Peterson, Goodrich Allen

Age 89, of Big Lake, passed away March 13, 2013. A Marine veteran of WWII, he also drove one of the first U.S. Highway Post Office buses out of the Twin Cities area, and was a longtime driver for Jefferson Lines, who enjoyed playing his banjo and harmonica in a traveling polka band in his early years. preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl. Survived by his loving wife and caretaker, Margaret; sons, Gary (Virginia) Peterson, Edward Peterson, and Bradley (Lynn) Peterson; daughter, Lisa (Frank) Fuller; brother, Leroy Peterson; granddaughters, Amber, Chelsea, Courtney, Leanne, and Sarah; grandsons, Kevin, Daniel, and Scott; great-grandson, Liam; and 13 nieces and nephews. Memorial service 11 AM Wednesday, March 20th, at Saron Lutheran Church, 311 Lake Street South (Highway 25), Big Lake, MN, 55309.

Age 59, of Andover, went home to Jesus on March 13, 2013. preceded in death by parents, Walter and Shirley Gustafson. Susie was dedicated to serving her Savior and had a warm embrace for everyone she met. She is survived by husband of 33 years, Phil; daughters, Kelley (Mike) Koonce, Kendra (Josh) Bennett; sister, Julie (John) Dale; brother, W. Dave (Pat) Gustafson; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Celebration of Susie's life Sunday, April 14, 2013, 3-6 PM at Coon Rapids City Center, 11155 Robinson Drive, Coon Rapids. Memorials preferred to the donor's favorite charity.

Selb, Bruce Joel

Bruce was born in Camden, NJ to Joe and Vera Mowery Selb. He graduated Glasboro State University with a degree in Mathematics. While working at Fischer- Porter Engineering he met his wife, Linda Mann Selb and in 1976 they were married and have resided in Burnsville, MN since 1985. Survived by his wife, Linda, sister Sheryl Staszewski, and lots of nieces and nephews. Through the years he worked for Foxboro Inc, in marketing, Sprint and U.S.West( Quest) as a cell tower technician and radio frequency Engineer . While at US West he was chosen to go to the Salt Lake Olympics. Through his work he helped shape the wireless industry in its early days and paved the way for today's communication. He had an appetite to learn and was passionate to read all he could. He was a member of various professional organizations. As an avid fan of railroading both model and real he joined local RR clubs and national groups. He loved fixing things and valued his health. Bruce became a board member at Wescott's Friends of the Library, an AARP Tax aide, a tutor in Burnsville's GED program, a volunteer in all aspects of " Good in the Hood " at Cedar Crest Church, a technician at Oak Grove Church and a coach with Richfield duo language school's Lego League. He thaught 4th and 5th graders how to build and program Lego Robots to do various tasks in a yearly competition. He loved his team and they him, especially after winning this complex task with a #2 over all. Bruce will be dearly missed by all.

Ducklow, Ralph Merton
April 10, 1936 - March 9, 2013
Age 76, of River Falls, WI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on March 9 at United Hospital in St. Paul. He was the first of eight children born to Merton and Esther (Beckwith) Ducklow on April 10, 1936, in Spring Valley, Wis. He spent his childhood growing up in Spring Valley, graduating from Spring Valley High School in 1955. He loved all sports, but basketball was his favorite. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lake Champlain. In 1957, he married Joan M. Ingli. They made their home in River Falls, raising their three daughters. He spent his career working for the U.S. Postal Service delivering mail on the west side of River Falls, retiring in 1991 after 31 years. Joan passed away in 1996. In 2004, he married Virginia Lofgren. He enjoyed so many things including a good cup of coffee, fishing, old cars, old trains, his garden, bird watching, tinkering, woodworking, the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Twins, and spending time with his family and friends. His biggest passion and pride was the many years spent following his grandsons excel in wrestling. He was definitely the social butterfly of the family. There was no such thing as a stranger to him. Ralph was the "Jack of all Trades." There wasn't anything that he couldn't do. He was always right there to help anyone who needed help. He was a wonderful man, very fun-loving with a heart of gold, a great father and a terrific grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan; father Merton; stepfather, Adolph Norderhaug; brother Arlan; great-granddaughter Leilana; and best friend, Jim Rutherford. Surviving are his mother, Esther Norderhaug; wife Virginia and her daughter, Megan Lofgren (Paul Hanten); his daughters, Debra, Darla (Tom) Goulette, Deann Crain (Ed Cernohous); grandchildren, Stacia (Layne) Hetrick, Nathan Goulette, Shana Crain (Marshall Castano), Ross Crain, Kyle Crain, Shelby Ducklow; great-grandchildren Alexis, Peyton, Rosalyn; brothers Wayne (Mary Jo), Tom (Connie), Roger (Peggy); sisters, Janet (Michael) Crowell, Wanda (Victor) Strobush, Angela Ducklow (Michael Kopesky); many nieces and nephews; a countless number of friends; and his puppies, Brandy and Daisy. His memory will live on in our lives forever. Please join us in a celebration of his life at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 16, with visitation from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at the First Congregational Church in River Falls. The remains of Ralph and Joan will be buried together at 9 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood cemetery per their wishes.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Charlie MartinRogers and family (Nicole and Nova); daughter, Alana Deranek and family (John, Beverly, and Leo); father Merle Rogers, and sisters Sara (Louis Kuhry), Tessie (Clint Smith), and Elizabeth (Walter Kading). He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Rogers. Memorial gathering at Vergas Community Center on Saturday, 3/16/2013 at 2:00 PM.

