Age 61, of Mahtomedi, died gently on March 31, 2013, after living well and bravely with kidney cancer since 2007. Mara was born in Ashland, WI on January 12, 1952, the daughter of Keith D. and Lois (Thoreson) Tait. In addition to raising three sons, Mara enjoyed a houseful of daycare children for 16 years. She loved horses (learning to ride at age 8), dogs, eagles, feeding and watching the many birds in her back yard, scaring off the crows, good loud music (be it rock, classical, or country), being with her family and close friends, watching Grey's Anatomy, and reading a really good novel. Mara is survived by her husband Dennis; sons Troy, Casey, and Joe; brothers Scott and Mike Tait; special niece Shonda Baggett, and other relatives and friends whose love so helped and supported her these last years. Mara was preceded in death by her parents. A heartfelt thank you to The Affirming Life Support group, Mara's stage 4 women's group, who she was with since 2009, and the St. Mark's Cancer Conqueror's group who she was with since the beginning. You all made it possible for Mara to hang in there when the times got tough, and cheered with her when times were good. Bless every one of you. James is survived by Sons; Michael (Julie) Dearring, Darren Dearring all of Minnetonka, MN, Kevin Berens of Richfield, MN. Daughters; Tomika (Elijah) Dearring Muhammad of Illinois, Jaquita Berens of Lincoln, NE, Tiffany Sheets of Illinois. Brother; Melvin (Mattie) Claybrook of Racine, Wisconsin. Sisters; Karen (Robert Halliburton) Claybrook, Tonia Claybrook, Susan Claybrook and Cathi Goodwin all of Bloomington, Indiana. Beloved ex-wife Diana Dearring and Grandchildren; Riley, Jalen, Dailee, Devyn Dearring, Elijah Dearring Muhammad, Jada Moore, Ashia, Mario Rhodes, Kevin C. Berens. Special Friends; Fraizer (Jerri) Searcy and James (Mattie) Cushenberry.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Froelich (Joseph); her son; Brian Huff (Yvonne); her grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Alexander, Molly & Jacqueline; her great grandson, Dexter. Also survived by her brothers, Larry, Gary & Jerry; her sisters, Linda, Wendy, Ramona, Rebecca & Rose; her stepsister Georgia, along with many other family and friends. Karren's wishes were for no funeral service to be held. A celebration of her life will be held at the North St. Paul VFW on Saturday, April 13th, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Age 64 of Minneapolis, passed away at home on Sat., Mar. 23, 2013 surrounded by those who loved him. Born in Hollywood, AL on September 11, 1948. preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. and Lilian King O'Neal and many of his siblings. Bob was Arlene Chosas' life partner for 22yrs. He volunteered 18 yrs at the Catholic Charities Branch One food shelf. He made many friends in the neighborhood and at the food shelf over the years. He is considered a member of the Chosa family and was called "Uncle Bob" by the younger family members. He will be missed by all of us. A heartfelt thanks to the Allina Hospice staff for their wonderful help. Services will be held TODAY, Fri., Mar. 29, 3PM at MTC Bldg., 1308 E. Franklin Ave., Minneapolis.

Welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by our Lord and Savior on March 22, 2013, Marcella joins her first husband, Arthur Sutton; parents, LeRoy & Louise Parenteau; sister, Carol Miller; brother, LeRoy E. Parenteau; brother-in-law, Bernard Morency; niece, Linda Fuller; and nephew, Kris Parenteau. Survived by her husband, Roy LaFosse; brothers, Richard Parenteau (Marge), Raymond Parenteau (Jane); sisters, Madeline Morency-Jantz (Allan), Sarah Berguetski (George), Teresa Bain, Anita Flynn (David); and many nieces and nephews. Marce was a member of the WBL American Legion for many years, attended WBL High School, and St. Mary of the Lake Elementary. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Marcella's life will be held at St. Mary of the Lake Church, White Bear Lake, gathering 10-11 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., lunch to follow, on Wednesday, March 27. She was an extraordinary musician; known for "keeping the beat" with her late husband, Joe. Marlys will be missed by her son, Kelly James (Carrie) Daoust; granddaughters, Chloe & Ava; sisters, Beatrice (Howard) Wallmow & Jeanene Rethlake; brother, Bruce Rethlake; nieces & nephews; other loving relatives and friends. Age 75 of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 17, 2013, after a 4 year struggle with leukemia. Christine was born in Deer River Minnesota and attended school at the Flandreau Indian School. At various times in her life, she lived on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation, in Minneapolis, in Greenbush, and in Redwood City, California. She enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and going to the casino. She walked daily, and could often be spotted wearing a leopard print scarf or sequined hat. She expressed her observations on life with a repertoire of irreverent and humorous sayings. Christine was preceded in death by her mother Jesse Lyons, brothers Leonard Fairbanks and Alfred Lyons, and sister Eleanor Wilson. She is survived by her brother Ted Lyons, her children Duane Fairbanks, Maryanna Harstad, Michael Pederson, Cheryl Pederson, Dwight (Valerie) Pederson, and grandchildren Eli, Aaron, Louisa and Madison. Wake service will be on Wednesday March 20 at 7:30 pm with dinner to follow. Funeral mass will be held Thursday March 21 at 10 am. Both will be at Gichitwaa Kateri Church, 3045 Park Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55407. Interment will be at a later date in northern Minnesota. Memorials preferred to the Dorothy Day Center in St. Paul, Minnesota or to the family.
