Dorothy Wagner

Dorothy Jean Wagner, 83, died Nov. 21, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. She was the daughter of Robert and Rebecca (Satter) Darling and the granddaughter of Stevens County pioneers. She was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Framnas Township, Stevens County.

During her High School years "Dot, " as she was known, moved from the family farm into the City of Morris. She graduated from Morris High School in 1939 and thereafter attended a business course at the West Central School of Agriculture. During WWII she worked as a bookkeeper for the Morris Co-op Association. On June 17, 1947, she married the love of her life, Richard Wagner, at First Lutheran Church in Morris. They farmed a century farm and raised three children on their beloved farm called, "Wagner's Struggle."

She was active at First Lutheran Church and an avid member of the Stevens County Historical Society. She was a dedicated gardener and homemaker and excelled at compiling and writing family histories. In the last years of her life, she suffered from Alzheimer's Disease and resided at the Pioneer Senior Cottages in Fergus Falls.

She is survived by so John (Karma) Wagner of Fergus Falls; daughter Randee (Steve) Hokanson of Morris; son Gary (Rose) Wagner of Morris; nine grandchildren: Gregory (fianc/e, Tara Hanson) Wagner of Brainerd, Mitchell (Krista) Wagner of Fergus Falls, Robert Hokanson of New Brighton, Scott Hokanson of Alexandria, Heidi Hokanson of Minneapolis, Nicole, Megan, Rachel and Joshua Wagner of Morris; and two sisters, Ruth Jensen of Minneapolis and Donna Swenson of Napa, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard, as well as one grandson, Thomas Richard.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Stevens County Historical Society or First Lutheran Church.

Visitation: Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 6:30 prayer service at the funeral home and for one hour prior to Saturday services at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at First Lutheran Church in Morris

Anne Boldt

Anne Boldt, 79, Fergus Falls, formerly of Hibbing, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, in Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls. She was born March 4, 1925, in Letonia, Minn., to George and Mary Mihelich. She attended Maple Hill Grade School and Lincoln High School in Hibbing. She married Wayne Boldt in June 1942.

For the last 52 years, she was an active member of the Hibbing Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She loved gardening and was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed making her own wardrobe. She was a full time wife and mother who totally devoted her life to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Judith Anne (Jim) Tanner of Columbia, S.C., Brenda and Ronnie Whitlock and Daryl Boldt, all of Fergus Falls; grandchildren: Johnny Neumann of Summerville, S.C., Jorge (Jody) Neumann of Moricks Corner, S.C., Jacqueline (Greg) Tate of Snelville, Ga., RJ. Whitlock and Rosemary Anne Whitlock, both of Fergus Falls, and Denise (Steve) Dirnberger of Blaine, Minn.; seven great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Ashley, Lauren, Joshua, Jacob, Blaine and Shelby; sisters: Mary (Dwight) Whirland of Hibbing and Florence (Bryce) Menard of Plymouth, Minn.; brothers: George and Rudy (Aunie) Milelich of Hibbing and Milan Mihelich of Bemidji; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Lois (Dale) Scramstead, Claire Boldt, Freda Sanders, Eva and Adrian Boldt and Faith and Lewis Sigourney.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Wayne Boldt, in 1965.

Visitation: Friday, Nov. 1 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. with a 8: 45 p.m. prayer service in the funeral home and will continue Saturday from 12: 00 pm until service time

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday in Hibbing Christian and Missionary Alliance Church

Andy Hilde

Andy John Hilde, 73, Elbow Lake, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at his home.

He was born Jan. 31, 1931, to Christ and Nellie (Freeman) Hilde in North Ottawa Township, Grant County. He completed the 8th grade and farmed with his dad and uncles until they moved to Elbow Lake in 1948. He worked at the block factory in Elbow Lake before enlisting in the Air Force in 1951, serving in Korea.

On April 4, 1952, he married Vivian Clark at the Christ Lutheran Church parsonage. Andy was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1955. He and Vivian lived in Elbow Lake for a few months before moving to Minneapolis where Andy worked for Linley Incorporated making cue sticks. The family returned to Elbow Lake in 1968. Andy worked for the O & M Elevator and later was employed by E & L Construction; he retired in 1992.

He loved to collect scale-model cars, pens, and caps. Following retirement, he enjoyed working on small engines and lawn mowers. He also mowed lawns in the neighborhood. He enjoyed deer hunting with his family before becoming ill. He was a member of the Wendell American Legion Post 426.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Clark) Hilde of Elbow Lake; six children: Ronald of Mora, Mark (Linda) of Big Lake, Susan of Hoffman, Kathy (Curt) Jacobson of Morris, Pamela (Myron) Haben of Holloway, and Gregory of Elbow Lake; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Clifford of Elbow Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Cecil; and one grandchild.

Visitation: Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and at the church one hour before Tuesday services

Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake

Gordon Wiese

Gordon Wiese, 48, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, in Moorhead as a result of an accident.

