Leonard Joseph Kempenich

Leonard `Len` J. Kempenich, age 72, of Maple Lake died Saturday, November 4, 2006 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. Mark Huberty will officiate and burial will be in St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Knights of Columbus Rosary service will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Leonard `Len` J. Kempenich was born May 4, 1934 in Cushing to Anthony and Florence (Simones) Kempenich. He married Darlene Baron on September 24, 1956 at St. Joseph Church in Browerville. Len worked as a press technician for Brandtjen & Kluge Co. and Bergstrom Bros. He was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus, served as a cartetaker for St. Timothy Cemeteries for many years, was an adult server and communion distributor. Len enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking and making rosaries.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Maple Lake; sons and their wives, Alan and Jeannine of Farmington, Douglas and Teresa of Maple Lake, Mark and Terri of Ramsey, and Dale of Montgomery; sisters and their husbands, Florence Zimmerman of Little Falls, Barbara Brown of Chino Hills, CA, Gen and Lawrence Sperandio of Verona, MO, Lucille and Ed Sobania of Little Falls, and Mary Kempenich of Canyon, TX; brother and his wife, John and Pat of Rockford; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His parents; and brothers, Frank and Tony preceded him in death.
The pallbearers will be Brian, Justin, Keith, Curtis, Todd, Chris and Tony Kempenich. Cross bearer will be Steve Mooney. Krista Tarbox and Sarah Goelz will provide music for the service. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.

Jeanette Alice Lenox

Jeanette A. Lenox, age 81, of Rogers, formerly of Crystal and Kimball, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Wellstead of Rogers.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Kimball United Methodist Church with Rev. Heather E. Klason officiating. Burial will follow in North Kingston Cemetery, North Kingston Township, Meeker County. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Friday. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association, Research Fund, 4550 W. 77th St., Minneapolis 55435.
Jeanette Alice Lenox was born April 12th, 1925 in Kimball to John and Mabel (Blair) Stelton. She married Ralph Lenox December 15th, 1945 in Annandale. As well as being a homemaker, Jeanette worked outside the home for many years. She and Ralph lived in Crystal for 52 years before moving to The Wellstead of Rogers. She also did extensive work at the Thora Thorson Elementary School, Crystal. Jeanette was a former member of the Kimball United Methodist Church and a member of Brunswick United Methodist Church, Crystal, where for 50 years she volunteered much time and talent. Jeanette enjoyed sewing, needlecraft, gardening, fishing and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph of Rogers; 3 daughters, Bonnie Jordan of Hanover, Sue (Ron) Nims of Dayton, Nancy (Jeff) Wagner of Sioux Falls, SD; 3 grandchildren, Angie Nims, Kelli (Christian) Thompson & Devin Christiansen; sisters, Velma Strandlund of Montevideo and Ruby (Paul) Anderson of Kimball. Brothers Marvin, Donald & Gilbert Stelton preceded her in death.
The pallbearers will be Jeff Wagner, Ron & Angie Nims, Kelli & Christian Thompson, and Devin Christiansen. The music for the service will be provided by Jamie Miller & Esther Marks. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.

Alonda Marie Ross

Alonda (Pettis)(Keller) Ross, age 60, of South Haven died Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Pioneer Park, Annandale. Alonda M. Pettis-Keller Ross was born on September 25, 1946 in Minneapolis to Walter and Darlene (Gibbs) Pettis. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Paul and Lori Keller of Columbia Heights, Heidi and Lorne Olson of Fridley, Glenn Keller, and Wanda Burton, both of Annandale; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Delwin Pettis of Brown`s Valley, Darwin and Carmen Pettis and Sandra Haug, all of South Haven, Judy and Leon Lasley, Ricky and Carrie Pettis, and Nancy and Ron Rosenberger all of Monticello, and Dale and Kathy Pettis of Dayton; and 10 grandchildren.

