Kalevik, Edith Mione (nee Lohn)

Age 88 of New London, MN. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 1st at Gausdal Lutheran Church in rural New London where she was a life long member. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Edith died Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 at Rice Memorial Hospital. Edith was born September 7th, 1925 in Georgeville, MN at her home, the daughter of Simon and Olga (Simonson) Lohn. On March 12, 1949, Edith was united in marriage to Erwin Kalevik at their home in New London. She was a homemaker, and worked at the Big Store and Erv's TV in New London. Hobbies included softball, gardening, fishing and bowling. She was also an avid baseball fan and a cat lover. Edith was survived by her children, Greg (Denise) Kalevik of Deerwood, and Jean Kalevik of New London; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Emma, Braden, Morgan and Lydia Kalevik of New London, Todd (Nicole) Jenna, Rachel Kalevik of Otsego,MN; Tracy, Kalie, Asher Jeremiason of Brainerd, MN; Ben (Nicole) Owen, Aaron, Jonas, Kayla Kalevik of Ozark, MO; and brother, Sidney (Adeline) Lohn. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and three brothers.

Age 54 of Brooklyn Center, MN. Survived by wife of 33 years; Rozalinda; Children, Kristi (Ron), Jennie (Jonny), and Carl; grandchildren, Robert, Weston, and Lincoln; mother, Wanda; mother-in-law, Rose; sisters, Janet (David) and Joanna; sister-in-law, Rosemary (Chris); nephews, David, Brandon, and CJ; nieces, Alyssa and Brianna; and by John H., who was a brother from another mother. Predeceased by father, John and father-in-law, Steve. As a Captain in the Army, David was 3rd generation military and served his country proudly. That honor of service continued on through Scouting. His scouting accomplishments include Eagle Scout, OA Vigil, Scoutmaster and most recently he was very proud of what he accomplished as District Commissioner for the Northern Lights district. A celebration of David's life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 15th, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West hotel (3131 Campus Dr. Plymouth, MN. 55441). In lieu of flowers donations can be made in David's name at Wells Fargo banks, the account number is 7984669189 (or brought to the service). All donations will go towards creating a disc golf course in his name at Rum River Scout Camp in Ramsey, MN. David will have Military Honors at Ft Snelling later this spring.

Eric is survived by his mother, Dalene (Pat); father, Dennis (Char); wife, Rachel; sister, Tina (Don); brother, Gary (Mahesh); in-laws, Wayne (Deb), Tim (Michelle), Rita (Jake); several nieces and nephews, including Anna, Carson, Charlie, Clara, and Harlow; his pets; and a multitude of family and friends. Eric will be sadly missed for his enormous sense of humor, passion for animals, kind and generous spirit, and love for family.

Age 45 of Stillwater, MN. passed away peacefully after a battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She was predeceased by her brother, David Winter. She is survived by her husband of nearly 19 years, Dave, and daughter, Adia, parents Dr. Robert and Jane Winter, sisters Cathy Winter (Gerry Dehkes), and Dr. Sarah Winter Boyer (Mike Boyer), brother Andrew Winter (Emily Winter), and sister-in-law Terry Winter. She was adored by her many nieces and nephews—Olivia, Abby, Peter, Kirsten, Sarah, Erik, Alec, Lucas, Dena, Evan, Caleb and Noel. Karin graduated from Henry Sibley High School, West St. Paul and the University of Minnesota. She worked in various medical and insurance positions, most recently at Student Assurance Services, Stillwater. Karin's love was her family, especially her daughter. She enjoyed her dogs, long walks, time with her friends and cherished summertime at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin. Her culinary skills were widely appreciated by her large family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love her. Visitation will be on Friday, February 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11 a.m. Both will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater, 6201 Osgood Avenue North, Stillwater, MN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward further education for Adia (Adia Jones donation trust at Wells Fargo Bank) or to the University of Minnesota Foundation (Dr. Bruce Peterson's Lymphoma Research Fund, Med292 Q12636).

Link, Brien Joseph Age 59, passed away peacefully at home on 2/20/14 after a 3-year cancer journey. A lifelong Minneapolis resident, born to Ralph Link and Sharon O'Brien Link on 2/15/55, Brien graduated from Southwest High School and the U of MN. He was a longtime union steward with GCIU and a trade union activist. Brien cared deeply about workers rights, social justice and the environment. He worked as a paralegal at Ameriprise Financial for 18 years. Brien enjoyed biking the urban trails, playing Celtic music on his mandolin, attending concerts and spending time with family & friends. preceded in death by father, Ralph; and Welsh terrier, Dewey. Survived by Milissa, loving wife of 25 years; son, Benjamin Quinn (Elisabeth Arnold); mother, Sharon; brother, Barry (Penny); sister, Shannon Stover (Dan); aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews; and Irish terrier, Finbarr Magee. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Karen; children, Bob (Patti), Edie, Lisa (Steve) Gilberg, Yvonne, Denise (Jerry) Gilbert; 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 27th, at noon, St. Luke Lutheran Church, 7000 Hinton Ave. S, Cottage Grove, MN and the visitation begins at 10am. Memorials preferred.
Wagner, Donald Joseph

Age 83 of Marine on St. Croix, MN. Don grew up in St. Paul, the son of James G. and Lola G. Wagner. Attended Groveland Elementary and Monroe High School and graduated from the University of Minnesota with degrees in recreation and elementary education. Don met his wife, Mary, at the U of M, and they married
on June 18, 1955. Don held a wide variety of jobs during his youth: soda jerk, groundskeeper, dynamiter’s assistant, caller and dance instructor. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He taught at Sidney Pratt Elementary School in Minneapolis. In 1959 he was hired by the Robbinsdale School District as an elementary school teacher. He then became an instructional assistant and in 1963, an elementary school principal. From1963 to1983, he served as principal at Lincoln, Thorson, New Hope, Lee, Zachery Lane and Meadow Lake schools and as director of elementary education from 1983 to 1991. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Don was a consummate teacher who touched many lives. preceded in death by his brothers, John Lincoln Wagner and James Gilbreath Wagner. Survived by wife, Mary, sons, Todd (Meredith McNab), Pete (Anh Nguyen), Kent (Holly), Karl (Mary Alice) and grandchildren, Austin, Cullen, Kane, Kash, Kai, Kirby, Noel, T.C. and Molly. It is Don’s request there be no memorial service. Instead of memorials, Don asks each of his friends to perform a kind act or lend a helping hand to someone. Don’s family wishes to express profound gratitude to all who have been a part of his life, as you gave his life joy and meaning.

Her kindness, gentle spirit, and wonderful sense of humor will always be remembered. Debbie in recent months rededicated herself to salvation through Jesus Christ.
