Kelly Jo Klemek
Kelly Jo Klemek, 24, of Duluth died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, in her home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1976, to Brenda (McNelis) and Roger Endres. Kelly attended Central High School. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing and pets.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Darren of Duluth; daughter, Daytonna and son, Jonathan, both at home; her mother, Brenda (Larry) Anthes of Tomahawk, Wis.; her father, Roger Endres of Duluth; sisters Stephanie (fiance, Jason Line), Tiffany, Sabrina and Andrea, all of Duluth; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, the Rev. Joseph Koranda officiating. Cremation will follow services with private burial at a later date. Services entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, (218) 624-5200.
Harriet J. Waisner
Harriet J. Waisner, 68, of Duluth passed away Saturday, July 21, 2001, in her home.
She was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Carroll, Iowa, to Harry and Bernice Waisner. She worked as a caregiver for the Pines II in Spooner, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her nephew, Gary (Jessie) Pullar of Oakland, Calif.; nieces Teri Ann Thibault of Phoenix and Cindy (Ray) Felicano; grandnephews Jason Thibault of Duluth, Pat (Kiersten) Thibault of Mankato, Minn.; and special friends Summer Clark, and Barb, Wayne and Steve LaTour.
Memorial gathering: 9 until the 10 a.m. service Thursday in Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home, Monsignor Patrick McDowell officiating.
Emma Ovidia Pedersen
Emma Ovidia Pedersen, 97, formerly of West 10th Street died Sunday, July 22, 2001, in Viewcrest Health Center.
She was born April 28, 1904, in Engan, Norway, to parents Johan and Regina (Pedersen) Pedersen. Emma married
Hans Pedersen in Rosvik, Norway, on Sept. 21, 1936, and later that year moved to Duluth.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, gardening and baking. Emma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway Nortun Lodge 16, Norlandslaget of America and Canada, and the Piedmont Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans; a brother, Odin; sisters Olena, Emelia, Lotte, Ranghill, Lotte, Ingeborg and Inga.
She is survived by her son, Henry (Carol Paulson) Pedersen of Duluth; grandsons Paul and Lee Pedersen, both of Duluth; and nieces and nephews in Norway.
Private services. Interment in Sunrise Memorial Park. Memorial service at a later date in Engan, Norway. Memorials to Viewcrest Health Center Activities Department appreciated. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home.
Deloris Mae (Stark) Egerdahl
Deloris Mae (Stark) Egerdahl, 80, of Viewcrest Health Center, Duluth, died Sunday, July 22, 2001.
Deloris was a longtime resident of Duluth. She was born June 13, 1921, in Warba, Minn., to Lola and Arnold Stark.
Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry A. Egerdahl, who died Aug. 13, 1993, in Duluth; sisters Mabel Graham of Chicago and Dorothy Anderson of Bovie; and a brother, Bob Stark of Warba.
Survivors include sisters Goldie (Howard) Grover of Isanti, Minn., and Anna Audette of Grand Rapids; her children and their spouses, Nancy (Ben) Loukes and John "Jack" (Joanne) Egerdahl of Duluth, and Jeffrey (Wendy) Egerdahl of New Hampshire; grandchildren Lori Graff, Jason Loukes, Ryan Egerdahl, Ann Egerdahl, Maranda Egerdahl, and Meghan Egerdahl; great-grandchildren Emily Graff and Ethan Graff; and several nieces and nephews.

Ronald S. Rowley
Ronald S. Rowley, 43, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2001, in St. Mary's Hospital, Tucson, Ariz., of complications from hepatitis C. Ron put up a long battle, many times baffling medical professionals by beating the odds.
Ron was born Feb. 5, 1958, in Oak Park, Ill. He graduated from high school in Tempe, Ariz., and attended college in Flagstaff, Ariz. Ron spent his life living throughout the western states.
Ron lived by his own rules and broke all others. This made him a remarkable human being and he lived a life many envy. He had a love for family and friends, an adventurous spirit and a charisma none can replicate.
He spent many years as a river guide on the Colorado River, a job he loved and was proud of. An avid outdoorsman, Ron was drawn to areas of great beauty including Lake Powell, Ariz., Jackson Hole, Wyo., and the north shore of Lake Superior.
It is fitting that Ron would have died on Cinco de Mayo. Anyone who had ever tasted his Mexican food knows that he could battle all renowned Southwestern chefs.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Mutschler Rowley.
Ron is survived by his father, C. Stevenson Rowley; his sisters, Kim (Paul) Tirebuck and Michelle Rowley; nieces Chloe, Corabelle and Ella Tirebuck; and a nephew, August Harvey-Rowley, all living in Duluth.

