JEFFREY LEE FORSTROM
Jeffrey Lee Forstrom, 47, of Chisholm died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, in his residence.
He was born April 5, 1954, in Hibbing to Bill and Marge (Strandlien) Forstrom. He was a 1972 graduate of Hibbing High School and was a lifelong Hibbing-Chisholm area resident. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam era. He was united in marriage to Jennifer A. Wickman on May 27, 1983, in Hibbing. He worked as a drill operator for Hibbing Taconite Co.
Jeff was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, United Steelworkers of America Local 2705, the Hibbing Range Art Center and was active in the Chisholm Little League as a coach. Jeff was an active outdoorsman, loving husband and devoted father.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Forstrom; his first wife, Kathy,; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Surviving are his family, Jennifer, Erika, Heather and Aaron; his father, Bill Forstrom of Hibbing; his mother, Marge (Bud) Richards of Kelly Lake; a brother, Joel (Cheryl) Forstrom of Hibbing; sisters Brenda Jukich of Kelly Lake, Kim Csargo of Ely, Sandy (Bruce) Dumond of Kelly Lake and Melody (Rick) Petrie of Hibbing; and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. memorial service Tuesday in First Baptist Church, Chisholm, the Rev. Dan Erickson officiating. Visitation will continue after the service until 5 p.m. Arrangements by Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chisholm.
HELEN MAY FIELDS
Helen May Fields, 67, of Chisholm died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001.
Survivors include her husband, Roland D. "Bill"; sons Robert, Richard (Patti Lou), Leonard and Chester; two sisters; and five grandchildren.

Frank J. Kerr, 72, of Chisholm died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001.
Survivors include sisters Eva Kochevar, Helen (Robert) Monte; nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Anna Soroka.

Josephine F. Dropp, 87, of Chisholm died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, in her residence.
Survivors include her sons, John R. "Ron" (Helen), Jim (Marlene) and David (Sue); 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Frances Siltanen, 69, of Kettle River died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake.

CATHERINE M. HILL
Catherine M. Hill, 73, of Virginia, formerly of Britt, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001.
Survivors include her husband, Howard; daughters Kathleen Boyington and Carol (Terry) Heinonen; a son, Randall (Judy); a brother; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Lorraine M. Berts, 73, of Lakeland died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001.
Survivors include her husband, A. Herbert Berts; a sister, Lorna (Harold) Homola; a daughter, Sheila (Andy) LaVoie; sons Gary (Shelley)and Glenn (Kim); seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

LILLIAN M. SMITH
Lillian M. Smith, 74, of Parkville died Friday, Sept., 28, 2001, in the Virginia Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1927, to William and Ida (Saari) Lahti in Biwabik. She grew up and attended school in Biwabik, graduating from Biwabik High School. On Oct. 9, 1945, she was united in marriage with William Smith in Biwabik. The couple made their home in Parkville, where they lived for 51 years. She attended nursing school in Virginia, where she received her degree as a licensed practical nurse. She had worked as an LPN at the former Virginia Convalescent Center as well as being a homemaker and a mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lynnal Popilek in 1998; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, William; sons Russell Smith of Maplewood, Minn., Bruce (Gwen) Smith of Fergus Falls, Minn., Warren (Marianne) Smith of Virginia and Charles (Terri) Smith of Woodbury, Minn.; grandchildren Jacob (Niki) Smith, Siiri Smith, Rachel, Sarah, and Andrew Smith, Michelle (Michael) Varda, Steven and Jeff Smith, Shelby (Ed) Lunzer, and Eric Wenz; five great-grandchildren; brothers Alfred (Eleanor) Lahti of Mankato, Minn., and Walter Lahti of Lakeland; sisters Martha (Robert) Hansen of St. Paul and Helvi Ross of Sacramento, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
