Age 39 of Coon Rapids, passed on September 22nd surrounded by family and friends in the comfort of her own home. She is survived by husband Tony, sons Carter, Joshua and Zachary, parents Pete and Lisa Gravett, John and Gayle Acker, grandparents Joyce Thielen, Howard and Suzanne Squires, sister-in-law Jen (Brian) Bergstrom, brothers-in-law Ryan (Laurie) and Nick (Andrea). Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, the Hope Church family and friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents Joan and Des Gravett. We would like to thank her medical team specifically Dr. Keith Bible at Mayo Clinic, the Heartland hospice team as well as the Angel Foundation and Hope Lodge (Rochester) that stood by Lynn and her family in countless ways. Funeral services will be at Hope Church, 1264 109th Street, Blaine, MN on October 24th. Visitation 9:00-11:00 am. Service 11:00 am. Fellowship to follow service. Attendees are encouraged to wear something purple in honor of Lynn. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Lynn Gravett Acker family.

Brunsting, Marlys Ann
September 27, 1959 - September 22, 2015
Age 55 of Woodbury, passed away on September 22, 2015 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Marlys was born in Sioux Falls, SD, but moved to Cedar Rapids, IA, at a young age. She attended The University of Iowa where she took up fencing, met her husband, and received her Bachelor's with a double major in Economics and Applied Mathematics. She worked for a number of years at The University of Iowa before returning to school and receiving her Master's degree in Library and Information Science. She and her family then moved to Green Bay, where she worked as the Coordinator of Library Automation at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. In 2013, Marlys accepted the position of Library Director and Campus Copyright Officer at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She retired in September of 2015, and was honored by being named Director Emeritus in recognition of the significant positive impact she had in the two short years she was there. Marlys loved scrapbooking, playing the piano, reading, going for walks, travelling (but only for short periods at a time), and quilting. She even tolerated golfing with her husband. But most of all, Marlys cherished spending quality time with family and friends. Marlys is survived by her husband, Larry Segriff, two daughters, Megan Reyes and Caitlin Collins, their spouses, Christopher Reyes and Katie Collins, her father, Edward Brunsting, three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. Henry Street, Green Bay, WI, with visitation from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. The service will be at 11:00, with a luncheon to follow. The family requests donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in lieu of flowers. The family would also like to express their deep appreciation to the nurses and staff at St. Croix Hospice, who brought great comfort in an unimaginably difficult time. Matson, Robert "Bob" Thomas
December 17, 1943 - September 21, 2015
Age 71 of Burnsville. Survived by wife of 24 years, Melody Lynn Matson of Burnsville; son, Thomas Matson (and family) of Oregon; daughters, Kim Brendon (Bruce) of Rothsay, MN and Theresa Bushek (John); 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and 1 great grandson; sisters, Debbie Bauer and Pam; and brother, Steven (Mary Beth). Bob retired from Toro in 2008 after 43 years working as a machinist. He served the US Army for 6 years from 1961-1967. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed cowboy shooting and belonged to the Old West Shooting Society in Wisconsin. He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He married his sweetheart, Melody, at the St. Paul Temple on April 22, 2015 for time and all eternity. He is preceded in death by parents, Merlin and Rose Matson; brother, Richard; and sisters, Mary and Paulette. Services on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, 7 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 651 Southcross Dr. E, Burnsville, MN 55306.

Jim had a long career as a Sales Rep in the Clothing Industry. Jim and Cindy were loved by many and will be greatly missed! Haney, Steven Ellis

Age 59 of Bloomington, passed away suddenly from a pulmonary embolism on September 16, 2015 at 59. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Monica Matos; daughter, Rachel Anderson; teen son, Joshua Haney; brother, Warren Haney of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Janine (Jeff) Russell-Hodes, and many beloved family and friends. Steve was most proud of his children, as well as his service as a football coach and, more recently, as a spiritual mentor. What Steve learned from these two worlds is that true power has nothing to do with physical braun but is found in expressing an open and vulnerable heart. Steve's life will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2-5 pm at Unity Church, Golden Valley. Due to surgery complications, he did not qualify for life insurance. Age 72 of Zimmerman, MN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 16, 2015. He worked for Hyman Freightways for 32 years. Jerome will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; children, Danny, Melissa Kirkevold, Carey Robinson, Minda (Keith) Pecholt; 7 grandchildren & a great grandchild; brother, Donald; many loving family members & friends. Preceded by his parents, Jerome & Esther; son, Ronnie; and step-son, Richard Schwitzky. Memorial will be held Wednesday 9/23, 11AM at Faith Community Lutheran, 12266-255th Ave, Zimmerman, with a gathering at 10AM.

