnati, OH.; sisters, June Morrison of Marlette, MI. and Jean and Barry Gilcrest of Calabass, OH. and five grandchildren, Harrison, Sumner, Benson, Ella and Anna Hobart all of Cincinnati, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Gertrude Bacon; husband, Paul; brothers, Jimmy and Robert Bacon and sister, Evelyn Bader.

Funeral services was conducted on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette with Pastor Arnold Burger officiating.

Burial was in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette.

Memorials may be donated to the family.

ULA M. ROGGENBUCK
Ula M. Roggenbuck, 83, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Marlette Community Hospital Hospice House in Marlette.
Mrs. Roggenbuck was a life long resident of Marlette.

She was born January 1, 1923 in Marlette, Michigan, daughter to the late William and Mae (Brown) Cooper.

She married Robert Attridge, He passed away September 21, 1966. She married James Roggenbuck. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1994.

She worked as a cook for the Marlette Community Hospital for 25 years.

She enjoyed to cook, work in the garden, doing yard work and, most of all, her family.

She is survived by brother, Bill and Sandi Cooper of Marlette, MI.; sister, Ruthaleen and Clare Richardson of Marlette, MI.; niece, Charlene and David Gingell of Brown City, MI.; nephews, Bill Sorensen of Brown City, MI., Phil and Jenny Cooper of Marlette, MI., Larry Ingalsbee of Beulah, MI. and Ronald and Shirley Cooper of Marlette, MI.; great nephews, Fredrick and Dustain Gingell of Brown City, MI. and great nieces Chelsea, Alexia BreAnn Cooper of Marlette, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mae Cooper; husbands, Robert Attridge and James Roggenbuck; sisters, Normaleen Sorensen and Una Ingalsbee and brother James Cooper.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Rev. Doug Richards officiating.

Burial was in the Marlette cemetery.

Memorials may be donated to the United Hospice Service or God News Assembly of God Church.

REV. JOHN E. LARKIN
Rev. John E. Larkin, 91, of Lapeer, Michigan, former minister of the Bethel Church of C.M.A. in Marlette, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2006.
Rev. Larkin had lived in Lapeer for the past three years and was previously from Vermilion, Ohio and Marlette.

He was a graduate of Nyack Bible School in New York.

He married Beula Moyer on December 23, 1941 in Fremont, Ohio.

He was pastor at the Bethel Church of C.M.A. in Marlette from 1962 to 1979. He also was a mail carrier in Marlette, drove school bus for Marlette Community High School for many years and was a Shaklee representative.

He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, reading, going up north to the cabin in Grayling and, most of all, his family.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Larkin of Lapeer; sons, Pastor John and Carol Larkin of Jackson, MI., Rick Larkin of Lapeer and Rod and Danette Larkin of Lapeer; brother, Bob and Rose Larkin of Washington, PA.; sisters, Virginia and Bill Orndoff of Manifold, PA and Gail Hart of Houston, PA.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Larkin; brothers, Dave, Delmar and Harold and sisters, Vera, Grace and Leila.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bethel Church of C.M.A. in Marlette with Pastor John Larkin and Pastor Peter Rufener officiating.

Burial was in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette.

Memorials may be donated to the Bethel Church of C.M.A. or Christian Missionary Alliance.

JOHN M. (JACK) STAMP
John M. (Jack) Stamp, 89, a life long resident of Marlette, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at his home.
He was born September 8, 1916 in Marlette, Michigan, son to the late William and Nora (Tyler) Stamp.

He married Effie Angus on May 28, 1938 in Marlette. She passed away on October 21, 2003. He married Evelyn Gabler on February 14, 2005 in Cass City.

He was a life long area farmer and was a member of the Marlette First United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed traveling, dancing, reading news and medical papers, farming, coffee in the morning at McDonald’s and, most of all, his family.

He is survived by his wife ,Evelyn of Marlette: two sons, Tom and Deanna Stamp of Marlette, MI. and David and Diane Stamp of La Porte, IN.; a daughter, Judy and Richard Wood of New York City, NY; two step sons, Michael and Deb Zmierski of Cass City, MI. and Mark and Becky Zmierski of Caro, MI; three step daughters, Angela and Dr. Craig Noble of Summerville, SC, Teresa and John Enos of Elk City, ID and Deanne and Charles Brown of Midland, MI.; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Stamp of Belleville, MI.; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and fifteen step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nora Stamp; wife, Effie and son, Dr. James Stamp.

Cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan. A memorial service celebrating his life was held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Marlette United Methodist Church in Marlette, with Pastor Daniel Bowman officiating.

Memorials may be donated to the United Hospice Service or Marlette First United Methodist Church.
