Clinton E. Anderson, 90, of Aitkin died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, in Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin.
Visitation: Noon until the 2 p.m. service Thursday in Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home. Private family interment Friday at Ft. Snelling National cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Aitkin County Public Library.

ELIZABETH MARIE "BITSY" ANDREWS
Elizabeth Marie "Bitsy" Andrews, 43, of Bayfield died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, in Bayfield.
She was born Aug. 26, 1958, in Cloquet, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Morrissette) Peacock. In 1976, she graduated from Cloquet High School and has been a resident of Red Cliff since 1979. On June 26, 1980, she married Mike Andrews in Washburn.

Bitsy was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. She was a person who was always willing to help others, and had worked as a care-giver, child-care provider with the Circle of Life in Red Cliff, and was an artist. Bitsy will be sadly missed by those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers George and Emeron Peacock; a sister, Patty Peacock; and a niece, Becca Peacock.

Bitsy is survived by her husband, Mike, and sons Lance and Kenneth Jr., all of Red Cliff; brothers Robert (Kathy), Mike and Rich (Cheri) Peacock, all of Cloquet, Tom (Elizabeth) Peacock of Duluth, John (Luella) Peacock of Brookston, Minn., and Jim (Star) Peacock of Red Cliff; sisters Mary Peacock and Pam (Gerard) Sordelet, both of Cloquet, and Barb Schmitz of Red Cliff; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, and friends; and her Mino-de Nimisewag, Annie O'Brien and Marcia Peacock, both of Bayfield, Carolyn Gouge, Naomi Bressler, Di Defoe and Patt DePerry, all of Red Cliff, and Juanita Shabaiash of Cloquet.
Visitation: after 5 p.m. today until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Christmas day, at her home in Red Cliff. Cremation will take place in the Ashland Crematory Service. Arrangements by Bratley Funeral Home, Washburn.

JENNIE C. BELOY
Jennie C. Beloy, 79, of Eveleth died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, in Arrowhead Senior Living Community, Virginia, following a long battle with cancer.
She is survived by her mother, Jennie Mikolich; daughters Sandra (Robert) Paciotti and Debra (Bruce) Kangas; sons Bruce (Mary) Beloy and Brian Beloy; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation: Noon until the 1 p.m. service Wednesday in Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home Chapel, Eveleth. Interment in Eveleth cemetery.

WILLIAM A. McKIBBON
William A. McKibbon, 92, of Esko passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 29, 1909, to Fred and Alexandria (Pellerin) McKibbon in Scanlon. William married Anna F. Johnson on Oct. 1, 1928, in Carlton. He retired from Potlatch Paper Mill after 36 years and was also a member of the Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. William was a very compassionate person who loved his family and friends.

William was preceded in death by his wife in 1986; a grandson, Paul William; and his brothers, Andrew, Clarence, Walter and Frederick.

He is survived by his children, Ernie (Lola) of Esko and Ervin (Maria) of Columbia, Miss.; grandchildren Darrell (Cheryl), Keith, Brian (Shirley), Suzanne (Ronnie) Cook, Patricia (Chris) Pratka and Carol (Simon) Moree; great-grandchildren Bryan, Derek, Blair, Ashley, Emily, Keith, Shannon, Jacob, Lucas and Kellie; sisters Helen Johnson of Cloquet and Esther Korby of Scanlon; brothers Harry of Cloquet, Robert of San Antonio, Texas, and Russell (Marianne) of Barnum; sister-in-law Ramona of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Friday with vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in Barr Brothers-Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Ave., Cloquet, (218) 879-4636. Visitation continues from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Saturday in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 102 Fourth St., Cloquet, Father David Forsman as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Steve and David Larsen, and Ryan, Blair, Derek and Stanley McKibbon. Interment in New Calvary cemetery, Cloquet.

DR. STUART B. "STU" WALKER
Dr. Stuart B. "Stu" Walker, 70, of Lake Eshquaguma, formerly of Aurora, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Virginia Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Virginia, the son of Stuart and Lorna (Bates) Walker. He was a graduate of Virginia High School, class of 1949, Macalester College and the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Stuart did his residency in Duluth and then served in the Air Force as a flight surgeon. He joined the East Range Clinic in Aurora in 1962, and practiced there until his retirement in 1993. Stuart married Judith E. Carlson on Aug. 20, 1955, in Ely, and was a longtime resident of Aurora and Lake Eshquaguma.

