Virginia M. Emerson
8/30/1922 — 1/4/2015
Virginia M. Emerson, age 92, of Savage, entered eternal life on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota.
Born on August 30, 1922, in Savage, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Emma (Kaufenberg) Coakley. She married Robert Emerson on August 23, 1947, in Savage.
Virginia was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Prior Lake. During WWII, she painted gliders. Virginia was employed as a secretary with Cargill for over 25 years. She and Robert enjoyed worldly travels to Germany, Ireland, and Hawaii. Her favorite pastime was playing bingo.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; siblings, George Coakley, Jr. 'Skipper', Bob Coakley, Donna McQuiston, Carol Fiola, Beverly Coakley. She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Robert) Thoma; grandchildren, Troy (Sherrie) Thoma, Todd (Stacy) Thoma, Traci Thoma (Phil Poepping); great-grandchildren, Amanda, Madyson, Annie, May, Greta, and Reed; sister, Lois Belcher. Virginia enjoyed visiting with her family, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joseph T. 'Joe' Klehr
1/9/1939 — 12/1/2014
Joe T. Klehr, age 75, of Shakopee, entered eternal life on Monday December 1, 2014, at St. Gertrude's Health Center in Shakopee.
Joe was born in Spring Lake Township, Scott County, Minnesota, on January 9, 1939, the son of Leo and Isabelle (Theis) Klehr. He married Mary Baltes on September 17, 1966, in Jordan, Minnesota. Joe served in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter.
Joe was a 3rd Degree member of the Shakopee Knights of Columbus, he enjoyed fishing, his time at the cabin with his family, gardening, playing cards, and listening to old time music.
Survived by wife, Mary; children, Mike (Tracee), Kim Hansen, and Mark; grandchildren, Matt, Mya, and Mason; sisters, Donna Shea, Marilyn (Joe) Steinmetz, Eileen (Jim) Theis; sisters-in-law, Polly (John) Schneider, Bonnie (Steve) Barnd. Preceded by parents, Leo and Isabelle; son-in-law, Jay Hansen; sister and brother-in-law, Rosie and Ed Scheffler; brother-in-law, John Shea; Mary's parents, Wilfred and Mildred Baltes.

Wolter 'Walter' Arinus Koert Loggers
10/4/1924 — 11/30/2014
Walter Loggers, age 90, of Shakopee, died November 30th, 2014, in his home, surrounded by family.

'A stranger is a friend I have not met' was a favorite motto of Walter's.

Walter was born on October 4, 1924, in Sumatra, Indonesia, a Dutch colony at the time, to Otto Loggers and Gezina (Ini) Keers. He was the middle child, and only son of five children. With his family, he went to Holland (The Netherlands) in 1937. He served as a Dutch Marine, was wounded in wartime, and subsequently received the Dutch Purple Heart. He earned a degree in tropical agriculture and emigrated to Minnesota in 1951. On June 26, 1955, he married Aletta 'Letty' Semmelink in Maple Plain, MN, and the same year became a US citizen. Initially he worked as a milk tester and welder. He was a proud downtown Shakopee business owner of Loggers Photography & Jewelry, and later, a salesman - earning several sales awards for Prudential. He joined Rotary, having a passion for their High School Exchange Program, and invited many foreign students into the family home. He was also a Mason, Shriner with the Zuhrah Temple, member of Netherlands-American Association, and a Lion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Anneke Drupsteen-Loggers and Bertha Aleva-Loggers.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Aletta Loggers; sisters, Henriette Bouvy-Loggers and Tieneke de Booy-Loggers of Holland; children, Faith Loggers-Jamnik (Joel) of Shoreview, Chris (Kathy Ahlenslager) of Colville, WA and Otto (Elizabeth Trice-Loggers) of Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, Joshua, Christina, Elise, Anneke and Irenee; and other relatives and friends.

Lila A. Bauer
4/18/1937 — 11/6/2014
Lila A. Bauer, age 77, of Shakopee, entered eternal life on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
Lila was born in Jordan, Minnesota, April 18, 1937, the daughter of Philip and Florence Eiden. She married LeRoy Bauer on January 5, 1957, in Jordan.
Lila is survived by 11 children, Allan Bauer, Anita (Steve) Baudoin, all of Shakopee, Roger (Rose) Bauer, of Jordan, Kenny Bauer and his friend, Pamela, of Shakopee, Geralyn (Jim) Cooper, of Jordan, Diane (Joe) Hentges, Jim (Jacki) Bauer, all of Shakopee, Dennis Bauer and his friend, Laura, of Jordan, Cathy (Danny) Theis, of Prior Lake, Jeff Bauer and his friend Jenny, Bruce (Kelly) Bauer, all of Shakopee; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Daniel (Fran) Eiden, Phil (Ellen) Eiden, Gary (Joan) Eiden, Florence (Glen) Deutsch; brother-in-law, Clem Kreuser. She was preceded in death by husband, LeRoy (2008); parents; sister, Patricia Kreuser; brother, David Eiden.
Lila was a member of the Council of Catholic Women of the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne. She also served the parish as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member and chair person of the Funeral Lunch Committee at the parish for several years. Lila was also a member of the Chaska Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Kathleen L. Rein
6/10/1945 — 11/3/2014
Kathleen L. Rein, age 69, of Shakopee. She was a fighter, and battled cancer for 2 years and 10 months. She entered eternal life on Monday, November 3, 2014, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Shakopee.
Kathy was born on June 10, 1945, in Shakopee, Minnesota, the daughter of Gilbert and Myrtle (Fischer) Neutgens. She graduated from Guardian Angels Catholic High School in Chaska. On June 4, 1966, she married Jim Rein in Chaska.
Kathy had worked as an electronic assembler for Data Card, and more recently worked as a custodian for the Three Rivers Park District. She and Jim did everything together, and when asked, she would try anything. Kathy also enjoyed her time with Jim and friends while wintering in Florida.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Richard (Tammy); grandchildren, Amber and Alex. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Myrtle Neutgens.