Brayden John MacKenzie

Brayden John MacKenzie, age 17 months, of Maple Lake died Monday morning, August 21, 2006 at the Buffalo Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Rev. Peter Martinson will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the family.
Brayden John MacKenzie was born on March 4, 2005 in Monticello. Brayden loved to spend time with his brothers and his little kitty.
He is survived by his mother, Carrie MacKenzie & her significant other, Damian Wagner of Maple Lake; father, Kip MacKenzie of Coon Rapids; brothers, Dakoda Coleman, Hunter, Conner, and Riley MacKenzie; grandparents, Ken & Pat Coleman of Blaine and Becky & Ray Cooper of New Hampshire; great grandparents, Don & Ellen Reynolds of White Bear Lake; special uncle and aunt, Darin and Marnie of Savage.
The pallbearers will be Darin Coleman, Damian Wagner, Dakoda Coleman and Hunter MacKenzie. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.

Mildred Elizabeth Schmidt

Mildred Elizabeth Schmidt, 97, of Cedar Rapids, IA, died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Living Center East, after a short illness. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale, with Rev. Thomas Queck officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Arrangements were made by Turner West Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, IA and Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale. Mildred was born August 25, 1908 in St. Louis, MO to Otto and Charlotte Schuricht and attended Holy Cross Lutheran School. She married Rev. Herbert Schmidt there on September 12, 1936. He died in 1996. She supported her husband who served five Lutheran parishes during his ministry in Trimont, MN, Verndale, MN, St. Thomas, ND, Wiota, IA, and Eagle Grove, IA. Her greatest joy in life was being a support to her husband in his ministry and raising their five sons in their Christian faith. Mildred had been active in AAL (Thrivent) and Lutheran Women`s Missionary League. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids for the last seven years while residing at Garnett Place and Living Center East. Survivors include five sons, Rev. Frederick (Marilyn) Schmidt of Dundas, Ontario, Canada, Rev. H. Paul (Rev. Sylvia) Schmidt of Vancouver, B.C., Rev. Stephen (Diane) Schmidt of Luverne, MN, Leon (Marlene) Schmidt of Cedar Rapids, and Robert (Kathy) Schmidt of Edmond, OK; a sister, Sylvia (Rev. Cyril) Wismar of Falls Village, CT; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Adolph. The family would like to thank the staff at Living Center East who became her extended family. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Lorraine Eleanor Daily

Lorraine E. Daily, age 82, of Howard Lake and formerly of Maple Lake died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2006 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Timothy Cloutier and Rev. Deacon Mike Medley officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Chatham Township. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Lorraine E. Daily was born March 1, 1924 in Chatham Township near Maple Lake to Timothy and Anna (Brun) Daily. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Ellen Blake of Maple Lake, Rosemary Edling of Minneapolis & Joyce Daley of New York, NY; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Her parents; brothers, Gordon, Timothy “Buddy”, and Maurice; and sisters, Eileen, Catherine and Evalyn preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Tim Blake and Don Blake, Gary Hanson and Steve Heinsch. The Resurrection Choir will provide music for the service. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.

Lillian Eleanor Esjornson

Lillian Eleanor Esjornson, age 73, of Annandale died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at her home.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2006 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Memorials are preferred to the Great River Regional Library.
Ellie was born November 21, 1932 in Albion Township, Wright County to Richard John and Lillian Matthilda (Tolonon) Kantola. She married Floyd T. Esjornson October 20, 1956 in St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Ellie was a homemaker and along with her husband owned & operated Shady Lawn Resort on Pleasant Lake, Annandale from 1968-1990. In her retirement years she operated the pull-tab booth in Russell’s Bar for the Annandale Lions Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, meeting friends for morning coffee, traveling, card playing, reading mystery novels and doing puzzles.
She is survived by children, Mary Esjornson of Minneapolis, David (Sylvia) Esjornson of Weatherford, OK, Linda Esjornson of Minneapolis, Cary (Michael) Tvrdik of Alexandria; sister, Vi (Les) Gutknecht of South Haven; brother, Russell (Marlene) Kantola of Annandale; also 6 grandchildren, Walter, Louise & Elaine Esjornson, Tyler & Jacquie Marshall, and Zachary Tvrdik. Her husband, son, Stevie and sisters, Elsie Newago & Bernice Baker preceded her in death.
The pallbearers will be her grandchildren and Dureen Gasser will provide the music. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.

