Melvin Henry Sauter

Melvin Sauter, 82, of Prior Lake, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Melvin was born Jan. 20, 1927 at Green Isle, Minn. His parents were Henry and Mary (Kloempken) Sauter. Melvin married Marjorie (Gow) Sauter on June 11, 1951 at King County, Wash.

He is survived by wife, Marjorie Sauter; sons, James (Mary) Sauter of Eau Claire, Wis., William (Bernardine) Sauter of Gibbon, Minn., David (Kim) Sauter of Lynden, Wash., Daniel Sauter of Savage; eight grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Jennifer, Jessica, Robert, Frances, Grace and Katerina; great-granddaughter, Amelia; brother, Hilary (LeAnn) Sauter of Green Isle; sister-in-law, Elsie Sauter of Norwood, Minn. He was preceded in death by parents Henry and Mary (Kloempken) Sauter; brother, Paul Sauter.

Melvin was a member of the Prior Lake Rotary Club; he was a Shriner, a U.S. Navy veteran, Commander of the Savage V.F.W., and a Prior Lake School Board member for 15 years. Paul worked as an Insurance Salesman.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 15, from 4-7 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant Street S.E., Prior Lake. There also will be visitation at the church one hour prior to services.

Funeral services were Thursday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, 3611 North Berens Road N.W., Prior Lake. Interment at Fort Snelling National cemetery in Minneapolis. The Fort Snelling Memorial Rrifle Squad provided military honors. Pallbearers were Curtis Sauter, Scott Schmitz, Gene Sauter, Robert Sauter, David Kulsrud and Steve Kulsrud.

In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred to the Melvin Sauter Fund.

Nancy Meyer

Nancy Meyer, 72, of Eden Prairie, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the N.C. Little Hospice.

Nancy was born March 8, 1937 in Kansas City, Mo. Her parents were Franklin and Louise (Carr) Pexton. Nancy married George Meyer on Dec. 26, 1982 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prior Lake.

She is survived by children, Catherine Broberg of Hopkins, Linda (Charles) Weidner of Grafton, Wis., grandchildren, Martin, Nicholas, Emily and Rachel; stepchildren, Carol Meyer of Shakopee, Nancy (Mark) Hasse of Kansas City, Dan (fiancée Jane Evans) Meyer of Minnetrista; stepgrandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Katherine, Nathaniel and Rachel.

She is preceded in death by husband; parents; siblings, Robert Pexton and Sturdy Pexton.

Nancy was a passionate volunteer for Lifesource, where she spoke to many organizations about the importance of organ donation. Nancy was a recipient of a lung transplant five years ago. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prior Lake. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, traveling, golfing and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation was Tuesday, June 2, from 4-7 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home, Shakopee. Visitation was at the church one hour prior to the services.

Funeral services were Wednesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Prior Lake, with the Rev. John P. Vaughn presiding. Interment at St. Paul’s Lutheran cemetery in Prior Lake. Pallbearers were Chuck Weidner, Marty Broberg, Nick Broberg, Dan Meyer, Nate Meyer and Rob Macgregor.

Earl Flynn

Earl Flynn, 55, of Green Isle, Minn., passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009 at St. Francis Health Care Center, Shakopee.

Earl was born June 5, 1953 to parents, Neil and Lucia (Spear) Flynn, in Shakopee. A 1971 graduate of Prior Lake High School, Earl moved to a farm in Green Isle where he has been farming ever since. He enjoyed farming, his horses, going to auctions and visiting with friends.

He is survived by his brothers, Leo (Sharon) Adelmann of Belle Plaine and Neil (Patricia) Flynn II of Lydia; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Flynn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Prior Lake, with visitation 1-1/2 hours prior to the service at church. Interment will be St. Catherine Catholic cemetery, Prior Lake.

Isabel Frances Lenzmeier

Isabel Lenzmeier, 91, of Shakopee, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009 at Friendship Manor Care Center in Shakopee.

Isabel was born July 5, 1917 at Shakopee. Her parents were Charles and Anna (Stocker) Lallak. Isabel married Earl Lenzmeier on Oct. 28, 1941 at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church at Marystown. Earl died Aug. 11, 2006.

She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Isabel was an officer of St. Bridget’s Society for 50 years. She was a very active member of St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church. She enjoyed making mission quilts, sewing, gardening, baking and crocheting.

Visitation was Monday, June 1, from 4-7 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home, Shakopee. Visitation was at the church one hour prior to services.

Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church at Marystown, with Father Peter Wittman presiding. Interment at Marystown Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom Koskovich, Leander Wagner, Leon Luce, Steve Lenzmeier, Ron Pauly and Joe Theis.

