Leslie V. Malmquist, 84, of Superior died Monday, April 30, 2001 in St. Mary's Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Selma, and a brother, Wendell.

He is survived by his children, James and Leslie C., both of St. Paul, Keith of New Richmond, Wis., Barbara Edwards of Rochester, Wis., and Debra of Waukesha, Wis.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and a brother Elwood (Evelyn) of Superior.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday in First Evangelical Covenant Church, 3311 Hammond Ave., Superior.

Lucille A. Wasilewski
Lucille A. Wasilewski, 45, of East County Road C, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Brenda (Rick Anderson); a son, Brian; grandchildren Hailey and Ricky Anderson; her parents, Daniel and Donna Johnson; and brothers Jerry Johnson and Bradley (Tippy) Johnson.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. today and 10:30 a.m. service Saturday in Downs Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary cemetery.

Bessie M. Homsey
Bessie M. Homsey, 99, of Superior died Friday, March 16, 2001, in Southdale Health Care Services.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia A. Butler, and a granddaughter, Darleen J. Butler, both of Superior.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday in Downs Funeral Home with Catholic Daughter's rosary at 5:30. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Assumption Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary cemetery.

Richard B. East
Richard B. East, 85, died Friday, April 13, 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta; daughters Diane (Richard) Grimsrud, Susan (James) Kranz; stepdaughter, Carol (Ronald) Hey; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Visitation: begins 5 p.m. Monday in Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, and continues 10 until the 11 a.m. service Tuesday in Faith United Methodist Church. Inurnment in Riverside cemetery, Superior.

Helen Hamilton
Helen Hamilton, 78, of Superior died Saturday, June 16, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, John; stepsons John (Pat) Hamilton Jr., and Clyde (Linda) Hamilton; a stepdaughter, Ethel Hamilton; two brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10:30 until the 11:30 a.m. service Friday in William Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, Superior. Interment in Greenwood cemetery, Superior.

Genevieve "Mae" F. Anderson
Genevieve "Mae" F. Anderson, 88, of Duluth, recently of Superior died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Duluth at the home of her daughter, Jody.
Genevieve Sedlock was born July 16, 1912, in Negaunee, Mich., and graduated from Negaunee High School and Northern State Teachers' College, Marquette, Mich., with degrees in English and music. Before marriage, she was supervisor of music in the Escanaba, Mich., public schools and continued in the teaching field after her marriage to Clifford Anderson, also of Negaunee. Music was always a part of Gen's life. She began playing for silent movies when she was a child. Even though she played several string instruments, her real gifts and achievements were on the piano. Forest Service assignments took the Andersons to several states, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin, where Gen was in great demand as a musician in church, school, and local affairs. Gen was also a member of the Superior Clef Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford and a brother, Emery.

Genevieve is survived by children John (Mary) of Roanoke, Va., David of the Plains, Va., Bob (Mary Evelyn) of Centerville, Va., Paul (Lynn) of Eau Claire, Wis., Tom (Mary) of Superior, Kathy (Pete) Kelley of Stevens Point, Wis., Bill (Karen) of Superior, Jody of Duluth, Stephen of Los Angeles; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Joe of Negaunee, Mich., Ray (Carol) of Gwinn, Mich.; sisters Margaret (Silvio) of Bessemer, Mich., Dorothy (Bill) of Fond du Lac, Wis., Theresa of Chicago and Mary "Frances" (Bob) of Saginaw, Mich.

Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. memorial Mass Wednesday in St. Francis Catholic Church, Superior, the Rev. Father James Tobolski officiating. Inurnment in Glidden, Wis., 2 p.m. Thursday.

Delores K. Jarvi
Delores K. Jarvi, 76, of Superior died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in her residence.
Her husband Raymond died in 1995.

She is survived by a daughter, Melissa (John) Hendricks; and granddaughters Kerstyn and Karissa Hendricks.
Visitation: 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service Wednesday in Downs Funeral Home. Burial in Greenwood cemetery, Superior.

Beatrice W. "Bee" Lipsett
Beatrice W. "Bee" Lipsett, 88, of Superior died May 26, 2001.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Margaret (Bernard) Wilson; nieces Virginia Christianson Hart, Joyce Christianson, and Sharon Walley Hart; nephews Jerry Walley and Leonard (Ethel) Walley; several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. Interment in Nemadji cemetery. Memorials to United Presbyterian Church, new building fund.

Violet Koukari
Violet Koukari, 83, formerly of the Town of Parkland, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, in Superior.
She is survived by daughters Judy (Gray) Hurin and Joyce Bowser; a brother, George (Betty) Hill; a sister, Flora Colby; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until the noon funeral Thursday in Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. The Rev. Marilyn Haugen-Strand officiating. Interment in Faith Lutheran cemetery, Maple, Wis.

Harry C. Seacotte
Harry C. Seacotte, 78, of Cummings Avenue died Sunday, April 22, 2001, in his residence.
He is survived by his son, Harry Daniel Seacotte of Superior.
Visitation: 9:30 until the 10:30 a.m. service Thursday in Downs Funeral Home. Burial in Greenwood cemetery.

Signe Brevik
Signe Brevik, 88, formerly of Superior died Monday, April 23, 2001, in Clark County Health Care Center.
She was born in Borea, Wis., on April 4, 1913, to Henry and Lena (Hanson) Brevik. She attended Superior Normal School and Superior Teacher's College. Signe taught school for several years and enjoyed writing music, short stories and poems.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Caroline and Helga Brevik.

She is survived by sisters Olga Zastrow of Babbitt and Mildred Earhart of New Brighton, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday in Thompson-Hegstrom Funeral Home, Superior, the Rev. Henry D. Noordzy officiating. Internment in Riverside cemetery.

Darrell J. Ford
Darrell J. Ford, 39, of Superior died Tuesday, June 26, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine "Kathy"; sons Scott McKay, Darrell Ford Jr. and Richard Ford; daughters Melissa Ford, Krystal McKay and Nicole Vig; three grandchildren; his mother; two brothers; and two sisters.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday at the Evergreen cemetery in Solon Springs. Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home, Solon Springs.

Chester John Mattison
Chester John Mattison, 84, of Logan Avenue died Wednesday, June 27, 2001.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, June; daughters Kay Doyle, Linda (Tom) Young and Sandy (Don) Piper; a son, Dennis Hoff; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Mattison; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation begins after 5 p.m. Friday in Downs Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial at noon Saturday in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church. Inurnment at a later date in St. Francis cemetery.

Kenneth Christopherson
Kenneth Christopherson, 86, of Superior died Tuesday, June 26, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, June; sons Tom (Anne) of Granbury, Texas and Mark of Superior; a daughter, Judy (Frank) Dzikonski of Palatine, Ill.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Friday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment in St. Francis cemetery. Arrangements by the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home.
