David E. Walcott, age 78, of Byron Center, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. David honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and spent most of his time serving in Germany. He went on to work as a tool and die maker until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, camping, and spending time at Sandy Pines. Preceding him in death are his parents, Harold and Gladys Walcott, and brother-in-law, Marvin Lyon. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Berdean; his children, Denise Walcott, Brian (Angie) Walcott; grandchildren, Kahlan and Issac Walcott; sisters and brother, Valerie Lyon, Richard (Jane) Walcott, Beth (Al) Palmer; several nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Friday, June 16, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 17, at Woodhaven Reformed Church, 3959 68th St. SW, with Pastor Steve Petroelje officiating. There will be a time of visiting prior to the service from 11 - 11:45 am. Interment in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodhaven Reformed Church.

BULTMAN, CHARLES - GRAND RAPIDS, MI
Charles Nathan Bultman, age 44, beloved son of Dick and Valerie Bultman, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Charles is also survived by his sister, Ellen (Kenneth) Sudduth; brother, Ryan (Bethanie) Bultman; special friend, Kate Stearns-Bedford; nine nieces and nephews. Charles was born on November 2, 1972, and graduated from Wayland Union High School. A long time employee of Comcast, Charles was an avid bicyclist and loved to take his two huskies, Snow and Sadie, outside for a run/ride. Charles was predeceased by grandparents, Neil and Myrtle Bultman, Paul and Pauline Voogd, and niece, Grace Bultman. Visitation will be held at Stroo Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, March 30, at Green Lake Calvary Church, 608 - 145th Ave., Caledonia, with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Interment will be in Hooker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition (GGRBC) at bikegrandrapids.org, or Pine Rest Residential Addiction Services at pinerest.org.

Jerry Robert Wall, age 56, of Byron Center, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wall. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Steenstra) Wall; his children, Nicole and Quentin Wall; mother, Shirley Wall; sister, Janice (Mikal) Briggs; brother, Scott (Lori) Wall; many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 28, at Byron Center First Christian Reformed Church Fellowship Hall, 2450 85th St. SW. The service will be followed by a time of visitation from 11:30 - 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Joseph J. Pavlak, age 75, of Kentwood, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Joe honorably served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Wanda Pavlak. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Nancy; his children, Audra (Tom) Young, Lori (Daryl) Hobbs, Scott (Rachel) Pavlak; grandchildren, Jenny, Amanda (Aaron), Kristina, Faith, Angeline, Victoria, Aiden, Avery, Asher, Kaydence; sisters, Virginia (Mike) Rolph, and Janice (Al) Pruim. The family will greet visitors on Tuesday, May 30, from 11:30 am - 1 pm at Heritage Baptist Church, 1570 60th St. SE, where the funeral will begin at 1 pm. Pastor Dave Graef will officiate. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church Mission Fund or Faith Hospice.

Matthew J. Roberts, age 33, of Ada, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Roberts; and a baby brother, Justin. He will be lovingly remembered by his father, Richard Roberts; brother, Andrew (Marissa) Roberts; three nephews and one niece; and his foster mother, Janet Turner. There will be visitation on Thursday, May 18, from 10 - 11 am at Grand Rapids First, 2100 44 th Street SW, where the service will begin at 11 am. Pastor Kerry Watts will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Rapids First Benevolence Fund.

OWEN - Barbara Ann Owen, aged 89, of Alto, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband George; infant son, Daniel E. Owen; parents, George and Katherine Faber; sisters, Madelyn Spaak, Jean Tilma and brother-in-law, Robert Tilma. Barb will be greatly missed by her children, David and Jane Owen, Kathy and George Grucz, Karen and Roger Ohlrich, Daniel Owen and Patty Janes; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Maynard “Sparky” Spaak; and many other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Barbara drove school bus for Calvin Christian Schools/Godwin Christian Schools for many years. She loved to knit and crochet and made afghan’s for all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. George and Barb spent their retirement at the cottage on Big Star Lake and their trailer at Good Life RV Park in Mesa, AZ. The past 1 and a half years Barb was a resident at Crystal Springs Assisted Living Center and made several friends with the residents and nurses. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Caledonia Christian Reformed Church, 9957 Cherry Valley Ave., SE; with Rev. Merlin Buwalda officiating. Interment in Garfield Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Barb may be made to Caledonia Christian Reformed Church Christian Education Fund. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marian J. Post, aged 87, of Kentwood, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Her husband, Wilbert “Bill” Post, preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, Charlie (LouAnne) Post, Brent (Kim) Post, Lynne (Jim) Worst; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, June (Robert) Lewis; sister-in-law, Shirley VerBeek; many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, February 15, at Gaines Church, 1612 92nd St. SE, Caledonia, MI 49316, with Rev. Kelly Burnside officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marian may be made to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Angela M. Jorgensen, age 84, of Kentwood, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 10, 2017. In 1963, Angela proudly become a U.S. citizen. She enjoyed needle point, sewing, and loved cooking her homemade Italian food. Her husband, Harry, preceded her in death. She will be loving remembered by her children, Terry Jorgensen, Larry (Mercy) Jorgensen, Lori (Sam) Gibson; her grandchildren, Matthew Kitler, Lorenzo Jorgensen, McKinley Jorgensen, and Anna Jenica Gullos. The funeral service will be held 10:30 am Friday, February 17, at Stroo Funeral Home. Interment in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
