David L. Katchmark, 57, of Moose Lake died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Moose Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters Denise of Cottage Grove, Minn., Renee of Oakdale, Minn., and Roxanne (Ed) Dickinson of Tampa, Fla.; sons Mark of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Jeff of Moose Lake; brothers Ted (Erma) of Hinckley, Bernard (Jeanette) of Sturgeon Lake, John (Bena) of Minneapolis, Leonard of Duluth and Frank (Sharon) of Hibbing; sisters Bernice (John) Granda of Crystal, Minn., RoseMarie (John) Thrun of Proctor, Leona (Wayne) Bibeau of Proctor, Leonilla (Jerry) Gilbert of Anoka, Virginia (Jim) Zezulka of Esko and Joann (Ken) Danelski of Superior; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Wednesday with 7:30 p.m. prayers in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home. Visitation continues 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Thursday in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Burial in Sunset Memorial cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials received will be donated to a charity in memory of David. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.

Robert M. Sprague
Robert M. Sprague, 74, of Iron died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in the Virginia Regional Medical Center.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Range Funeral Home in Virginia and continues 10 until the 11 a.m. service Thursday in Messiah Lutheran Church, Mountain Iron. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Salo cemetery, rural McGregor.

Helen (Anderson) Blake
Helen (Anderson) Blake, 55, of Hawley, Minn., died Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Merit Care Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, William and Harriet Anderson.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford of Hawley; a daughter, Rhonda Cheney (Banks); sons Brian (Anne) of Fargo, N.D., Leon (Terri) of Willis, Texas and Kevin (friend Kelly) of Barnesville, Minn.; grandchildren Joshua, Dexter, Alicia, Felicia and Brittany; brothers Bill (Rachel) Anderson of Swan River, Minn., Ed Anderson of Hibbing, Shane (Renee) Anderson of Hibbing, Scott (RaeAnn) Anderson of Floodwood and Brett (Connie) Anderson of Hibbing; sisters Barb (Dutch) Pastema of Grand Rapids, Becky Anderson of Blackberry, Minn., Sandy King, Martha Anderson and Melissa Anderson, all of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ball Bluff cemetery, Jacobson, Minn. Arrangements by Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, N.D.

Anna Carpenter
Anna Carpenter, 75, lifetime resident of Hibbing died Friday, April 27, 2001, in Hibbing.
She was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Hibbing, the daughter of William and Edith (Falk) Mattson. She was a 1943 graduate of Hibbing High School. She was a homemaker and member of the VFW Post 8510 Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith (Mattson) Balzum; her son, Clifford L. in 1992; and brothers John and William Mattson.

Anna is survived by sons John (Beth), Roger (Linda) and Duane (Brenda) Carpenter, all of Hibbing; daughters Linda (Alan) Vine and Sharon (Corey) Schloesser of Hibbing, Nancy (James) Dowding of Rapid City, S.D., and Jeanne (Ron) Aumann of Neilsville, Wis.; 28 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing and continues 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Hibbing. The Rev. Erik Holleque officiating. Interment in Hibbing Park (Maple Hill) cemetery.

Family services provided by Anderson-Daniels, a Bauman Family Funeral Home in Hibbing.

Ronald George Schienbein
Ronald George Schienbein, 69, of Barnum died Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Lisbon, Portugal.
He was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Milwaukee to George and Irma (Wachs) Schienbein. Ronald was married to Doris "Dori" Carlson on March 14, 1981, in Muskego, Wis.

The beloved husband, father and grandfather was a gifted woodworker, avid fisherman and golfer, an Army veteran, a retiree from the Falk Corp., and a member of the American Legion Post 415 of Barnum.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Dori; children George (Annalisa) Schienbein, Cheryl (Jim) Svehlek, Mark Schienbein, Gus Johnson, Jennifer (Mark) Corcoran and Todd Johnson; grandchildren Douglas, Alison, Samantha and Johnathon.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service Friday in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. The Rev. Alan Johnson officiating. Full military honors provided by the Honor Guard of Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Post 2962 and Ken Nyquist American Veterans Post 28 of Carlton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.

Ruth E. Johnson
Ruth E. Johnson, 78, of Rutledge died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Pine Medical Center, Sandstone.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Methven Funeral Home, Sandstone. Burial in Lakeview cemetery, Rutledge.