Doris A. Hagen
Doris A. Hagen, 87, of Blaine, Minn., passed away Sunday, May 6, 2001.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albin; a son, Arthur; and a sister, Inez.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Hank; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many loving relatives and friends.

Gladys Berthea (Dahl) Dreher
Gladys Berthea (Dahl) Dreher, 87, of East St. Marie Street died Monday, May 7, 2001, in St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born in Trail, Minn., and moved to Duluth in 1932. Gladys married
Emil Adolph Dreher on Sept. 21, 1935, in St. Paul's American Lutheran Church in Duluth. They lived at Island Lake near Moose Lake from 1968 to 1987, when they returned to Duluth. She was a member of the former St. Paul's American Lutheran Church, which merged with Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she also was a member.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters; and her husband, Emil.
Survivors include daughters Barbara Jean Mathwick of Eau Claire, Wis., and Gwen Richardson of Juneau, Alaska; grandchildren Lori Young, Brian (Laura) Peterson, Lisa (Norm) Maciver, Kevin (Michelle) Peterson and Jodi Richardson; great-grandchildren Keena (Kaleb) Smith, Kris Bakke, Sarah, Alyssa and Natalie Peterson, Danielle, Jordan, Steven and Jenna Maciver, and Brendan and Alex Peterson; a great-granddaughter, Emilee Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Howard Norman
Howard Norman, 73, of Swan Lake Road went to be with Jesus Monday, May 7, 2001, in St. Luke's Hospital.
He was born May 26, 1927, in Duluth to Herbert and Luella Norman. He was a veteran of the Navy. He married
RoAnn Carbaugh on Sept. 17, 1949, in Duluth. He owned the Modern Service gas station in Duluth Heights and worked for the Cook Home and Chris Jensen Health & Rehabilitation Center for 20 years until his retirement in 1990.
He was a member of the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle. He loved sharing his faith and telling others about Jesus. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family at his cabin on Boulder Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first daughter, baby Norman.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, RoAnn (Carbaugh) Norman; sons Larry (Diane), David and Howie Jr. (Elsie), all of Duluth; daughters Diane Johnson and Shirley (Butch) Solem, both of Duluth, Janet (Dale) Larson of Alborn and Carolyn (Edward) Letourneau of Duluth; brothers Rev. Donald (Gloria) of Aitkin, Paul (Susie) of Minneapolis, Richard (Wanda) of Japan, James (Ruth) of Duluth and Rollin of Duluth; a special sister-in-law, JoAnn Dadea; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; adopted grandchildren, Emily, Jacob and Bethany; and Papa's puppy, Lucy.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home and continuing 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday in Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, the Revs. Rolf Fure and Dean Bjorlin officiating. Graveside service in Sunrise Memorial Park.
Marianna A. Burns
Marianna A. Burns, 79, of Seventh Street in Proctor and formerly of Fiskett Road passed away on Monday, May 7, 2001, in Lake Haven Manor in Duluth.
She was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Duluth to Joseph and Mary (Desalvo) Donfris. Marianna married
Robert Burns in Duluth on March 3, 1942. He passed away Feb. 5, 1994. She worked as a cook in numerous Duluth-area restaurants and owned the Red Carpet Restaurant in the late 1960s.
Marianna was open, giving, nurturing and generous to everyone. She was a member of Women of the Moose of Proctor. Marianna loved bingo and crocheting afghans for all of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 52 years, Robert.
Marianna is survived by her daughters, Roberta "Bobby" (Roy) Kruger of Proctor, Susan (Edwin) Black of Middleboro, Mass., Elizabeth "Bette" (Rich) Burns-Koivisto of Duluth and Anita Burns of Naperville, Ill.; sons Robert (Janet) Burns of Duluth and Neal (Judy) Burns of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