Age 57 of White Bear Lake passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 of complications of the heart. preceded in death by her husband Thomas Sullivan, and her brother Joel Brandt. Survived by her parents Gene and Dorothy Brandt, her loving daughters Megan (Josh) Olinger and Emily (Nick) Nixon, 3 handsome grandchildren, Isaiah, Isaac and Noah. Her sister Jeanine, and brothers Jeff and Bill. Many nieces and nephews and friends. Patty is remembered as a sweet, kind woman of deep unwavering faith, and her caring, gentle spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 18 - 6:30 p.m. at the White Bear Lake Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 2595 Buffalo Street. Age 96 of North Oaks and Grand Marais Died September 14, 2015 preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters, and Marian, his wife of 68 years. He was known for his unapologetic optimism and mastery of impossible tasks. Though born to a lumbering family in Grand Marais, an allergy to pine and cedar, a decided industry disadvantage, caused him to begin his career in the telecommunications business. He retired from NW Bell Telephone as a senior executive in 1981. During WWII he served in Army Intelligence where he developed unique code breaking equipment. After retirement he began domesticated wild rice farming and, in conjunction with the U of MN, a strain of wild rice was developed and named after him. He and Marian traveled widely and made friends from around the world. Art and Marian opened their hearts and homes to students from Germany and Russia, who then became part of our family. He was passionate about helping others. He was active in Boy Scouting and was instrumental in the development and expansion of Tomahawk Scout Reservation. He was member and past president of North Suburban Golden K Kiwanis Club. Art was the oldest past master of Garnet Lodge #166, AF&AM. Art is survived by daughter Diane Wesman (Eric), grandson Christopher Wesman (Sarah), granddaughter Jennifer Wesman Esnough (DeWayne), great-grandsons Miles Wesman and Eric Esnough, son Dean (Sandy Jacobsen), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and a loving golden retriever. Memorial service to be held at Waverly Gardens, 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks on Monday September 21 at 2PM. Interment at the Maple Hill cemetery in Grand Marais in October. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Kiwanis Club of North Suburban Golden K; Boy Scouts of America, Northern Star Council; or Animal Humane Society, Golden Valley. Mike will be missed by his wife, Marilyn, of 54 years; son, Jeff; daughter, Karen (Pat) Shrake; and his boating friends. Mike was a Process Engineer at Pillsbury for 28 years and a member of the Kaiser Fraser and ACD Auto Clubs. Mass at 11AM on Friday, Sept. 18 at St. Stanislaus Church, 398 Superior St., St. Paul with a visitation one hour prior. Donations to Nature Conservancy.

Davis, Donald Eugene
June 17, 1950 - September 13, 2015
Age 65 of Brooklyn Park, entered the kingdom of Heaven on September 12, 2015 where he is, no doubt, rejoicing in the presence of his Lord, Christ Jesus. He is home! Don accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on April 6, 1985, and from that day forward he walked in unwavering faith despite facing many personal and medical challenges. He was devoted to his church, Living Word Christian Center, in Brooklyn Park, and his church family; Pastors Mac Hammond, DuWayne Peterson, and David Niznik; prayer partner, Erik Vakula; Rick Linde, Richard Quan, and other members of his usher team; members of his prayer group led by Jim Whalen; and many others over past 30 years. He would like to thank each and every person for their unfailing friendship. In Don's words "God bless you for accepting me, challenging me when I needed it, and supporting me through the good times and the bad". Don worked as custodian at Minnesota Rubber for 29.5 years before retiring 15 years ago due to his poor health. During his retirement, Don enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, the Packers and the Twins, fishing, attending church functions, and most of all, going out to lunch or dinner with his family and friends. Those who went before Don; his parents George & Marilyn Davis, his stillborn brother, his nephew Alan LePage, his cherished paternal grandparents, Roy & Virgie Davis, his uncle Bob Kuhn, his maternal grandparents, Ernie & Clara Horn, and his friend and mentor, Len Gravell, were there to welcome him home. Don is survived by his sister Peggy (Jeff) LePage, his nephews Scott (Jeanne) and Clint (Kim), and great nephews/nieces Jacob, Jordan, Cassie, & Bailey; several loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends. Don would like to thank Dr. Jonathan Ray and Nicole Carlson P.A. for their excellent care over the years and the Methodist Hospice staff with an extra special thank you to Kathy Dery RN & Mary Vorpahl MSW for their support. He credited you for helping him to live out all his earthly days as full as they could be. God Bless you and the work you do. A celebration of Donnie's life will occur on Thursday, September 24 at Living Word Christian Center, Visitation from 10-11, Service at 11, followed by lunch. Seim, Dr. Harold Charles

Age 75, of Stillwater and Sun City, AZ Died Saturday, September 12, 2015 of pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in Rochester, Minn., on May 7, 1940, to Harry and Emma Seim. He was raised and graduated high school in Spring Valley, Minn. Hal possessed a deep love of learning and earned degrees in hospital pharmacy, family medicine and public health from the University of Minnesota. He practiced family medicine in Stillwater, Robbinsdale and Maple Grove, and served on the faculty at the University of Minnesota Medical School for nearly 20 years. Hal also specialized in bariatrics and owned Medical Weight Management Centers in the Twin Cities. Hal was active in family medicine organizations and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. As continuing education director for ASBP, he planned 2-3 meetings per year for 23 years. Hal was also active in church activities and sang in church choirs in Minnesota and Arizona. Hal was generous, hard-working and always quick to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and others who needed help. We will miss his humor, loving nature, caring ways, honesty and his can-do and will-do attitude. Hal is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Emma Seim. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; daughter Amy Seim (Diego de la Riva) of Hartford, CT; and step-children Teri Collaro (Anthony) of Naperville, IL; Kirk (Suzanne) of Maple Grove; and Amy Zastrow (Eric) of Stillwater; grandchildren Andrew Bailey, Ryan Zastrow and Leo Olson; cousins and many friends. Special thanks to Dr. Trost, nurse Amy H. and Denise of Sante Hospice (Sun City); Dr. B, nurses Jan and Sara of Lakeview Hospice (Stillwater); and the nursing team at The Gathering Hospice (Stillwater) for their special care. Celebration of life will be at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi. MN on Sunday, September 20, 2015 visitation at 2 p.m. and memorial service at 3 p.m. Interment at a later date at Fairview cemetery in Stillwater. Another memorial service will be held at American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ, in the fall. Memorials preferred to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, American Lutheran Church or the George J. Knudson Scholarship at Augsburg College.