Alyce Jeannette Johnson
Alyce Jeannette Johnson, 90, formerly of Cloquet, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Nopeming Nursing Home.
Alyce was born Nov. 28, 1910, in Hibbing to Bengt and Ida (Johnson) Anderson. She grew up in Mahtowa and then moved to Cloquet.

Alyce was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet and a former member of the Cloquet American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Estley "Skip" in 1991, her parents; and three brothers.

Alyce is survived by a son, Donn (Lorna) of Milaca, Minn.; a grandson, Andy of Minneapolis; a granddaughter, Lisa (Sean) Whedan of Monticello, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Friday in Barr Brothers-Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Ave., Cloquet, (218) 879-4636. Entombment in Sunrise Memorial Park, Duluth.

Regina "Jean" G. Trifilette
Regina "Jean" G. Trifilette, 88, of Two Harbors entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 23, 2001, in Lake View Home, Two Harbors.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Robert) Ion of Two Harbors; a sister, Alice O'Leary of Montello, Wis., a grandson, Paul (Ellen) Rosowski of Stoughton, Wis., great-grandchildren Lauren and Paul; several nieces and nephews; and her special devoted friend for many years, Catherine O'Leary of Two Harbors.
Memorial Mass: 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Two Harbors. Burial in Silver Creek cemetery. Arrangements by Cavallin Funeral Home.

John E. Olson
John E. Olson, 83, a lifelong resident of Cook died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Cook Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; sons Keith, Dale (Adrianne) and Glen, all of Cook; daughters Grace (William) Garrick of Britt and Nancy (Darrell) Field of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Vera Svedberg of Parkville, Minn.; four foster children; grandchildren Derek Olson, Erika (Brian) Kneen, Billy, Kelly and Katie Garrick, Brian, John and David Olson, and Rachel and Eric Field; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday in Mlaker Funeral Home, Cook. Service at 1 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church, Cook. The Rev. Ned Eerdmans officiating. Interment in Cook Community cemetery.

Judith Elaine Van Heel
Judith Elaine Van Heel, 62, of International Falls died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Fargo, N.D.
She is survived by a son, Joe (Uschi) Van Heel; daughters Donna (Danny) Weaver and Teri (Brad) Youngs; two brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Green-Larsen Mortuary, International Falls. Service at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial in Riverside cemetery, Loman, Minn.

Daniel Lind
Daniel Lind, 61, of Virginia died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday in Range Funeral Home, Virginia. Burial in Greenwood cemetery, Virginia.

Raymond T. "Ray" Warnecke
Raymond T. "Ray" Warnecke, 74, of Silver Bay died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Miller-Dwan Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Breckenridge, Minn. He grew up in Duluth, attended Denfeld High School, and then entered the Navy, serving aboard a minesweeper in the Pacific Fleet during World War II.

After the war, he returned to Duluth and was employed as a field supervisor for a diesel and electric train equipment company and traveled around the country servicing railroad equipment for five years. He worked at the DM&IR; railway in Two Harbors for two years, then moved to Silver Bay in 1956, where he had since made his home. He was employed by Reserve Mining Co., and later at Cyprus and Northshore Mining, as an electrician in the power house, until retiring in 1993. He also worked part-time for Minnesota Power and Cooperative Light and Power of Lake County.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rose Kehn; a sister, Kathryn Schuler; and his wife, Barbara.

He is survived by his sons, Eric (Renee) and their children, Chase, Chelsea and Alexi of Beaver Bay, and Kurt (Karen) and their children, Jake, Kyle and Kari of Silver Bay.
Memorial Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Cavallin Funeral Home, Two Harbors. At Ray's request, no other services will be held.

Jennie M. (Antonelli) Novak
Jennie M. (Antonelli) Novak, 79, of Hibbing died Sunday, April 29, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, John J.; a daughter, Kathleen (Michael Niedenfuehr) Novak; a son, Dr. Richard (Jennifer); and grandchildren Jenny-Maria Niedenfuehr, Zachary Novak and Theo Novak.
Mass of Christian burial: 11:30 a.m. today in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing. The Rev. James Hauver as celebrant. Interment in Maple Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.
