Mary Rose Schesso, age 84, of Shakopee, died on May 16, 2012, at St. Gertrude's Health Center in Shakopee.
Born January 22, 1928, in Shakopee, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Theis) Hennen. She married Roman Schesso on June 23, 1949 in Shakopee.
Mary enjoyed playing cards, dancing, needle work, spending time with her Red Hat group, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She volunteered her time at the CAP Agency in Shakopee, and at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. Mary also served school lunches at St. Mark's School and Shakopee Area Catholic School.
preceded in death by husband, Roman; daughter, Nancy Mau; parents, Frank and Emma Hennen; brothers, Ervin and Melvin Hennen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lillian Hennen, Phyllis Hennen, Donna Hennen, Paul Rosen, Roger Marschall, Bill Hauer, Frank Krittenbrink. Survived by daughter, Amy Lee (David) Schaaf; grandchildren, Jill (David) Norby, Stephanie Schaaf, Nicole Riedel (fiance, Craig Neu), Richard Mau; 4 great grandchildren, Conner, Ethan, Bobby, and Morgan; brothers and sisters, Lucille Rosen, Dolores Marschall, Renelda Hauer, Bernice Krittenbrink, Sister Lalande SSND, Lorna (Richard) Paul, Robert (Rosetta) Hennen, Richard (Janice) Hennen, Joann (Ronald) Schneider; brother-in-law, Don (Shirley) Schesso; sister-in-law, Darlene Schesso.

Jean Emily Mullin
10/25/1933 — 5/14/2012
Jean Emily Haferman Mullin, age 78, of Shakopee, MN, died on Monday, May 14, 2012, from ALS Lou Gehrig's Disease, at St. Gertrude's Care Center in Shakopee.
Born in New Prague, MN, on October 25, 1933, the daughter of Lawrence and Evelyn (Zaun) Haferman.
Jean spent all of her childhood in Lydia, MN, receiving her early grade school education at Dist. 21; the two room school in Lydia. She went on to Jordan High School and graduated with the class of 1951.
The fall of 1951, Jean decided to go on to Mankato State University. She earned a teaching degree in Elementary Education.
Jean's first teaching assignment was with the Prior Lake School Dist. After spending a year in Germany, France, and Spain, she returned and taught in the Shakopee School Dist. at Central Elementary, from 1956-1969.
In 1957, Jean became very interested in politics, and joined the Young Republicans. She was chairwoman of Dick Mertz's campaign when he ran for Senator. She was also chairwoman for Richard Thomas. Jean attended many state conventions as a delegate from Dist. 35B. She was a delegate to two national conventions, one in San Diego in 1996, the other in Philadelphia in 2000.
Jean enjoyed her teaching career, and her time working with the Republican Party. She loved to read all kinds of literature, and enjoyed being alone listening to the quiet.
preceded in death by husband, James Mullin; parents; and sister, Bonnie Timmons.
Survived by her companion and best friend, Gene Brown and family; sister, Cindy Royle; brother, Larry (Gerrie) Haferman; several nieces and nephews.

Karen L. Hass
7/5/1949 — 5/9/2012
Karen L. Hass, age 62, of Shakopee, after a long fought battle with leukemia, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Karen was born on July 5, 1949, in Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of Robert and JoAnn (Liffrig) Starleaf. After high school she attended Business School. Karen had an entrepreneurial spirit. She owned and managed a bar, and then worked as an administrative coordinator for Time Warner Cable, Shakopee Chevrolet, and most recently Biffs, Inc. in Shakopee.

Survived by her son, Mike Young and wife, Denise; brother, Greg Starleaf and wife, Gina; many other loving relatives and friends; significant other, Bill Wetmore, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Barbara Amundson
2/8/1933 — 5/6/2012
Barbara Amundson, 79, of Savage, died Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Edina, MN. She was born in Minneapolis on February 8, 1933, to Clyde, (Click), and Lucille (Gossett) Williams. She married Gary Amundson on August 11, 1956 and enjoyed 59 years of marriage prior to losing Gary in 2011. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed walking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by son, Gary Jr.; grandsons, Collier (Rebecca), and Chase (Bethany); great-grandson, Griffin Lee Amundson; daughter-in-law, Nancy Amundson. Special thank you to Amanda Engelson and Fairview Hospice and Sunrise Assisted Living for their compassion.

Michael James Gregoire
10/27/1969 — 6/27/2012
Michael James Gregoire, age 42, of Shakopee, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at St. Gertrude's Health Center in Shakopee. Mike was born on October 27, 1969, in Norman, Oklahoma, the son of Bruce and Peggy (Schumacher) Gregoire. On August 17, 1996, he married Melissa Schettler in North Dakota.
Mike graduated from the University of North Dakota with a business degree. He was a Beta Theta Pi at UND. Most recently, Mike worked as a marketing manager for Acer. Prior to working for Acer, he worked at Best Buy for 13 years, where he made many good friends.
Being raised in North Dakota, Mike enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially pheasant hunting. His hobbies included baseball, basketball, golf, traveling and special trips to the BWCA. He enjoyed playing all kinds of games, and he played to win. Mike coached his children on many youth sports teams in Shakopee. Spending quality time with his family was very important to him.
Survived by wife, Melissa and their 3 children, Mason, McKenzie, Luke; parents, Bruce and Peggy of Thompson, ND; brother, Todd (Ruth) of Waconia, MN; grandmother, Veronica Gregoire of Grand Forks, ND; mother-in-law, Kay Schettler, of Bismarck, ND; many relatives and friends.
preceded in death by grandparents, Robert Gregoire, Vernon and Donna Schumacher; father-in-law, Delbert Schettler.