He was born July 30, 1956, in Fergus Falls, to Emery and Elizabeth (Ecker) Wiese. He attended Fergus Falls High School and then served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1975.

In 1977, he married Linda Hanson in Fergus Falls. He worked as an apprentice for the Bridge and Ornamental Ironworkers Association, and later worked as a laborer in Fargo and Moorhead.

He enjoyed fishing and spending holidays with his family, reminiscing fond memories.

He is survived by his son, Allen, of Fergus Falls; mother, Elizabeth Wiese, of Elizabeth and her friend, Darwin Braaten; brothers, Bradley (Janelle) Wiese of Wahpeton and Tony Wiese of Omaha, Neb.; and sisters, Roxanne (Blake) Meland of Pelican Rapids and Sheralyn Emery of Fergus Falls. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emery Wiese; infant brother, Allen; and grandparents, Otto and Olive Wiese and Perry and Alice Ecker.

Military Participation: VFW Post No. 612 and American Legion Post No. 30, Fergus Falls

Visitation: Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. public prayer service at and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Augustana Lutheran Church of Elizabeth

Rita Bjerketvedt

Rita Bjerketvedt, 52, Clitherall, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital

She was born June 19, 1952, in Fergus Falls to daughter of John O. and Irene (Holt) Jonson. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. She graduated from the Battle Lake High School in 1970 and continued her education at the North Dakota School of Science in Wahpeton where she completed the Licensed Practical Nursing Program.

After a previous marriage she married Dave Severson Jr. Dec. 7, 1984. Dave died Aug. 9, 1987. Rita and Orly Bjerketvedt were married Aug. 10, 1991.

After schooling, she worked one year at the Dakota Hospital in Fargo. She then began working at the Village Apothecary in Battle Lake which for a few years she owned and operated. After selling the business she continued her employment with the store. She started with the drug store in high school and had worked a total of 28years. She enjoyed her work and the people she got to know through work. She was an active member of the Leaf Mountain Lutheran Church where she started the coffee and cookie time after the Sunday service. She was involved with the Easter Breakfast and she really enjoyed attending functions with the church. She loved the pontoon and the lake, and will be remembered laying on the dock, reading her book with a bottle of water at her side. She enjoyed her family and friends and loved to entertain.

She is survived by her husband, Orly; mother, Irene Jonson of Battle Lake; one son, John Severson of Alexandria; two step-daughters and their families, Annie (J.J.) Cline, Courtney and D.J. and Heather (Alex) Severson-Tanez and Maya all of Battle Lake; one sister, Nancy (Tim) Miller of Moorhead; one brother, Gary (Peggy) Jonson of Henning; one niece, Kelley Jonson of Ortonville; two nephews, Robert (Elidia) Jonson and their children Brittney and Bryan of Savannah, Georgia and Gary (Amy) Jonson of St. Paul; she is also survived by numerous family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her father, John Jonson.

Visitation: Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home in Battle Lake and one hour prior to the service

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Leaf Mountain Lutheran Church, rural Battle Lake

Lester Sha

Lester Xavier Sha, 87, Denton, Texas, formerly of Breckenridge, died Nov. 19, 2004, in the Denton Senior Care Center of Denton, Texas.

He was born Feb. 10, 1917, to John and Jennie (Ostlund) Sha in Ottertail County. At the age of seven he moved with his parents to Valley City, N.D. He grew to manhood in North Dakota and in 1935 moved to a farm near Foxhome.

He entered the U. S. Army in 1941 and served 4 years during WWII in the South Pacific. Following his discharge, he came to Breckenridge.

On Aug. 21, 1946, he married Della D. Fuder. The couple made their home in Breckenridge, where he was employed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. In 1973 they moved to Fergus Falls, and he continued working for MnDOT. He retired in 1979, and they continued living in Fergus Falls until 1983, at which time they moved back to Breckenridge.

Lester is a member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #53, both of Breckenridge; VFW Post #612; and the Eagles Aerie 2339 of Fergus Falls. He was also a member of the WWII Last Man's Club of Wahpeton/Breckenridge.

He lived in Breckenridge until October 1998, when he relocated to Denton, Texas, to be closer to his sons.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis (Linda) Sha, Denton, Texas, and Wayne (Linda) Sha, The Colony, Texas; four grandchildren: Kimberly (Collin) Wissen, Kristin (Chris) Boyd, Amy Sha and Lindsey Sha; great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Boyd; brother, Tom Sha, Rodeo, Calif.; and sister, Marian Ellingson of Fargo.

He was preceded in death Sept. 18, 1985, by his wife, Della; parents, John and Jenny Sha; and sister, Rodell Anderson

Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home

Clergy: Rev. Mike Gustafson

Burial: Bethlehem Lutheran cemetery, Fergus Falls, with military rites by VFW Post #612