Alice M. Fehring
12/18/1917 — 10/27/2014
Alice M. Fehring, age 96 of Shakopee, entered eternal life on Monday, October 27, 2014, at her home.
Alice was born in Iona, Minnesota on December 18, 1917, the daughter of William and Odelia (Miller) Hermeling. She married Leo Fehring on January 7, 1941, in Wilmont, Minnesota.
Alice provided daycare in her home for 373 kids, she was a volunteer in the Shakopee Public Schools, and did quilting for the mission at the Church of St. Mark.
Preceded by husband, Leo; son, Thomas; parents, William and Odelia; brothers, Jerome and Joe Hermeling; sisters, Lola Voss and Fidelis Hoffman. Survived by children, Nancy (Fred) Fuecker, Anita (Charles) Korton, Jim (Bibiana), Lynne (Larry) Roepke, Dan (Mary Lu); 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters and 2 brothers, Donna Kremer, May Johnson, Mary Olson, Betty Harr, Ivona (Tom) Risacher, Bill (Shirley) Hermeling, Larry Hermeling; sisters-in-law, Betty Hermeling, Sophie Johannes, Donna Fehring.

Lorraine Ann Thielen
2/14/1917 — 2/1/2012
Lorraine Ann Thielen, age 94, of Shakopee, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at her residence at Emerald Crest Care Center in Shakopee.
Lorraine was born February 14, 1917, in Chanhassen Township, Carver County, the daughter of George and Mary (Kreuser) Schmitt. She married Donald E. Thielen on August 31, 1953, in Shakopee.
Lorraine started her working career at Fort Snelling National cemetery, and then was a clerk at various grocery stores in the area.
She was very proud of the fact that she has been a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shakopee her entire lifetime. Lorraine was also a member of the V.F.W. #4046 Ladies Auxiliary in Shakopee.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. (2001); brothers, Raymond, Karl, and Harold; sisters, Alice Hammers, Lucille Williams, Dorothy Raser, Ethel Worm, and Nancy Huss. She is survived by her 3 sisters, Sister Virginia Schmitt, of Indiana, Lois Kubes, and Harriet Pink, both of Chaska; sister-in-law, Adella Schmitt of St. Patrick; many nieces and nephews.

Doreen D. Lusignan
4/24/1927 — 1/28/2012
Doreen D. Lusignan, age 84, of Shakopee, died on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
Doreen was born on April 24, 1927, in Manchester, England, the daughter of Harry and Lily (Meyers) Dunn. She married Zefere Lusignan on July 17, 1947, in Greenbush, MN. After raising her 9 children, she was employed by Fremont Engineering, then Birchwood Laboratories as a lead line operator, lastly she worked for Shakopee Public Schools as a lunch lady in the cafeteria. Doreen was a member of the Council of Catholic Women at St. Mark's Catholic Church.
Doreen is preceded in death by her husband, Zefere and daughter, Yvonne. She is survived by her children, Pamela (Michael Nelson) Lusignan, Barry (Janice) Lusignan, Keith Lusignan, Kevin Lusignan, Brian Lusignan, Colin Lusignan, Terry (Shari) Lusignan, Mary Jo Schuette; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Donald James Ashton
8/17/1955 — 1/25/2012
Donald James Ashton, age 56, of Jordan, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at his residence. Born August 17, 1955, the son of Frederick and Rosemary (Kopel) Ashton. He married Nann Hadley on June 28, 1975, in Edina. Don served in the United States Army from 1975-1978. He was employed by Thermo King, and worked in research and development. Don enjoyed spending time at the cabin, and especially liked fishing and ice-fishing.
Survived by wife, Nann; daughter, Mandy (Mike) Lenz; son, Charlie (Laura); mother, Rosemary; grandchildren, Mellina, Marie, Madelyn, Mallorie, Michael David Lenz, III, Hannah and Hailey; sisters and brothers, JoAnn (Bob) Smishek, Bob (Sandra), Nancy (Bob) MacDonald, and David. preceded in death by father, Frederick; granddaughter, Lillian.

Carol M. Sulik
9/2/1946 — 3/16/2012
Carol M., age 65, of Shakopee, died on Friday March 16, 2012, at her residence. Born on September 2, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Bertrand and Virginia (Hartmann) Goemer. She was a graduate of St. Margaret's High School. Carol married Michael Sulik.
Survived by husband, Michael; mother, Virginia Goemer; brothers, Lee (Cathy), Gene (Nancy); sisters, Lisa Goemer (Pete), Laura (Mark) Nelson. preceded in death by father, Bert Goemer; brother, Glen Goemer.

Steven H. Pieper
10/13/1953 — 3/13/2012
Steven H., age 58, of Shakopee. Born October 13, 1953, in Aurora, Colorado, the son of William H. Bill, Sr., and Virginia Pieper. He worked for 40 years at CPP Minneapolis as a manufacturing supervisor.
Survived by sons, Jeremy and Steven H. Jr.; parents, William H. Bill, Sr., and Virginia; sisters, Cheryl Pieper, Debra (Charles) Hawkinson; brother, William, Jr.; significant other, Jeannie Johanson. preceded in death by grandparents.
