RUTH C. KELLY
Ruth C. Kelly, 91, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at her home. She was a life long area resident.
She was born on June 23, 1911 in Marlette, daughter of the late John and Annie (Harkness) Anderson.

She graduated from Marlette High School in 1930.

She married Harold Kelly in 1935 in Marlette. He preceded her in death in 1984.

She is survived by one son, Loren and Linda Kelly of Kingston; three grandsons, Kevin and Melissa Kelly of Kingston, Brent and Melissa Kelly of Kingston and Kraig and Karyn Kelly of Pinckney, MI; three great-grandchildren Taylor, Ali and Brenna Kelly of Kingston; and a special fiend, Lori Bolsby of Croswell, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Howard and Larry Kelly; and three brothers, Lee, Harold and Gordon Anderson.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette with Pastor Art Wright of the Lamotte Missionary Church officiating. Interment was in Marlette cemetery.

Pallbearers were LaVern Anderson, Eugene Anderson, Jerry Anderson, George Richmond, John Richmond and Ted Roberson.

Memorials may be made to the United Hospice Service or Lamotte Missionary Church.

NICHOLAS GALKIN
Nicholas Galkin, age 90, of Marlette, Michigan died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at Covenant Health Care Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.
Mr. Galkin live in Marlette, Michigan for 21 years and was previously from the Detroit area.

He was born April 15, 1912 in Russia son to the late Samuel and Mary Galkin.

He married Wanda H. Diber June 25, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away May 13, 2001.

Mr. Galkin worked for McGraw Glass Plant Chrysler Corporation for 30 years until his retirement in 1972.

He was a member of the Bethel Church of C.M.A. in Marlette.

He is survived by one son Nicholas and Marilyn Galkin Jr. of Lapeer, MI, one daughter Betty and Richard Kondrath of Livonia, MI; one son-in-law Richard Ustick of Livonia, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and daughter Eleanor Ustick.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2002 at 1:00 pm at Bethel Church of C.M.A. Marlette with Rev. Peter Rufener officiating. Burial will be in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette.

Memorials may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Flint Chapter.

Casket bearers-Nick Ustick, Rich Ustick, Chris Ustick, Josh Bradford, Nathan Galkin and Nicholas Galkin.

Visitation was held Tuesday 7 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday 1 pm to 9 pm at the Marsh Funeral Chapel and Thursday 12 noon until the time of service at the church.

REUBEN M. ARZOOMANIAN
Reuben M. Arzoomanian, 94, of Clifford died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at Marlette Community Hospital in Marlette, Michigan.
He was born August 9, 1907, in Turkey the son of the late Minas and Ruth Arzoomanian.

He was a graduate of Highland Park High School.

He married Helen Goshgarian on December 16, 1962 in Highland Park, Michigan and moved to this area in 1969 from Detroit, Michigan.

He worked and retired from the Kelvinator Refrigeration Co.

Reuben was a past member of the Clifford Lions Club.

He is survive by his wife Helen, one son, Kenneth Johnson of Orion; one daughter, JoAnne Johnson of Clifford; two step sons, Gary Arzoomanian of Detroit, and Steven Arzoomanian of Texas, and 1 grandson Seth Johnson.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Visitation was held at Clifford Baptist Church in Clifford.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at 1:00 pm at Clifford Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy Rich officiating.

Burial was held in the West Burlington cemetery in Silverwood.

Memorial request to the organization of the Donors Personal Choice.

MARIE E. BOKINSKIE
Marie E. Bokinskie, 82, of Long Prairie, MN. and a frequent visitor to Marlette, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 20, 1919 in Long Prairie, the daughter of the late Louis and Hattie (Neumann) Bruder.

She married Albin (Al) Bokinskie at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in 1945.

She grew up in Long Prairie, moving to Detroit, Michigan in 1942. She was employed by Kroger Co. grocery chain in the payroll department. She retired in 1978 and returned to Reynolds Township, rural Long Prairie, moving into town in 1993. Her hobbies included watching sports of all kinds, gardening, playing cards, fishing and traveling.

