Lucas Indiana Doe, 23-month-old son of Todd and Heidi Doe of Austin, Minn., died May 1, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
Grandparents are Ron and Vicki Grotjahn of Winona.

Stow, Donald
Donald Stow, 64, died Thursday, May 2, 2002 at Sauer Memorial Home.
He was born July 29, 1937 in Winona. He married Diane Galewski. They had two children.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Friends may call Monday from 1-2 p.m. at the Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Dailey, Minnie Louise
Minnie Louise Dailey, 85, of Lewiston, Minn., died Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at Lake Winona Manor.
Minnie was born October 30, 1916 in Royalton, Minn. to Carl and Anna Louisa (Reinhardt) Nuehring. She and Sidney Dailey were married June 2, 1937 in Sandstone, Minn. The couple moved to Pilot Mount to farm in 1945, then moved to Lewiston in 1960. Sidney died January 25, 1988.
Minnie was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church of Lewiston. She enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, quilting, bingo, listening to music and the Minnesota Twins. She loved her grandchildren very much.
Survivors include 15 children: Gerald (Janet) Dailey of St. Charles, Minn., Anna Wood of Kellogg, Minn., Shirley (Lyle) Bartsh of Plainview, Minn., Carl (Sandy) Dailey of Fountain City, Wis., Richard Dailey of Utica, Minn., Brenda Dailey of Winona, Bonnie Blaser of Spring Valley, Minn., Floyd (Carol) Dailey of Washburn, Wis., Raymond (Patricia) Dailey of Lewiston, Gary (JoAnn) Dailey of Rollingstone, Minn., Nancy (Mike) Brand of Lewiston, Walter (Susan) Dailey of Elgin, Minn., David (Joni) Dailey of Ill., Michael Dailey of Lewiston, and Debra Brandhorst of Hudson, Iowa; forty-two grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marge Kraetzner of Finlayson.
In addition to her husband, Sidney, two grandchildren, Tiffany Speltz and Adam Dailey, a son-in-law, Wayne Wood, two stillborn sons and three sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Friday, May 3 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston with Rev. Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery.

Babler, John H.
John H. Babler, 80, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at Lake Winona Manor.
He was born March 16, 1922 at Monroe, Wis., to John and Oline Westgard Babler.
He worked for several farms in the Hart area, for Northwest Co-op, and retired in 1984 from Behren's Manufacturing.
He was a member of the FOE #1243.
He is survived by a brother, Robert (Bev) Babler of Winona; sisters, Mary Ann (Wilford) Wilson of Twin Bluffs, Ada (Clarence) Wilson of Clinton, Iowa, and Anna (Helmer) Thompson of Caledonia, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and seven brothers, Albert, Ralph, William, Richard and Matthew Babler, and Henry and Charles Hanson.
Funeral services were Saturday, May 4 at Martin-Myhre Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul C. Stratman officiating. Burial was in Bush Cemetery, Ridgeway, Minn.
Casketbearers were his nephews.

Theis, Mariane B.
Mariane B. Theis, 76, died Thursday, May 2, 2002 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital.
Mariane was born March 2, 1926 in Marshfield, Wis., to Walter and Mae (Welch) Volk. On May 7, 1946 she married John F. Theis in Hokah, Minn.
Mariane was a long-time employee of Spurgeons in Winona. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone and the St. Theresa's Society. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Winona. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, John F. "Jack" Sr.; four sons, Tom (Ann) of Rochester, Minn., John F. Jr. (Lan) of Prior Lake, Minn., Paul of Rollingstone, Minn., and Rick (Lynn)of Janesville, Wis.; eight grandchildren; one brother, John (Bea) Volk of Baraboo, Wis.; and four sisters, Beatrice (George) Strittmater of LaCrescent, Minn., Mary (Ray) Keller of LaCrosse, Wis., Val (Edward) Schumacher of Onalaska, Wis., and Patricia (Kit) Vail of Minnetonka, Minn.
Mariane's parents, three daughters, Theresa, Lori and Julie, a granddaughter, Maria Brabbit and five brothers, Jerry, Floyd, Mickey, Ervin and Bobby preceded her in death.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Monday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with Rev. Edward McGrath officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the church where there will be a Christian Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
A memorial is being arranged by the family.

Svenningson, Violet P.
Violet P. Svenningson, age 90, of Winona, died on Thursday, March 21, 2002 at Community Memorial Hospital, Winona.
Violet Phoebe was born on December 7, 1911 in Winona County, MN to Clyde Howard and Clara Belle (Boynton) Woodward. On April 10, 1929, she married C. Raymond Svenningson in Rushford, MN. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1960.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Winona; the Watkins Home Auxiliary and Volunteer Services.
She is survived by a son Allen (Sandra) Svenningson of Fairbanks, Alaska; a daughter Bonnie (Jerry) Yaedke of Crivitz, WI; a son-in-law Dr. Edward Ellis of Sarasota, FL; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother Sherman (Doris) Woodward of Goodview, MN; four sisters: Shirley (Richard) Buchan of Winona, Leona (Daniel) Kujak of Winona, Geneva Fitzpatrick of Raymond, WA, and Bertha (Frank) Hunt of Rancho Cordova, CA; two sisters-in-law, Judy Benson of Winona and Norma Benson of Winona and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Charlotte, an infant son, two brothers, two sisters and a infant brother.
Services were Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Central United Methodist Church, Winona, with Rev. Mary Hurmence, officiating. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
Memorials may be directed to Central United Methodist Church, Winona.
Arrangements were completed by the Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Winona.
Buege, Alice I. (Plank)
On March 25, 2002, Alice I. (Plank) Buege, age 69, left this life surrounded by her family, following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on January 17, 1933 in Cochrane, Wis., to George and Ella Engel Plank. She graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School in 1951.
She received her final training and Associates Degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse through LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital. She worked for five years at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse and then for over twenty-five years at Community Memorial Hospital in Winona until the time of her retirement in 1984.
Alice married Gerald R. Buege on July 16, 1954 and raised three sons in Pickwick, Minn. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, and was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Minnesota Twins.
Alice spent many hours assisting her husband, Gerald, in the construction of numerous homes in the Winona area.
She is survived by three sons, Wynn (Mary) Buege of Appleton, Wis., Terry (Julie) Buege of Nodine, Minn., and Tim Buege of San Diego, Cal.; seven grandchildren, Erin, Brianna and Jacob Buege of Appleton, Kyle Ryan and Anna Buege of Nodine, and Shanda Demorest of LaCrescent, Minn.; a sister, Ethel (Millard) Christ of Waumandee, Wis., and her mother-in-law, Phyllis Buege of Winhaven Court, Winona.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald on December 2, 2001, and by her parents.
In honoring Alice's wishes, a private family memorial is planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Community Memorial Hospital, Winona, Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, LaCrosse, and Sauer Memorial Home, Winona, for the support and care that was given to their mother during her illness.
