Robert C. "Snazz" Galbraith
Robert C. "Snazz" Galbraith, 73, of Virginia died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at his cabin on Little Vermilion Lake in Canada.
He was born July 5, 1927, in Virginia to William and Gladys (Jennings) Galbraith and was a lifelong resident of Virginia. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the aircraft carrier USS Antietam (CV-36) in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He worked as a conductor for Duluth Winnipeg & Pacific Railway in Virginia and Superior, retiring April 27, 1991.

He was a lifelong member of the United Transportation Union Local 1067, a member of Moose Lodge 1003, Elks Lodge, Pratt Volden Mickelson Anderson American Legion Post 239 and Crellin Tini VFW Post 1113.

He loved spending time at his cabin on Little Vermilion Lake in Canada. He also loved cooking for his family and friends, especially at the deer camp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Peggy.

He is survived by a son, Butch of Virginia; daughters Wendy (Ed) Burek of Lakeville and Robbi (Louie) Damato of Valhalla, N.Y.; a brother, Bill (Marilyn) Galbraith of Virginia; grandchildren Robert Joseph Galbraith, PFC-USMC, Nicholas Galbraith, Christine, Louis and Rachel Damato and Cole Burek; his uncle, Stan Galbraith; and his special friend, Shirley Ford of Virginia.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Thursday in Bauman-Cron Funeral Home Chapel in Virginia, Father Larry Antus, O.M.I., officiating.

Edward J. Adamich Jr.
Edward J. Adamich Jr., 61, of Hibbing died Monday, May 21, 2001.
He is survived by his daughter, JoLee Adamich; his son, Jeremy Adamich; his mother, Mary Adamich; two brothers; a sister, a niece and a nephew; and a grandnephew.
Visitation: 10:30 until the 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial today in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. James Hauver as celebrant. Burial in Maple Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.

Florence E. (Rengo) Potter
Florence E. (Rengo) Potter, 74, of Midland, N.C., formerly of Automba, died Sunday, May 20, 2001.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, William; children Ronald J. (Linda) Potter, Constance Marie Johnson and Raymond W. (Annette) Potter; six siblings; a sister-in-law; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday and continues at noon until the 1 p.m. service Saturday in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.

Dorothy Mae Hughes
Dorothy Mae Hughes, 74, of Crosby died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in her home.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie (Edwin) Fillman; a son, Jeffrey Daniel Engman; and a grandchild, Elaine Marie (Todd) Haataja.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday in Koop Funeral Home in Crosby, the Rev. Paul Mattson officiating. Burial in Lakewood cemetery, Crosby.

Marjorie E. Seavey
Marjorie E. Seavey, 91, of Grand Rapids died Monday, May 21, 2001, in the Itasca Medical Center.
She was born May 13, 1910, in Mower County, Minn., to Leaman and Arvilla Twaites. She lived in Garner, Iowa, Rochester, Minn., graduated from high school in Emmons, Minn., and attended business college in Mankato, Minn. She married Roland Seavey on July 27, 1929. They lived in Austin, Minn., where their three children were born. In 1947 they moved to Jacobson, Minn., and then to Grand Rapids in 1963. She had resided on the River Road in Grand Rapids since the death of her husband, Roland in 1995.

She is survived by her sons Richard (Barbara) of Leroy, Mich., and Rodger (Elaine) of Port Angeles, Wash.; a daughter, Karen (Ralph) Edin of Grand Rapids; a sister, Ruth Katter of South Carolina; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Thursday in Libbey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial at noon Saturday in Lansing cemetery, Lansing, Minn. Arrangements by Libbey Funeral Home, (218) 326-4000.

Benjamin Lee and Nathan Isaiah Peterson
Benjamin Lee and Nathan Isaiah Peterson, twin infants, died on the day they were born, Thursday, June 7, 2001, in Falls Memorial Hospital, International Falls.
Survivors include their parents, Allen and Valerie Peterson; a brother, Seth Allen; and grandparents Milo and Kay Larson and Joyce Johnson.
Private family graveside service will be held in Riverview cemetery, Reedy Township.

Peggy Jean Love
Peggy Jean Love, 50, of Osceola, Wis., died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 5, 2001, in her home.
Visitation: 1:30 until the 2:30 p.m. service Tuesday in Barr Brothers-Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Ave., Cloquet, 879-4636. Private family interment in Maple Grove cemetery, Cloquet.

