Paul F. Klinski, 79, Caledonia, Minn., died Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, LaCrosse, Wis.
Funeral services were Friday, January 31, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Revs. Jon Wolff and Tom Schultz officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Heller, Roger C.
Roger C. Heller, 60, of Fountain City, Wis., and formerly of Alma, Wis., died Monday, January 27, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services were Friday, January 31, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cream, Wis., with Rev. Elroy V. Conradt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Herold, Heather Jane
Heather Jane Herold, 26, died at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center on Wednesday, January 29, 2003.
Heather was the daughter of Janice and Norman Herold of Galesville, Wis.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 4, at Zion Lutheran Church of Galesville. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the services.

Speltz, Stephen L.
Stephen Louis Speltz, 94, of Durham, North Carolina, a Rollingstone, Minn., native died Thursday January 2, 2003, in Durham.
Stephen was born May 25, 1908, at Oak Ridge, Minn., to Louis John and Katherine "Kate" (Schell) Speltz. He married Hazel Marie Cada July 30, 1932. She preceded him in death on October 3, 1991. Stephen was an undergraduate at St. Mary's College in Winona, Minn., and received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, later receiving a Master's Degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. He was in the Civil Service during WWII, worked for the U.S. Weather Bureau and taught math and science in Rock Island, Ill., until retiring in 1973. While teaching in Rock Island he was a TV weatherman in the early days of television.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with a trailer.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen E. Speltz of Durham, and Matthew L. Speltz of Mukilteo, Wash., a daughter, Sharon A. Richmond of Castle Rock, Colo., 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Hazel, a sister, Catherine Speltz Anderson, preceded Stephen in death.
There will be a Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Rev. Michael Cronin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery at Oak Ridge. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
The family prefers memorials, in lieu of flowers, to local Meals on Wheels or Alzheimers' organizations.

Cichosz, Harriet A. (Henrietta)
Born November 20, 1919, passed away January 3, 2003, at age 83, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and aphasia.
Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Agnes Gilgosh, and brother, Earl "Bud" Gilgosh.
Survived by husband of 64 years, Harry Edward Cichosz; seven children: Jerome (Barbara) Cichosz of Fridley, Minn., Mary Ann (Gerald) Lawler of Eyota, Minn., James (Sharon) Cichosz of Winona, Michael (Karen) Cichosz of Lakeville, Minn., Charles (Denise) Cichosz of Winona, Richard (Patricia) Cichosz of Winona, and Steven (Carol) Cichosz of Minnesota City, Minn.; seventeen grandchildren: Jamison (Amy) Cichosz, Kent Lawler, Lynn (Clint) Ernst, Craig Lawler, David (Christine) Cichosz, Roberta Ells, Michael Cichosz, Jr. (JoAnne), Mark (Libby) Cichosz, Suzanne Cichosz, Aaron (Angel) Cichosz, Christopher (Melissa) Cichosz, Timothy Cichosz, Scott Cichosz, Jeffrey (Amy) Cichosz, Chad Cichosz, Douglas Cichosz, and Stacey Cichosz; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Irene (Joseph T.) Poblocki of Winona; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chester (Dorothy) Cichosz of St. Louis Park, Minn.; and many other family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday, January 7, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, with Rev. Daniel R. Dernek officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Lake Winona Manor, St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, or to the donor's choice.

