Kreidermacher, Francis P. "Fran"
Francis P. "Fran" Kreidermacher, 87, Rollingstone, MN, died Monday, February 21, 2000 at Sauer Memorial Home, Winona.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 26 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, MN, with Rev. Edward McGrath officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Luebben, Marty, Sr.
Marty Luebben Sr., 80, Donna, TX, died February 20, 2000 in Donna.

Survivors include grandsons, Scott and Russell Dresselhaus of Winona.

Tapp, Margaret J.
Margaret J. Tapp, 54, Houston, MN, died Tuesday, February 22, 2000 at her home.

Margaret was born November 2, 1945 in Carroll, IA, to Leo and Ann (Anthofer) Reiling and later moved to Dexter, MN in 1958 where she met her husband, James. She married James V. Tapp on December 29, 1965 at St. Finbars, Grand Meadow, MN.

Margaret was a "first ever employee of the quarter" at Sauer Memorial Home in Winona. She worked as a nurse assistant for over 30 years. She was the 1999 honoree at the Rivertown Shuffle in Winona.

Margaret is survived by husband, James of Houston; three sons, Michael (Wendy) Tapp of Winona, Patrick Tapp of Rose Creek, MN, and Thomas (Andrea) Tapp of Rose Creek; three grandchildren, Courtney, Alicia and Rayce; two brothers, Mark Reiling of Owatonna, MN and William Reiling of Pine Island, MN; three sisters, Mary Ann Meek of Elgin, IL, Ida Slettum of Minnetonka, MN, and Doreen Busho of Blooming Prairie, MN; her mother, Ann Reiling of Austin, MN; and father and mother-in-law, Vernon and Mildred Tapp, Lake City, MN.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leo Reiling, nephew, Danny Meek, and brother-in-law, David Tapp.

Margaret was a member of St.Stanislaus Kostka Church where there was a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 25, with Rev. Robert G. Meyer officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale, MN, with Rev. Hubert Boschert, SJ officiating.

Pallbearers were Andrew Slettum, Daniel Hanson, Matthew Tapp, Jesse Meek, Steven Busho and Anthony Reiling.

Honorary pallbearers were all her nieces and nephews.

Schultz, Edwin G. "Ed"
Edwin G. "Ed" Schultz, 88, St. Charles, MN, died Wednesday, February 23, 2000 at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles.

He was born on March 21, 1911 to William and Helena (Dill)Schultz in Altura, MN. He was married to Grace Smith and she later died. On June 14, 1951 he married Alyce Loppnow in Preston.

Ed owned and operated the St. Charles Feed Mill, City Service Bulk Truck System and Northside Grocery Store for many years. He also drove St. Charles school bus for 14 years.

He was a member of Berea Moravian Church of St. Charles and the church council. He was also a past member of St. Charles City Council, the Fair Board and St. Charles Township Board.

He greatly enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and trapping. He also spoke German fluently.

He is survived by his wife, Alyce; two sons, Jerry (Nancy) Schultz of St. Charles and Lonnie (Kelli) Schultz, Utica, MN; three daughters, Sonia (Paul) Daywitt of Dover, MN, Patti (Owen) Rainey of Utica, and Pamela Keith, Scottsdale, AZ; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herman (Emilia) Schultz of Greenacres, WA and Arnold Schultz of Berkeley, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Grace, one son in infancy, four brothers, John, Albert, Paul and Bill; and one sister in infancy.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 26 at Berea Moravian Church with Rev. Keith Harke officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Hoff Funeral Homes - St. Charles Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.

Schneider, Sister Alcantara
A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Sister Alcantara Schneider, 84, on Thursday, February 24 at Assisi Heights with Rev. Jack Krough presiding.

Sister Alcantara, who served in leadership positions for the Rochester Franciscans, died at Assisi Heights on February 20, 2000.

Henrietta Schneider was born August 8, 1915 and entered the Sisters of St. Francis from St. John the Baptist Parish, Wagner, SD. After profession of vows, she taught all levels from elementary through college.She served as Dean of Women at the College of Saint Teresa before being called by her community in 1964 to serve as Vicaress General, a position comparable to today's Vice President. These were years of great change in religious life. The leadership looked for ways to move forward, one being the revision of the Constitutions. Sister Alcantara served as secretary of this committee. In 1970, Sister was asked to become Executive Secretary of the congregation, a position she held for 13 years. In 1976, she ran on the DFL ticket for State Representative - 33A. "I said yes to that because I believed it was what I should be doing. I felt called to do it, for the sake of women, to try to get women into the legislature." Sister Alcantara served on the board of St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester in the 1970s. She made monthly trips to Portsmouth, Ohio from 1972-1991 to serve on the Board of Trustees for Mercy Hospital. In 1983 she became the Archivist for the Sisters of St. Francis.

Sister Alcantara served with many Rochester groups: Olmsted County Board of Health, Olmsted County Community Action Board, The League of Women Voters, Community Health Services State Advisory Committee, School District 535 Citizens Advisory Committee and most recently she served as a volunteer at the Rochester Public Library.

Sister Alcantara is survived by her Franciscan family; a sister, Wilhemina V. Hartung; a nephew, James Schneider; and a niece, Patricia Leuer, all of California.

Przytarski, Mary Regina
Mary Regina Przytarski, 91, a resident of the Watkins Home, formerly of 354 Mankato Avenue, died Wednesday, February 23, 2000 at the Watkins Home.

She was born September 8, 1908 in Winona to Francis and Mary (Grulkowski) Kropidlowski. She married Edmund J. Przytarski on November 28, 1940 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. He died November 6, 1961.

Before retiring, Mary was employed at Schuler's, Winona Knitting Mills, and the J.R. Watkins Co.

She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and St. Ann's Guild.

Mary was an excellent homemaker who loved cooking and baking. Making fudge was her specialty. She enjoyed listening to music and playing cards, especially gin, solitaire and schafskopf.

Survivors include two sons, John (SanDe) Przytarski of Oak Grove, MN and James (Therese) Przytarski, LaCrescent, MN; grandchildren, Brad and Jill Przytarski of LaCrescent; sisters-in-law, Margaret Przytarski of Winona and Ruth Przytarski, Austin, MN; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Florence (Ed) Klonecki, Winona; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, her husband, four brothers, Vincent, "Fred, " Stanley and "Jim, " and three sisters, Sophie, Helen and Lucy.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Saturday, February 26 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church with Rev. Robert G. Meyer officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Matka Mary will be greatly missed by her family and relatives.

Hackbarth, Russell O.
Russell O. Hackbarth, 71, Route 1, Houston, MN (Ridgeway), died Thursday, February 24, 2000 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI.

He was born January 4, 1929 to Harry and Lela (Groth) Hackbarth on the home farm on Stinson Ridge. He graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1946. He married Lois Heber on June 6, 1951, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgeway.

He farmed his entire life on Stinson Ridge.

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and formerly a council member at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Debbie (Richard) Stolpa of Andover, MN, Shelley (LaVaine) Neseth of Rochester, MN, Ruth (Tom) Graham of LaCrosse, WI, Wendy (Joe) Minnis of Altura, MN, and Jeff (Joanne) Hackbarth of Houston; eleven grandchildren; and two brothers, Cleo (Arlys) Hackbarth of Rochester and Loren (Betty) Hackbarth of Winona.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 27 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgeway with Rev. David Pries officiating. Burial will be in Bush Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Martin-Myhre Funeral Home and after 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Casketbearers will be Joe Minnis, Richard Stolpa, Tom Graham, LaVaine Neseth and Steven and Terry Hackbarth.

Martin-Myhre Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