Age 61 of St. Paul. One of those who Midas touched. She walked this life with grace and courage. Serene in the surety of her journeys final destination. She "lives" in our hearts forever. "Turn your heavenly clocks back ten minutes big guy." Survived by siblings, Glendon, Bill, Dottie, Val (Dave) Johnson; and many loving relatives and friends. Preceded by her parents, Glen and Florence; and Frank Foltz. Vicki was a long-time owner/operator of Open Hands on St. Clair Ave in St. Paul. Memorials will be used for the Church of the Open Door Haiti Fund. Interment at Oakland cemetery, Marine on St. Croix, MN. Funeral service will be held on Tue., March 12, 11AM at North Heights Lutheran Church, 2701 Rice St., Roseville, MN, with a gathering one hour prior to the service at church. A heartfelt thanks to HealthEast Hospice, the Affirming Life Group, and Dr. Petryk and his staff.

Age 88 of Arden Hills, originally of Amery, WI. Loving and supportive mother and grandmother, exceptional cook and gardener, and avid angler, peacefully departed this life at the age of 88 on Mon. March 4, 2013. Born in Amery, WI, the third of 8 children, she is survived by her children, Pamela and Michael; grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew and wife Rona, and Michael and partner Tim; 3 siblings, Roy, Mary Anne and Eva. Dorothy will be remembered for the unconditional love and support she provided for her family, and for her quiet strength and independent spirit. Never one to sit still - following her retirement from Honeywell in 1988 - she continued to enjoy walking, bicycling, golfing, cross country skiing and canoeing. Aside from her farm in Wisconsin, The Raptor Center and the Como Park Arboretum were two of her favorite places. She ushered for Prairie Home Companion, volunteered at the Shoreview Community Center, and delivered Meals on Wheels. Dorothy enjoyed time with friends and cherished her gourmet group of four, which met for 30 years to share food, music and theatre. She loved birds - especially loons, cardinals and eagles - and always kept her feeders full. She was an amazing cook and had perfected art with chocolates, much to her family's delight. She will always be loved and greatly missed. A celebration of her life will take place in Amery on the occasion of her 89th birthday in August 2013, details to be announced.

Age 69 of Maplewood. Passed from a long bout with cancer. A beloved, bright, sympathetic person whose direct style and great sense of humor secured her a place as, her sister Wanda put it, "the rock of the family." Survived by son, Michael Allemani; siblings, Gordon and Dave Cran, Wanda Kleschult, Delight Oberg and Chris Karlstad. Also survived by "daughter/grandson" Amy/Eben Robideaux. Schneider, Richard Charles "Duke"

Age 78 of Oakdale, MN (formerly of West St. Paul) Duke passed away peacefully March 1st, 2013 from complications of esophageal cancer while surrounded by family. preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyrene, siblings Louie, and Virginia. He is survived by daughters Cookie (Jerry) Heroff, Judy James and Mari Schneider. He was a wonderful grandpa and great-grandpa. Grandchildren: Jerry Heroff (Lisa), Michelle Plautz (Arthur), Jeff Heroff (Melisa) and Stephanie Volna (Andrew). Great-grandchildren: Aubrielle, Josh and Jake Heroff; Emilee, Isabelle, Sophia and Ava Plautz; Jada and Elena Heroff; Max, Ulysses and Zoe Volna. Duke was born and raised in West St. Paul and attended Humboldt High School, where he excelled at hockey (State and Regional Champions 1951- 1953). He played football and was honored to be inducted into the Humboldt Hall of Fame. Duke was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. He was an active member of the YMCA for over 25 years, where he had many friends. Duke enjoyed boating on the St. Croix River, fishing at Mille Lacs, salmon fishing in Alaska and spending time with his family. He was loved dearly and will be in our hearts forever. Mass of Christian burial Wednesday, March 6th at 11 a.m. Visitation 1 hour prior at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 490 Hall Ave., St. Paul, MN 55107. Luncheon to follow.