William Arthur Maloney

William A. Maloney, age 87 of Annandale died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held, 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clear Lake. Rev. Peter R. Holm will officiate and burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
William Arthur Maloney was born March 19, 1919 in Chicago, IL to William and Anna (Olmscheid) Maloney. He served his country in the Army. Bill worked as an upholsterer. He married Olida D. Iverson on January 5, 1975 in Anoka. Bill was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Clear Lake and of the Clearwater American Legion Post 323.
He is survived by his wife, Olida; children, Kitty (Ron) Sauder of Minneapolis, Jack Maloney of Mora, Rocky Maloney of St. Cloud and Rick (Kathy) Maloney of Minneapolis; step children, Donald (Engie) Bebensee of Minneapolis, Sharon Bartusek of Phoenix, AZ, Donna Escobar of Houston, TX; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Forner, Ed Rau, Gary Schultz, Jerry Leitha, Gary Leen and Ron Klein. Greta Leen will provide the music for the service. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.

Irene Rosa Rice

Irene R. Rice, age 80, of Annandale died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. Rev. Thomas Queck will officiate and burial will be in National Cemetery at Riverside, CA. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the funeral, Friday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Irene R. Rice was born April 21, 1926 in Minneapolis to Richard and Frieda (Bell) Kammer. She married Raymond L. Rice in Hudson, WI on April 27, 1947. Irene worked at Eklund`s Variety Store in Annandale and Bernatello`s Pizza in Maple Lake. She also enjoyed being a Foster Grandparent for the last 14 years. Irene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Annandale V.F.W. Auxiliary. She loved her teddy bears, visiting with family and friends and going for long walks.
Irene is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Ellis) Knute of Maple Lake and Sue (Mike) Yanish of Annandale; brother, Robert (Karen) Kammer of Annandale; grandchildren, Barry (Luci) Nilson of Mission Viejo, CA, Jackie Nilson of Huntington Beach, CA, Bret (Stacy) Yanish of Cokato, Rick (Missy) Yanish of Rockford and Tammy Yanish (Tim Weber) of Annandale; 3 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 20 step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Eleanor Peterson; and brothers, Walter, Otto, Tony, and Richard Kammer.
Pallbearers will be Bret, Rick, Aaron and Mike Yanish, Barry Nilson and Ellis Knute. Julie Starke, organist and Patrick Freiberg, vocalist will provide the music for the service. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.

Carol Marian Dalman

Carol M. Dalman, age 63, of Annandale died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at home surrounded by family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 11, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Silver Creek with Rev. David Fretham attending. A private family internment will be held by the family at a later date.
Carol Marian Dalman was born June 11, 1943 in Corinna Township, Wright County to John and Irma (Klemz) Dalman. She married Oscar (Skip) Elletson in 1964 and they later divorced. She remarried to Larry Berthiaume in 1971 and later divorced. Carol grew up in Maple Lake Township, Wright County before moving to Silver Creek, Monticello and later to Annandale. She loved family get togethers, gardening, cooking, reminiscing with family and friends and the birds and squirrel she fed.
Four children, Julie Caird of Annandale, Suzette Pell of Rossville, GA., Tina Berthiaume of Annandale and Libby Jones of Annandale; sisters Rhoda Clayton of Northome, Jeanne Pemberton of Silver Creek and brother Marlo Dalman of Campbell, TX.; grandchildren Brandon Paumen, Ryan Paumen, Christopher Bapp, Steven Gladysz, Wyatt Gladysz and Casey Jones survive Carol. She was preceded in death by her parents, son David Elletson, granddaughter Shannan Elletson, first husband `Skip` Elletson and second husband Larry Berthiaume, nieces Tammy and Terresa Pemberton.