Stuart was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Virginia, a life member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Eshquaguma Country Club, Biwabik Masonic Lodge 293 AF&AM;, Scottish Rite Bodies, Aad Temple Shrine in Duluth, Aad Temple Marching Band, Aurora City Band, and was an avid bridge player.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy on Dec. 15, 1998; brothers William and Frederick Walker; and a sister, Adele Meschke.

Stuart is survived by his children, Stuart (Jody) Walker of Littleton, Colo., Elizabeth (Joseph) Heckman of Hazelwood, Mo., Alison (Roy) Beauregard of Hoyt Lakes, and Wilson (Rebecca) Walker of Buffalo, Minn.; grandchildren Zachary, Justin, Bailey and Adrienne Walker, Andrew and Christopher Heckman, and Rachel and Stuart Beauregard; a niece; four nephews; and a host of friends.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Saturday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Virginia, the Rev. Roger Weaver officiating. Memorials are preferred. CORA P. JOHNSON
Cora P. Johnson, 97, of Eveleth died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Arrowhead Senior Living Community.
Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Johnson in 1957.

Survivors include her daughter, Joanne (Lawrence) LaPatka of Mountain Iron; son David C. (Janis) Johnson of Babbitt; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

MARY S. RODEN
Mary S. Roden, 95, of Aitkin died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, in Riverwood Health Care Center, Aitkin.

RALPH J. SILCOX
Ralph J. Silcox, 58, of Biwabik died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; sons Ryan and Lincoln; daughters Cheryl Thomas, Brenda Criner and Jodie McLaughlin; eight siblings; 13 grandchildren; two stepchildren; several nieces and nephews; and former wife Frankie.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. today in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home and continues from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday in Community United Church of Christ, Biwabik. Burial in Forest Hill cemetery.

PHYLLIS CAROL FAUST
Phyllis Carol Faust, 71, of Hoyt Lakes died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in White Community Hospital, Aurora.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert; sons Jeff (Sue) Faust and Mark (Lori) Faust; daughters Lynn Faust and Sheryl (Brad) Beck; five granddaughters; and five grandsons.
Visitation: 10:30 until the 11 a.m. service Saturday in Faith Lutheran Church, Hoyt Lakes. Inurnment in Fort Snelling National cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home, Aurora.

MILDRED ROMSLO
Mildred Romslo, 93, of International Falls died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in International Falls.
Survivors include sons Floyd, Mike and Jim Romslo; and a daughter, Sonja Romslo Strutz.
Visitation: 2 until the 3 p.m. service Friday in Zion Lutheran Church, International Falls. Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday in Margie cemetery, Margie, Minn. Arrangements by Green-Larsen Mortuary Inc. of International Falls.

BERNARD L."BEN" NELSON
Bernard L."Ben" Nelson, 91, of Cloquet died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, in Cloquet Community Memorial Nursing Home.
He was born May 15, 1910, in Hinckley, the son of Erick and Mathilda (Swan) Nelson. Ben married Bernice Burman on Oct. 29, 1932, in Willmar, Minn. He was a farmer and also worked as a millworker for Conwed Corp. for 25 years.

Ben was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet, taught Sunday school for many years, served on the Zion Church Board, was a member of the Zioneers and was a former member of First Lutheran Church in Hinckley.

He will be fondly remembered as a devoted family man. Ben dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ben was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joanne Marie; three sisters; and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bernice of Cloquet; sons Leonard of San Antonio, Texas, the Rev. Gerald (Kay) of Phoenix, and Dean (Gerry) of Barnum; daughters Judy (Ken) Keppler and Suzanne Gamble, both of Houston; foster daughters Kim Nelson of Hastings and Bonnie (Tom) Terpstra of Houston; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 9:30 until the 10 a.m. memorial service Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, 1000 Washington Ave., Cloquet. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet.

EDNA MAITLAND
Edna Maitland, 90, of Wrenshall passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, in Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet.
Edna was born March 18, 1911, to Ole and Lizzie Christopherson in Drummond. The family moved to Superior, where she attended school. She graduated from Superior State Teachers College at 16 and obtained a teaching position in Ashland. She taught there for two years and at 18 was appointed principal of that school. She married Alexander Maitland and moved to Chicago, where she was employed by Campbell's Soup Co. After World War II, she moved to Carlton, where she worked for Dr. John Butler. She then was employed by Diamond International, working there for many years until she retired.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Oliver; and a great-grandson.

She is survived by daughters Karen (Roland) Hensel of Bemidji and Edna Matten of Wrenshall; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 9 until the 10 a.m. service today in Nelson Funeral Care Chapel, Cloquet, Pastor Mike Keller officiating. Interment in Silverbrook cemetery, Wrenshall. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Care, Cloquet.