Georgette Hergott
1/13/1921 — 6/21/2012
Georgette S., age 91, of Shakopee. Born in Spring Lake Township on January 13, 1921, the daughter of Gregory and Ida (Sand) Boehmer. She and Donald A. Hergott were married on August 21, 1943 in Shakopee. For 17 years Georgette worked as a dietary aid at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee. She was a volunteer for Mobile Meals and Loaves and Fishes. She was an excellent cook and baker. Georgette and Donald loved traveling together.
Georgette is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and parents. Survived by children, Yvonne (Stan) Andresen of Mankato, Michael, Mark (Bev), Pam (Mike) Reynolds, Greg, all of Shakopee; grandchildren, Jeff, Tami, David, Thomas, Michelle, Kenzie, Matthew, Bryan, Kayla; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Germaine Ryan and Grace Scherer; nieces and nephews.

Martha Miles
3/5/1923 — 6/20/2012
Martha A. (Rowe) Miles, age 89, of Shakopee, died on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at St. Gertrude's Health Care Center in Shakopee.
Born on March 5, 1923, in Abingdon, Illinois, the daughter of Dr. Jesse Rowe and Nina Humphrey. She married Dr. Theodore O. Miles on September 25, 1943, in Abingdon, Illinois.
Martha worked at Donaldson's Department Store, and for many years assisted in her husband's optometrist office. Most recently, she worked at Pearson's Florist in Shakopee.
Martha was truly an inspiration to her family, and she will be deeply missed.
A special thanks to the staff at St. Gertrude's for the loving care they gave to Martha.
Survivors include her 3 daughters, Jessica (Herbert) Rott, Priscilla (Victor) Merryman, Pamela Dahlstrom; grandchildren, Tad (Sally) Merryman, Mark (Beth) Merryman, Whendy (Brad) Gass, Margaret (Bryan) Trabert, Rebecca (Brendon) Anderson, Stephanie (Kyle) Flaherty; great-grandchildren, Nick Ipsen, Emily Merryman, Sebastian Merryman, Morgan Trabert, A.J. Trabert.
preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Mary Frances Eagle.

William J. Wolf
10/28/1934 — 6/15/2012
William J. Wolf Sr., Bill, age 77, of Apple Valley, died on Friday, June 15, 2012, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He is survived by his loving wife, Carole; children, CaroleRenee' and Maddie the Beagle, William II and Donna Wolf with grandchildren William III (14) and Jonathan (13), and Adrienne Wolf Weingart and Paul Willems with grandchildren Makaila (10) Kyllie (7.5) Alysa (1). Bill (Dad) will always be remembered for his attitude and passion for family, his wit, intellect, patience, and zeal for life. He was married to Carole for 52 years and worked for 3M Company for 33 years. While we are sad to be without him, we are happy for Bill as he is with Jesus, walking and running about. Dad, Bill, Grandfather, we will miss you. Love, your family.

Mary Bernice Miller

Mary 'Bernice' (Weiland) Miller, age 96, of Shakopee. Born on November 19, 1915, in Belle Plaine, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Feldmann) Weiland. Bernice married Harold Miller in 1940 in Shakopee.
Survived by sons, Bruce and wife Susan, Chris and wife Marcia, both of Chanhassen, and Jeff and wife Marianne of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Shawn and wife Amy, Shannon, Brian, Brett, and Scott; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Casey, Theodore. preceded in death by husband, Harold; brother, William Casey Weiland.

Mary E. Hilla
4/15/1955 — 5/25/2012
Mary E. MaMaBear Singewald Holtz Hilla of Burnsville, age 57. Born on April 15, 1955, surrounded by her beloved children, passed peacefully from this life on May 25, 2012.
She heroically fought with all of her might to beat the disease that robbed her of so many things. But it did not rob her of her beauty, her silly sense of humor, her class, her sassiness, her strong will, her fun spirit, and her love for all she encountered. Her biggest pride was to be the mother of four daughters, three sons-in-law, and a grandma to her long-awaited granddaughter.
Survived by her cherished daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Phil Anderson, Julie and Mark Johnson, Kristy and Mike Farb, Jamie Hilla; adored granddaughter Maya Farb, and six grand-dogs; as well as her dear siblings and family and friends, including: seven brothers, Jack (Linda), Tom (Terry), Bob (Joan), Ron (Lori), Bill (Julie), Jim (Cindy), Mike (Rachel), two sisters, Cindi (Jim), Amy (Steve); 35 nieces and nephews who consider her their favorite Aunt Mary; aunt, Jelaine; uncles, Bill (Rita), Dick (Jean), Ed (Pat), and many, many more who touched her life.
A special thanks to all of the individuals from the Regent of Burnsville, Dakota Communities Inndale, PSC Edina and Fairview Methodist Hospice. You enriched Mom's life profoundly and she, as well as all of us, considers you family.
MaMaBear, we love you more than words and are so proud of how you lived your life - full of passion, even amongst your struggles. What a legacy to leave for us! We know you are shining bright amongst the angels - we'll share you with them for a while until we are together, again.