Ovedia Kalland
Centenarian
Ovedia Kalland, 103, died Saturday, June 9, 2001.
She is survived by daughters Helen Ruud, Lorraine Sampson, Vivian (Chuck) Olson Kostka; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 44 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Service 2 p.m. Wednesday in United Methodist Church, Grand Rapids. Burial in Lakeview cemetery, Coleraine. Arrangements by Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.

Anthony T. Sturk
Anthony T. Sturk, 93, longtime Coleraine resident, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Calumet.
Born June 22, 1907, in Pueblo, Colo., he was the son of John and Mary (Dasovich) Sturk. In 1911, his family moved to Nashwauk where he grew up and attended schools. He was a Coleraine resident from 1929 to 1995 when he moved to Bovey. Tony and Ann Krmpotich were married Nov. 18, 1927, in Grand Rapids. For many years, Tony and Ann enjoyed ballroom dancing. He had worked for the M.A. Hanna Mining Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1969 as foreman in the tire shop. He was a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Coleraine, a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1061 of Bovey where he held all offices and was the Fellow Moose of the Year in 1992. He was a 50-year member of the Grand Rapids Bowling Association, a charter member of the Itasca Council Knights of Columbus, a member of the Greenway Council Knights of Columbus, and had been a member of the Monsignor Hennebry Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus since 1985.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Sturk; his wife, Ann, April 25, 1996; and sisters Katherine, Rose and Mary.

Survivors include sons Richard A. (Pat) Sturk of Bovey, Robert L. (Bonnie) Sturk of Chesapeake, Va., and James M. (Nancy) Sturk of Grass Valley, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers Steve (Myrtle) Sturk and Joe (Wilma) Sturk, both of Chicago; sisters Ann Koko of Hibbing, Evelyn Bell of Davenport, Iowa, and Helen Zeffrio of St. John, Ind.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. in Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine. Mass of Christian burial 11 a.m. Friday in Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Coleraine. Interment in Lakeview cemetery, Coleraine.

Emil J. Rikala
Emil J. Rikala, 80, of Mountain Iron died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Virginia Regional Medical Center.
Visitation: Noon until the 1 p.m. service Tuesday in Range Funeral Home, Virginia, Pastor Kristin M. Foster officiating.

Duane A. Salmi
Duane A. Salmi, 56, of Mountain Iron died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Ann; a daughter, Kristen Salmi; sisters Laurene Love, Pauline Glennie, Karla Zaren and Wendy Walquist; a brother, Dale Salmi; stepmother, Arlene Salmi; other relatives.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 until the 2 p.m. service Wednesday, all in Bauman-Cron Funeral Home, Virginia. Inurnment in Greenwood cemetery.

Dr. John H. Crow
Dr. John H. Crow, 68, of North Oaks, Minn., formerly of Cloquet, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, after a brief illness.
John and his family moved from Iowa City, Iowa, to Cloquet in 1974. Shortly after, he established the Crow Veterinary Clinic. He retired in 1994 and moved with his wife to North Oaks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janet; children Dr. Scott (Jean) of Vadnais Heights, Minn., Dr. Sarah (Dr. Donald) Goebel of Cloquet and Susan (Dr. Richard) Justman of Minneapolis; grandchildren Megan and Madisen Crow, Alex and Tyler Goebel, and Drew, Jeff and Matt Justman; and a sister, Betty (Dr. Jesse) Irwin.
Visitation: 4-8 p.m. today in Holcomb-Henry-Boom North Chapel, 515 W. Hwy. 96, Shoreview, MN 55126, (651) 482-7606, and continues from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Centennial United Methodist Church, County Road C2 at Snelling Avenue, Roseville, Minn. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Friends of Animals Humane Society, Cloquet.

Raymond D. Hartzberg
Raymond D. Hartzberg, 81, of Iron died Friday, May 18, 2001.
He was a civil engineering graduate of the University of Minnesota and worked for MnDOT in Virginia.

He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Air Force, flying over the "Hump" between India and Southeast Asia and was a member of the Hump Pilots Association.

He is survived by his wife, Marvel; sons Donald of Bloomington, Minn., David of Spicewood, Texas, Wallace of Apple Valley, Minn., Ronald of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and John of Chisholm; three grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Diane) of Duluth; and his sisters, Evelyn Petersen of Duluth, Marion Indihar of LaGrande, Ore., and Carol (Bill) Woolsey of Minneapolis.
Visitation: 9:30 until the 10 a.m. service Wednesday in the Range Funeral Home in Virginia. Burial with 3 p.m. graveside services in the Round Lake cemetery in Tamarack.