She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, St. Mary's Christian Women, a Minister of Praise and Mercy and Long Prairie Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include a son, Father Rick Bokinskie of Marlette; a daughter, Cheryl Bokinskie, Maple Grove, MN.; one brother, Marvin Bruder, New Prague, MN.; three sisters, Florence Donally, Long Prairie, Margaret (Mattie) Perlick, Coon Rapids, MN. and Louis Baumann, Bird Island, MN; a brother-in-law, Jerome Bokinskie, Ogden, Utah; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Arnold, St. Paul MN. and Muriel Bruder, Tracy, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albin Bokinskie who passed away on May 6, 1992; one sister, Jeanette Voges; and four brothers, Romaine and Raymond Bruder and two infant brothers.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Long Prairie with Father Rick Bokinskie, Father Mark Stang, Pastor and Father Ron Dombrowski officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery, Long Prairie.

A Memorial Mass will be scheduled soon at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Marlette.

Casketbearers were Robert Bruder, Brian Bruder, Jeremy Perlick, Chuck Perlick, Pat Perlick, Jason Perlick, Duane Ostrowski and Tom Voges.

ROBERT J. NEU
Robert J. Neu, 59, of Kingston, passed away Friday, July 19, 2002 at the Caro Community Hospital in Caro, Michigan.
He was born on January 13, 1943 in Lexington, Michigan son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Wagner) Neu.

He graduated from Carsonville High School in 1960 and lived in the Kingston area since 1967.

He married Patricia Howard on February 3, 1962 in Port Sanilac, Michigan.

He worked for Saginaw Division G.M. for 30 years until his retirement in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Neu of Kingston; a daughter, Tina (Dan) Maust of Caro, MI.; brothers Ronald (Nadine) Neu of Marlette and Jacob (Jan) Neu of Asheville, N.C.; sisters, Barbara Sopha of Sandusky and Carolyn (Gene) Falls of Port Sanilac; and grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan Maust of Caro.

A memorial service was conducted Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, in Sandusky with Pastor Thomas Beachy officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Seaton Cancer Center-Marlette or the family.

MARY LOUISE TRAXLER
Mary Louise Traxler, 78, of Flint, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Traxler was born November 22, 1923 in Marlette, MI.

She married William Traxler in October of 1981 and they have lived in Flint for 20 years, coming from Marlette.

Mrs. Traxler was employed as a legal secretary in Marlette for 17 years, a controller for Halo Burger in Flint for 17 years and co-owner and operated Antenna World with her husband.

She was a former member of the Church of Christ.

She us survived by her husband, William of Flint; daughter, Carol Traxler of Flint; four step-children, Dennis Traxler of Marlette, Judy and husband Dale Callaghan of Brighton, Julie and husband Ted Fish of Fayetteville, AR, Mark and wife Patti Traxler of Franklin, TN; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her step-son, William Traxler, Jr.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 13, 2002 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek.

Interment was held in Marlette cemetery, Marlette, MI.

SANDRA K. ROBERTSON
Sandra K. Robertson, 57, of Decker, Michigan passed away Monday, July 8, 2002 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan.
She lived in Decker, Michigan for 20 years and was previously from Honor, MI.

She was born on May 6, 1945 in Muskegon, MI., daughter of the late Edward and Allie (Lillie) Baatz.

She married Max Robertson on June 14, 1962 in Buelah, Michigan.

She is survived by her husband, Max Robertson of Decker; three sons, Thomas Robertson of Alaska, Tim and Elizabeth Robertson of Sandusky, MI. and Thad Robertson of Alaska; a daughter, Debra and Matthew Fischer of Marlette; a brother, Bill and Nancy Dugas of Goodrich, MI., a sister, Barbara and Keith Sattler of Jenison, MI.; two aunts, Olive Lilly of Honor, MI. and Anna Snow of Traverse City, MI.; and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Robertson; a daughter, Tammy Robertson; and a brother, Delbert Baatz.

Cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.

There will be no service.

Memorials may be given to the family.

Arrangements by Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette.