Beryle Jones

Beryle Jones, 84, of Prior Lake, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Lodge on Natchez in Elko.

Beryle was born Sept. 28, 1924 at Vernon, Texas. Her parents were LaBaume and Woody (Dixon) Elliott. Beryle married Webster Jones on March 4, 1945 at San Angelo, Texas.

She is survived by children, Gordon (Linda) Jones of Sarasota, Fla., Nancy (Tom) Loesch of Northfield; grandchildren, Robert Jones, Glenn (Jessica) Erickson, Jennifer (Todd) Burleson; great-grandchildren, Isabella Erickson, Amber Burleson, Bryanna Burleson, Sharissa Burleson; niece, Stancie Jones; nephew, Thomas Jones.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Captain Webster Jones (retired Republic Airline pilot); daughter, Virginia Lee Jones; parents.

Beryle was a member of the Republic Airlines Pilots Wife’s Association.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m.-noon at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant St. S.E., Prior Lake. Private interment.

Joel Allen Klaessy

Joel Allen Klaessy, 62, of Prior Lake, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at his residence in Prior Lake.

He was born in Spencer, Iowa on Nov. 1, 1946 to Don and Marion (Green) Klaessy.

Joel was self-employed in retail furniture.

Private family services will be held.

Theresa Jean Tracy

Theresa Tracy, of Princeton, Minn. and formerly of Prior Lake, passed away at home on Thursday, May 28, 2009. Visitation was Tuesday, June 2, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Princeton.

Preceded by parents, Thomas and Ruth Tracy; brothers, Thomas and John; sister, Mary Therese. She will be deeply missed by son, Ryan (Jo Angela); siblings, Pat Tuorila, Ruth Komppa, Barbara Tracy (Ronald Sills), Mike Tracy; niece, Kelly; nephew and godchild Thomas Komppa and godchild Lea Michnowski.

Her sense of humor and her artistic talents endeared her to many. We are blessed to have had her in our life; heaven has gained another angel.

Susan Clipper

Susan Clipper, 73, of Prior Lake, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 9, 1936 in Jackson, Mich. to parents Robert and Dorothy (Bunker) Howlett. Susan attended the University of Michigan and married Gary Clipper in 1962. They lived in Prior Lake from 1967-1969. After moving to Michigan and Illinois they returned to Prior Lake in 1972 and started the family business, T.C. Clipper Company, which is now run by her three sons.

Susan enjoyed her Friday night dinners at the V.F.W. with friends, golfing, reading, Sweet Adeline's and especially keeping up with her busy grandchildren's activities.

Susan will be missed by her children, Kathy (Jamie) Hennen of Prior Lake, Mike Clipper of Plymouth, Chris (Piper) Clipper of Mound, Betsy (Dan Pepper) Clipper of St. Paul, Charlie Clipper of Minnetonka; grandchildren, Becky Hennen, Emily (Michael) Sherels, Jessica, Sydney, Ellie, Jack and Kacey Clipper; sisters, Sherry (Al) Anderson of Wyanddotte, Mich., Barb Gales of Michigan; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Clipper; parents; sister, Nancy Sears.

Visitation was Monday, July 27, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake. Visitation was at the church one hour prior to services.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at Church of St. Michael, Prior Lake. Pallbearers included Mike Clipper, Chris Clipper, Charlie Clipper, Dan Pepper, Jamie Hennen and Michael Scherels. Interment at Credit River cemetery, Prior Lake.

Albert F. Kuechle

Albert Kuechle, 83, of Jordan, passed away at his home on Friday, July 24, 2009.

The son of George and Susan (Hommerding) Kuechle, he was born Oct. 3, 1925 at his family’s homestead in Sand Creek Township. He lived his entire life in the Jordan area and was a dairy farmer. He married Bernice Mechtel in 1950 at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church in Marystown. He was very proud of all his accomplishments on the farm and he wished he could have shown his dad all the improvements to the family farm. Albert loved going to auctions, playing sheephead and also playing with the kids’ toys before Christmas morning. He was a quiet, strong and intelligent man who was very particular about everything, especially getting to church on time.

He will be loved and forever missed by his wife, Bernice; children, Duane (Keri) Kuechle of Jordan, Corrine (Darren) Hampton of Jordan; grandchildren, Alex and Anthony Kuechle and Kate Hampton; twin brother, Walter (Clara) Kuechle; sisters, Apollonia Gerold of Shakopee, Valeria Wolf of New Prague.

Visitation was held Tuesday, July 28, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan and also one hour prior to the service at church.

Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, July 29, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan, with Father Timothy Yanta presiding. Interment at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery, Jordan.
