Russell Clos, 40

Russell G. Clos, 40, of St. Michael passed away suddenly on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at his residence.

He was born August 20, 1970 in Minneapolis the son of Edward & Carol Vrbicky Clos. Russell graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1988. He currently was attending Hennepin Technical College in Eden Prairie.

On June 6, 2004, Russell G. Clos and Jessica A. Kittelson were joined in holy marriage in Little Falls.

He enjoyed the out-of-doors and loved to hunt, fish and to go snowmobiling.

Russell was employed as an IT support person at Regis Corporation.

Survived by: loving wife, Jessica Ann Clos; son, Russell Clos Jr. of Englewood, Colorado; daughter, Kayla Lorraine Clos of Stillwater; son, Gage Edward Clos at home; father, Edward (Karen Robnik) Clos of Wright; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis and Jo Ann Kittelson of Little Falls; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Denise (Guy) Barr of Park Rapids, Jay (Lori) Kittelson of Monticello; nephews and a niece, Kenny Barr and Mac, Ella and Micah Kittelson; aunts, Dorothy, Cathe and Susan; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his mother, Carol.

A Memorial Service for Russell G. Clos took place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville funeral home. Pastor Mark Loder officiated. A time of gathering was held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for Russell's children will be established at Highland Bank in St. Michael.

The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home is serving the family.

Marseilla Scheie, 87

Marseilla E. Scheie, 87, of St. Louis Park passed away on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at her residence.

She was born on May 30, 1923 in Winthrop the daughter of William and Myrtle Rabens. Marseilla graduated from Montrose High School.

On July 19, 1945, Marseilla Rabens and Art Scheie were joined in holy marriage at her parents homestead North of Montrose. God blessed their marriage with two sons.

Marseilla was formerly employed at several banks in the metro area and she also drove school bus in St. Louis Park. She enjoyed camping, fishing and was a fabulous baker.

Survived by: loving sons, Bill (Debbie) Scheie of St. Louis Park and Bruce (Dawn) Scheie of Montrose; grandchildren, Sonya Scheie, Andrew Scheie and fiancee Keisha, Erich, Ian and Jacob Scheie; sisters, Bernice (Les) Huston of Coon Rapids, Norma Babatz of Spring Park, and Carol (John) Berg of Buffalo; a sister-in-law, Harriet Rabens; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by: husband, Art Scheie; her parents; a sister, Lucille Epple; two brothers, Merrill Rabens and Gordon Rabens; and by a brother-in-law, John Babatz.

Funeral services for Marseilla Scheie took place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the United Methodist Church in Montrose. Pastor Jef Olson officiated. Interment followed at the Kreidler Cemetery in rural Montrose. A visitation took place at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo on Monday, Nov. 22 from 4-8 p.m.

Casket bearers: Andrew Scheie, Erich Scheie, Ian Scheie, Jacob Scheie, Sonya Scheie, Bob Epple, Jim Epple, and Ken Hruska.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Judith Seibert, 72

Judith "Judy" Seibert, 72, of St. Michael. A graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in education. Longtime substitute teacher in District # 877.

Enjoyed being a grandma, painting, dogs, movies, cooking, and being with friends. Former retail employee of the Albertville mall. A former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo.

Survived by: children, Jeff (Kelly) Seibert of Big Lake, Jenny (Dean) Hager of Afton and Patrick Seibert of Mound; seven grandchildren, Drew and Jack Seibert, Natalie, Nicole and Carly Hager, and Caleb and Carson Seibert; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Winters of Leesburg, Florida; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by: her husband, Pete; her parents, Art and Marjorie Winters; and by a brother, Jack Winters.

Funeral services for Judith Seibert were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22 at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Neldo Schmidt officiated. Diane Johnson was the organist for the funeral service, and Lisa Ebnet was the soloist. Interment followed at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation was held at the church on Monday at 11:00 a.m. until time of services.

Casket bearers: Jeff Seibert, Patrick Seibert, Dean Hager, Larry Swenson, Jake McCullough, and Jeff Hopkins.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Elizabeth Williams, 43

Elizabeth L. "Liz" Williams, 43, of Rockford. died on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses.

She was born Sept. 18, 1967 to James and Annabelle (Knott) Mathis in Huntington, West Virginia.

Liz was a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annabelle Mathis. Liz is survived by her husband, Trevor; daughter, Margaret; and her father and step-mother, James and Liz Mathis.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano. Pastor Matt Sipe of the Delano United Methodist Church officiated at the services. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Mary Anne Geary, 85

Mary Anne Geary, age 85 of Maple Lake, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Most Reverend William Bullock, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Madison and Fr. Michael Izen officiating. Burial was in St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to the service, Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Mary Anne Geary was born April 22, 1925 in Maple Lake to Loren and Anne (Raiche) Bullock. She graduated from Maple Lake High School and went on to receive her teaching degree from the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul and St. Cloud State University. Mary Anne taught in elementary schools in Melrose, Annandale and Maple Lake before spending most of her teaching career in Buffalo. She was united in marriage to George Matthew Geary on June 30, 1949 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1992. Mary Anne was an active and lifetime member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. She loved and enjoyed being with her family most of all. Mary Anne was a big Minnesota Twins baseball fan and enjoyed crossword puzzles. As a lifetime teacher, she continued to teach and to touch the lives of others.

