LOIS ELAINE LATIMER
Lois Elaine Latimer, 75, of Howell, formerly of Marlette and Lexington, MI, died Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Medilodge of Howell.
She was born on September 12, 1930 in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of Stephen A. and Margaret (Carrier) Bradbury.

She retired from the Department of Social Services for the State of Michigan. She is survived by her children, Marian Latimer of Marlette: Anne Latimer of Fowlerville; Margaret Paul of Clinton Township: Elaine (Dan) Schmidt of Illinois; John (Rissa) Latimer of Gaylord; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and sisters, Joan Sicard of Lexington and Nancy Kean of Novi.

Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, 315 N. Michigan Ave., Howell (517-546-2800).

Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at a later date. Burial will be in North Branch Burlington cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Maine Coon Rescue Senior to Senior Program, 304 First St. W., Franklin, Kentucky, 42134.

COLLEEN ELAINE KITCHEN
Colleen E. Kitchen, 61, of Deford, Michigan died Friday, December 9, 2005 at the Marlette Community Hospital Hospice House in Marlette. She and her husband have lived in the Deford area for 21 years.
She graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1962. She married James B. Kitchen on August 17, 1963 in Pontiac, Michigan.

She worked as a Nurses Aid for many years in the Cass City nursing homes.

She enjoyed traveling in her motorhome, treasure hunting with a metal detector and, most of all, her family.

She is survived by her husband, James Kitchen of Deford, MI.; daughter, Lori Hehn of Jacksonville, FL.; grandson, James Corbine of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. and brother James and Carol Richardson of Grand Blanc, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son Brian Kitchen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 12, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Pastor Richard Brown of the Kingston United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in the Kingston cemetery in Kingston, Michigan.

Memorials may be donated to the United Hospice Service.

Casketbearers included Bill Ross, James Darland, Jeff Ricardson, Ray Evans, Ace Stachowiak and James Richardson.

NELSON F. STREETER
Nelson F. Streeter passed away on October 24 at the Kindred Care Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was 79. He was a former resident of Marlette.
He was born on November 23, 1925 in Port Huron, MI. He was the only child of the late Elsie and Alfred Streeter.

He was Marlette's primary sign artist through the 1960's and into the 70's. Some of his signs are still in use throughout the city.

He was involved in a number of local activities, among those being a volunteer ambulance driver.

He is survived by six children (all formerly from Marlette): Ron Streeter, of Syracuse, NY, Rick Streeter of Pt. St. Lucie, FL, Michelle Streeter (Berends) of Columbus GA, Tom Streeter of Atlanta, GA, Kurt Streeter of Mississippi and Jay Streeter of Marlette, as well as eight grandchildren.

Cremation took place in Atlanta.

Memorials may be made to the donation of your choice.

CLARA MARION KILBOURN
Clara Marion Kilbourn, 81, of Marlette, died Friday, December 2, 2005 at her home in Marlette, Michigan.
She was born October 30, 1924 in Hamtramck, Michigan, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Chiszek) Kloc.

She was a lifelong resident and active member and active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, and member of the St. Elizabeth Alter Society.

She married Lye (William) Kilbourn on May 26, 1945 in Burnside.

She is survived by her husband Lyle (William) Kilbourn of Marlette, Charlotte Stone (daughter) of Milford, Brenda & Cris Strickler (daughter) of Marlette, Joseph & Gerry Kloc (brother) of Marlette, Lillian Mott (sister) of Marlette, Helen Osinski (sister) of Sterling Heights, Theresa Collins (sister) of North Branch, Julie Kucharski (sister) of Clinton Twp. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by sons, Donald and Lyle.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 5, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Marlette with Fr. Reginoldo Salcedo officiating.

Burial was in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette.

Casketbearers were Kevin Kilbourn, Michael Kilbourn, Jamie Stamp, Allyn Strickler, Nathan Strickler, Matthew Strickler and Benjamin Stone.

Memorial suggestions to Hartland Hospice, or the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements by Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette.

BERNARD F. WELCH
Bernard F. Welch, 72, of Marlette, passed away Friday, October 21, 2005 at his home.
He was born on August 11, 1933 in Peck, Michigan. He was raised by Russell and Lula Welch.

He was a lifelong area resident and member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Brown City.

He served his country in the United States Army.

He married Ila Jean Christensen on August 4, 1943 in Angola, Indiana.

He was a carpenter and worked for 20 years at Oetiker Corp, Marlette. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union #998 of Berkeley, MI.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, square dancing, traveling and especially watching his grandchildren in sporting activities.