Profilet, Doris Anne
Doris Anne Profilet, 72, of Temple Hills, Maryland, died of lung cancer Friday, December 27, 2002.
Doris was born January 21, 1930, in Cairo, Ill., to James and Katheryn Wallace. After graduating from Cairo High School, she married Stephen B. Profilet on May 6, 1950, at the naval base in Kodiak, Alaska.
During her husband's navy career, she traveled to many places, including California, New York, and Spain, until his retirement in the Washington, D.C. area.
She enjoyed playing the piano and gardening, and was a great cook. Her oil paintings won awards at many art shows.
Doris is survived by her husband, Stephen; two daughters, Theresa (Bryan) Constable of Portland, Ore., and Cynthia (Thomas) Bell of Winona; one son, Stephen B. Profilet Jr. (Judy) of Eugene, Ore.; five grandchildren, Heather and William Constable, Terry Jones, Leigh and Ryan Bell; and special friend, her Westie, Duff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Katheryn, and one brother, Warren.
Kalas Funeral Home in Oxen Hills, Maryland, is handling arrangements. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 8. In the spring, her ashes will be interred at the family plot in Illinois.
Oates, Elsie "Tutie"
Elsie "Tutie" Oates, 85, of 251 Walnut St., died Friday, January 3, 2003, at Lake Winona Manor.
Elsie was born March 8, 1917, on Pickwick Ridge, Winona County, to Frank and Anna Miller Malenke, the youngest of thirteen children. She married Oliver "Bud" Oates on November 6, 1937, in Winona.
Elsie worked for many families and businesses in Winona doing house cleaning and custodial duties including interior and exterior house painting.
She was a member of St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed greeting at church.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Burmeister of Centennial, Colo.; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry (Esther) Malenke of Winona; and a sister, Ann Benter of Winona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on October 5, 1996, two sons, Daryl and Donald, a son-in-law, Allyn Burmeister, a daughter-in-law, Connie V. Oates, six brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 7, at St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Henslin officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Elmer Tarras, Ron Benter, Ron Stevens, and Alan Whitney.
Memorials may be directed to St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Heins, Mary A. (Mrs. Clemens)
Mary A. (Mrs. Clemens) Heins, 81, of Kellogg, Minn., died Wednesday, January 1, 2003, in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Wabasha, Minn.
A funeral service was held Monday, January 6, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wabasha, with Rev. Jamie Brei officiating. Burial was in Greenfield Cemetery near Kellogg.
Johnson, Ashlynn Lee
Ashlynn Lee Johnson, born to Benjamen Johnson and Brandi Elliott, died at birth on Saturday, January 4, 2003, at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
Ashlynn is survived by her parents, Benjamen Johnson and Brandi Elliott, of St. Charles, maternal grandparents, Guy and Rita Elliott of St. Charles, paternal grandmother, Lori Johnson of Utica, paternal grandfather, Michael Franzen of Rushford, maternal great-grandmother, Betty Elliott of St. Charles and paternal great-grandparents, Pat and Dave Johnson of Fremont.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel with the Rev. Sharon Johnson of St. Charles United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Eyota.
Friends may call one hour before services at the funeral home.
Przybylski, Harry G.
Harry G. Przybylski, 89, of Fountain City, Wis., died Friday, July 5, 2002 at Community Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 7, 1913 in Winona to Frank and Barbara (Wolszon) Przybylski. He married Delores R. Buege on January 30, 1943 in Winona. She died April 24, 1993.
Harry was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish.
He was employed at Swift & Co. for 20 years and upon its closing, later worked at Badger for 11 years until retiring. He was an avid hunter and trapper.
Harry's grandchildren were very special to him and he will be lovingly missed by all.
Survivors include two sons, James (Desiree) of Winona and Donald of Fountain City, Wis.; a daughter, Bonnie (Michael) Lince of Fountain City; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Eugene, five brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, July 9, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church with Rev. Daniel R. Dernek officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John, Jason and Ryan Przybylski, Tom Lince, Jerry Jaszewski and Jim Hoover.

Owecke, Marie E.
Marie E. Owecke, 93, formerly of Winona, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at her son Donald's home in San Diego, Cal.
Marie was born to Albert and Mae (Whetstone) Schmidt in the town of Elkador, Clayton County, Iowa on July 27, 1908. When she was five years old, the family moved to Winona County.
She married Sylvester H. Hoeppner on June 18, 1929 in St. Joseph's Church in Winona. Four sons were born of this union. Sylvester passed away on May 9, 1953. On May 30, 1963, Marie married Andrew S. Owecke in St. Mary's Church, Winona. Andrew passed away on January 6, 1989.
Marie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; a member and past president of the St. Mary's Rosary Society; the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Winona Court #191; an active member of the St. Anne Extended Care Auxiliary; a gold card member of the Oblate Mission Friendship Club; a member and past president of the Winnebago Council #11, Degree of Pocahontas; a national and local member of the American Association of Retired People; and a member of the Senior Coalition.
After her first husband's death, she worked for Clark and Clark Insurance for several years, and for thirteen years in the office of the Diocesan Catholic paper, The Courier.
Marie is survived by three sons, James R. Hoeppner of Omaha, Neb., Donald W. Hoeppner of San Diego, Cal., and Thomas M. Hoeppner of Minneapolis, Minn; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Glen Schmidt of Waukesha, Wis., a son, Gerald of Tacoma, Wash, and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona with Rev. Joseph Keefe officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The Catholic Daughters and the St. Mary's Rosary Society will meet in body at the church.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 10, from 5-7 p.m. at the Watkowski-Pronschinske Funeral Home, where a Pocahontas Service will be held at 6 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:45 p.m. Friends may call again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass in the Commons of St. Mary's Church.