Trula Lorraine Kersten

Trula L. Kersten, age 92, of Annandale and formerly of South Haven, died Saturday, January 13, 2007. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Zion United Methodist Church, South Haven. Rev. Heather E. Klason will officiate and private burial will be in Zion Cemetery, South Haven. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. A prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Trula L. Kersten was born August 4, 1914 in South Haven to John and Alma (Smith) Ballard. She married William H. Kersten on May 4, 1935 in St. Paul and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2005. Trula was a dedicated wife and enjoyed her life on the farm. She worked as a country school teacher, served as secretary of the South Haven School Board, and was a member and leader of the 4H. She was a woman of strong faith, a member of Zion United Methodist church, involved in Sunday School, Youth Leadership, Bible School and church library. She loved her family and friends and was an encouragement to everyone around her. Trula is survived by her son, Roland (Joan) of Grand Forks, ND; granddaughters, Sheryl (Delver) Aleckson, Deborah (Eric) Douma, and Julie (Randy) Crist; many great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; very special cousins; and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Gilbert `Gib` Ballard. Pallbearers will be Delver Aleckson, Eric Douma, Eric Craton, David Craton, Reid Aleckson, Luke Aleckson, Joel Craton. US Sailor, Brett Aleckson will be an honorary pallbearer. Jamie Miller, organist and Michele Craton, vocalist will provide the music for the service. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.

Caroline Zipoy

Caroline Zipoy, age 99, of Kimball died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Hilltop Care Center, Watkins. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at St. Anne`s Catholic Church, Kimball with Fr. Tom Knoblach officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Minneapolis. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball. Caroline Zipoy was born October 25, 1907 at Tabor, Minnesota to Matt and Mary (Krava) Novak. She graduated from Warren High School and then on July 31, 1930 graduated from the Bratrud Clinic Hospital School for Nurses in Warren, MN. She married Edward Zipoy on April 14, 1932 in Crookston and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1981. Caroline was a homemaker and also worked as a nurse and then as a waitress for the Andrews Hotel in Minneapolis. She lived in Minneapolis until 1987 when she moved to Kimball. She was a former member of St. Helena Catholic Church, Minneapolis and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Kimball. Caroline was a member of Kimball & Annandale Senior Citizens. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She is survived by son, Allan Zipoy & his wife, Shirley; grandsons & their wives, Tim & Sue Zipoy, Tom & Sarah Zipoy; great grandchildren, Hannah, Theodore, John, Benjamin, and Julia Zipoy; all of Kimball. She was preceded in death by brothers, Matt, George, Albin & Edward Novak and two infant brothers. The pallbearers will be Tim & Tom Zipoy, Chuck & David Worthington, Mike Seckinger, and Mark Jansky. The honorary pallbearers will be Caroline`s 5 great grandchildren. The music for the service will be provided by Hannah Zipoy, Mary Streit, Duane Finger, and the St. Anne`s Choir.

Marian Constance Finrud

Marian C. Finrud, age 93, of St. Louis Park, formerly of Freeborn and Lindstrom, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Rev. Lloyd Melvie officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom at a later date. Friends may call from one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
Marian Constance Finrud was born January 4, 1914 in Hartland to Sever and Kari (Bothum) Hanson. She married Lawrence Finrud on February 23, 1935 in Iowa. She worked as a counselor at Hazeldon Rehab Center in Center City for ten years. While there, she was instrumental in setting up the family program. Marian also helped establish Al-Anon in southern Minnesota during the 1950s. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom and enjoyed winters in Fiesta Village, Texas.
Marian is survived by her daughter, Vivian (Glen) Combs of Maple Lake; grandchildren, James (Kim) Combs of Fairhaven, Marilyn (Jeff) Nelson of Annandale and Gloria (Chris) Juetten of Clearwater; great grandchildren, Jessica and Trevor Combs and Nicole Nelson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