She is survived by her son, John Geary of Cokato; daughters and their spouses, Colleen Geary Carter and William Carter III of St. Paul and Rebecca and Michael Ludenia of Maple Lake; brother, Most Reverend William H. Bullock; sisters, Adelaide Bullock and Elizabeth Bullock, both of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Patrick, Mark and Bridget Carter, Kevin (Jessica), Janel and Scott Ludenia; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Aspyn Ludenia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Anne; husband George; and brothers, Clifford and Leonard Bullock.

Urnbearers were Mary Anne's six grandchildren. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Sarah Goelz provided the music for the service.

Arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.

Mabel Hohl, 91

Mabel Emma Hohl, age 91, of rural Buffalo, passed away on Friday, September 17th, 2010 at Park View Care Center.

She was born on March 23, 1919 in Rockford Township, Wright County the daughter of Fred and Augusta Rentz.

Mabel was baptized on May 18, 1919 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover by Reverend Beiswanger. She was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on July 31, 1932. Her catechism instruction was entirely in German.

On January 27, 1945, Mabel E. Rentz and Harold C. Hohl were joined in holy marriage at the parsonage at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover by Reverend Otto Herder. The couple celebrated fifty years of marriage and were blessed with two children: Sharlyn and Darsey.

Mabel and Harold were longtime dairy and hog farmers. Harold preceded his wife in death on August 22nd, 1995.

Mabel enjoyed playing music, creating oil paintings, and baking wedding and birthday cakes. She also enjoyed her garden, her orchard and being a mother and farm wife.

She was a faithful, lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.

She is survived by loving children: Sharlyn (Dwight) Whittlef and Darsey (Cindy) Hohl all of Buffalo; grandchildren: Betsy (Brian) Mevissen and their children: Ella and Norah Mevissen; Leesa Whittlef and Stacy Whittlef, Juliana Hohl and Jason (Amber) Hohl; a sister-in-law: Esther Whittlef of Minneapolis; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Mabel was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Augusta Rentz, a sister: Regina Marschel and by two brothers: Edward and Raymond Rentz.

A visitation for Mabel Hohl was held on Monday, September 20th from 4-8 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. A Prayer service was held at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation was held one hour prior to service at the church.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 21st at 4:00 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Pastor Gorden Estenson officiated. Interment at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Colleen Johnson was the organist for the funeral service.

Casket Bearers were grandsons: Jason Hohl and Brian Mevissen and nephews: Elwood Rentz, Rodger Marschel, Larry Whittlef and Gary Colden.

Honorary Casket Bearers were granddaughters: Betsy Mevissen, Leesa Whittlef, Stacy Whittlef, Juliana Hohl and Amber Hohl.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Ralph Hunt, Jr., 87

Ralph Osman Hunt, Jr. 87 of St. Michael, formerly of Howard Lake and Dassel, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Legacy Memory Care Center of St. Michael.

Ralph Osman Hunt Jr. was born May 16, 1923 in Clarion, Iowa to Ralph and Alma (Hanson) Hunt. His family moved to Minneapolis in 1928 where Ralph attended Washburn High School. He was inducted into the United States Army in December of 1942. He served in the 563rd Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Tank Company where he did automotive and tank maintenance. In September of 1944 he was shipped overseas and served in France, Belgium and Germany and was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. Ralph was discharged on Veterans Day, November 11, 1945. He attended Minneapolis Institute of Art and was a talented artist in charcoal and pencil portraiture.

Ralph was united in marriage to Alice Hedstrom in November of 1946 in Minneapolis. Ralph owned and operated the Texaco Service Station and later he and Alice owned and operated Hub Hobby at the Hub Shopping Center in Richfield from 1960 through 1975. They then moved to Dassel in 1976 where Ralph manufactured model airplane kits. He drove the Special Education School Bus in Dassel for 11 years. In 1993 they moved to Howard Lake. He especially enjoyed woodworking, making fine cabinets and furniture. He also made small original wood crafts and doll house furniture. Ralph liked a good game of poker and playing golf. He loved traveling with his camper across the United States. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride of his life.

Ralph is survived by his children; Douglas Hunt of Minneapolis, Russell Hunt of South Haven, and Janet (Paul) Fuller of Rogers, two grandsons, five granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Marlene (Howard) Gamble of Hinckley, and Donna Lou Wartman of Florida. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Alma Hunt, wife Alice in 2009, two daughters Cynthia Hunt Harrison, and Carol Hunt Coy, daughter-in-law Rhonda Hunt, and grandson Christopher Coy.

Services will be held Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael. The Rev. Durk Peterson will officiate. Special music provided by Lisa Hinds. Visitation will be at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael one hour prior to services. Interment is at Resurrection Cemetery in Shorewood. Family members in attendance will act as casket bearers.

The Peterson Chapel of St. Michael assisted the family with arrangements.