He is survived by his wife, Ila; a son, Carl and Norma Welch of Brown City; daughters, Arlene and Jeff Bartoe of Florida, Darlene and Brian Goff of Marlette and Helen and Erick Muxlow of Brown City; two brothers, Leo and Betty Welch of Milford and Jim and Judy Welch of Peck; two sisters, Nellie Cook of Brown City and Helene and Gerry Green of Yale; 12 grandchildren, Melissa, Sara, Deanna, Bradley, Lacey, Tyler, Stacy, Danny, Ricky, Randy, April and Jessika and six great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Raymond and a sister, Mildred Bloomfield.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Brown City with Rev. Joyce Johnston officiating. Interment was at Juhl cemetery, Marlette.

Casketbearers included Cpl. Bradley Jens Dawson, Danny Goff, Mike Morningstar, Ricky Muxlow, Randy Muxlow and Brian Welch.

Military honors were performed by the Sandusky VFW.

Memorials suggestions include the Ronald McDonald House in Detroit or the Trinity Lutheran Church, Brown City.

LOUISE V. WARNER
Louise V. Warner, 86, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan with her son Ronald by her side. She had been in failing health the past several years.
Tyyne Viola Louise (Abrahamson) Warner was born May 27, 1919 in Grand Marais, Michigan, to Axel Abrahamson and Hilja (Kanervo) Abrahamson. She was raised as one of five children on a farm in the Grand Marais area and graduated from Grand Marais High School on May 27, 1938.

Louise married Ervin Milton Warner on October 17, 1942 in Grand Marais in a double wedding ceremony when her sister Aino married Russell Nesbit. Ervin preceded her in death on June 30, 1993.

Surviving are her sister Aino of Sandusky, Michigan; son: Ronald (SueAnne) of Ceresco, Michigan; daughter-in-law Patricia Warner of Marlette, Michigan; seven grandchildren: Melissa King and Sarah (Jamie) Sheldon of Marshall, Michigan, Ivy (Kurt) Vogel of Yale, Michigan, Tammy (Gary) McClelland of Marlette, Michigan, Christopher (Connie) Warner of Homer, Michigan, Jason (Dina) Warner of Decker, Michigan, and Michael (fiancée Rachelle Lansky) Warner of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and ten great-grandchildren: Cody, Casey, and Corey Warner; Megan King, Keri, Brian, Justin, and Travis McClelland, Jaycob Roberts, and Nicole Richardson.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, brothers Armas and William, sister Elma, son Alden, niece Sandra, and nephew Warren.

Louise lived briefly in the Detroit area and spent most of her adult life in the Sandusky, Decker, and Marlette area of Sanilac County. She worked as a bookkeeper at Dawson’s and later worked at The Metal Craft Corporation. She took great pride in her homemaking skills and especially her vegetable gardening and ability to grow house plants. In her later years she moved to the Marshall area and was a member of the Battle Creek Health System Auxiliary where she participated in the Sewing Circle Guild and Tray Favor Guild.

She was a life long Lutheran being baptized, confirmed, and married in First Lutheran Church, Grand Marais. Most of her adult life was spent as a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Sandusky and in her final years she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall, Michigan.

The funeral service was conducted at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 21 at Peace Lutheran Church, 92 Flynn Street, Sandusky, M. The Rev. David Bodecker, Pastor of The Christ Lutheran Church of Marshall, MI, officiated. Interment was at Greenwood cemetery, Sandusky, MI.

M. RUTH BELTZ
M. Ruth Beltz, 89, passed away Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Lake Orion Nursing Center in Lake Orion, Michigan.
Mrs. Beltz has lived in Marlette, Michigan since 1935 and was previously from the North Branch and Royal Oak, Michigan area.

She was born October 27, 1915 in North Branch, Michigan daughter to the late Milo and Ina (Butterfield) Fitch.

She graduated from North Branch High School in 1934.

She married Earl R. Beltz on March 3, 1935 in Marlette, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1983.

She was the bookkeeper for Huntoon Lumber Company for 20 years, retireing in 1980. She was a member of the original Gray Lady’s Auxiliary at the Marlette Community Hospital, she also was a former board member of Koylton Twp. and was in various neighborhood clubs.

She enjoyed watching TV, traveling, cooking, music, knitting, and, most of all, her family.

She is survived by daughter, Ann and Ronald Goetzke of Lewiston, MI.; sons, William and Muriel Beltz of Oxford, MI., James and Wanda Beltz of Attica, MI. and Thomas Beltz of Marlette, MI.; brother, Ora Fitch of Greenback, TN., five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Clarence Fitch.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Sister Marion Harvey officiating.

Interment will be in the Marlette cemetery.

Memorials may be donated to the Marlette Community Hospital Center of Rehabilitation or the Hospital Lady’s Auxiliary.

Visitation will be held on Thursday night from 7 pm to 9 pm and Friday from 1 pm to 9 pm at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette.
