Gladys Aubuchon

WARROAD, Minn. -- Gladys Aubuchon, 88, Warroad died May 23, 2000.

Gladys Paulina Wahlberg was born May 4, 1912, the daughter of John and Kristina (Loff) Wahlberg in Warroad, where she graduated from high school. She served in the U.S. Navy in the WAVES for 1 1/2 years. She married Joe Aubuchon on Jan. 2, 1949, in California. She lived in Arcadia, Calif., until 1974, when she returned to Warroad. Joe Aubuchon died in 1972. In 1998, she returned to California, where she lived with her daughter.

She is survived by a son, Joe (Diane), Huntington Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Joyce (William) Schulte, Fallbrook, Calif.; two grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Tomoko, Honolulu, Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by a son, John; sisters, Mabel Wahlberg, Ellen Norquist, Lillian Roberts, Anne Johnston, Huldah Wahlberg, Clara Smith; and a brother, Carl Wahlberg.

Services: 10: 30 a.m. Thursday, Zion Lutheran Church, Warroad.

Burial: Riverside cemetery, Warroad (Helgeson, Warroad).

Elaine Puffe

FISHER, Minn. -- Elaine E. Puffe, 74, Mandan, N.D., formerly of Fisher, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, in a Mandan Hospital.

Elaine E. Radi was born Feb. 26, 1926, the daughter of Martin and Emelia (Ross) Radi, in Fisher. She married Esthel Puffe on June 19, 1948. They lived in the Fisher-Crookston area until 1955, when they moved to Bismarck. She graduated from Moorhead State University in 1980 with a degree in social work. She worked in Fargo with developmentally disabled people. She moved to Carson, N.D., where she worked for Grant County Social Services until December 1993.

She is survived by sons, Paul (Eleanor), Austin, Texas, and Joel (Kathy), Bismarck; a daughter, Cheryl Hickel, Klamath Falls, Ore.; nine grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Messiah Lutheran Church, Mandan.

Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. today, Bismarck Funeral Home, and one hour before services in the church.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Harry Jensen

ROSEAU, Minn. -- Harry Jensen, 91, Roseau, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, in the Roseau Area Hospital.

Harry Battling Jensen was born Sept. 20, 1908, the son of Timan and Mina (Sundby) Jensen, in Roseau, where he attended school and worked on the family farm. He worked in the Red River area as a carpenter for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. In June 1936, he purchased the family farm in Jadis Township, Roseau County. He married Audrey Helstad on Nov. 23, 1926, in Roseau.

He is survived by his wife; children, Charlotte (Ray) Lorenson, Grand Rapids, Minn., Richard (Mary), East Pembroke, N.Y., and Marjory (Jim) Sadler, Wayzata, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Hazel (Alfred) Smedsmoe and Myrtle Pollestad, both of Roseau.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Willie, Roy and Carl; and sisters, Irene, Selma and Clara.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Rose Free Lutheran Church, Roseau.

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with an 8 p.m. family service, Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau.

Burial: Moe-Rose cemetery, Roseau.

Mildred Aanenson

HALSTAD, Minn. -- Mildred Aanenson, 92, Halstad, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, in Halstad Lutheran Memorial Home, where she had lived since 1989.

Mildred Charlotte Tronnes was born June 29, 1907, the daughter of Alfred and Sena (Hanson) Tronnes, in Shelly, Minn., where she attended school. She worked at home for her parents. She married Arnold Aanenson on Nov. 21, 1928, in Nielsville, Minn. They lived in Shelly until moving in 1932 to Halstad, where they farmed. Arnold Aanenson died Feb. 14, 1980.

She is survived by a son, Marlyn (Beverly), Fargo; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Audrey), Shelly; and sisters, Alice Malme, Halstad, and Thelma Hanson, Shelly.

She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis; and a brother, Harvey.

Services: 2 p.m. today, Halstad Lutheran Church.

Visitation: One hour before services in the church.

Burial: St. Petri cemetery, Nielsville (Fredrikson Valley, Halstad).

Jeanette Derosier

RED LAKE FALLS, Minn. -- Jeanette Derosier, 61, Red Lake Falls, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at home.

Jeanette Ann Riel was born April 6, 1939, the daughter of Earl and Laura (Reopelle) Riel, in Brooks, Minn., where she attended school. She moved to Red Lake Falls, where she graduated from high school in 1958. She married Harold Derosier on Aug. 30, 1958, in Terrebonne, Minn. They lived and farmed on the Derosier family farm.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Allen (Wendy), Highland, Calif., and Randy (Sandy) and Kevin, both of Red Lake Falls; eight grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce (Richard) Carlson, Cloquet, Minn., Theresa Anderson, Cloquet, Minn., Carol (Edward) Christian, Barnum, Minn., and Annette (Lindy) Christian, Cloquet, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roger; and an infant sister.

Services: 10: 30 a.m. Saturday, St. Anthony Catholic Church, Terrebonne.

Visitation: After 7 p.m. today, with an 8 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services all in the church.

Burial: St. Anthony Church cemetery (Petterson, Red Lake Falls).

Theresa A. Kostrzewski

FLORIAN, Minn. -- Theresa A. Kostrzewski, 59, Florian, died Friday, July 7, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Theresa Argetine Grembowski was born March 24, 1941, the daughter of Stanley and Veronica (Marnik) Grembowski, in Big Woods Township, Marshall County, Minn., where she attended school. She married Raymond Kostrzewski on Dec. 19, 1962, in Greenbush, Minn. They lived and farmed in Wanger Township, Marshall County, Minn.

She is survived by her husband, Florian; a daughter, Irene (Ronald) Johnson, Lake Bronson, Minn.; two grandchildren; a sister, Virginia (Melvin) Sibertson, Fargo; and a brother, Alphonse (Geri), Ely, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Irene; and brothers, Frank and Joseph.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Assumption Catholic Church, Florian.

Visitation: After 6 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services, all in the church.

Burial: Assumption Church cemetery (Collins, Karlstad, Minn.).

Orville Diesen

ROSEAU, Minn. -- Orville Diesen, 76, Roseau, died Thursday, July 6, 2000.

Orville Porter Diesen was born June 15, 1924, the son of Gustav and Bertha (Olson) Diesen, in Skime, Minn. He joined the Army on April 12, 1945 and was discharged in November 1946. He married Violet Moe on Oct. 1, 1950, in Wannaska, Minn. They lived in Skime. He worked on several logging and wood operations in the winter and farmed in the summer. He was employed by Polaris and Grygla Co-op Store. He started the Greenhill Nursery, Skime. They bought Wenner's Greenhouse, Roseau, in 1989. They moved to Roseau in 1990. He was currently employed by Polaris and several area farmers.

He is survived by his wife; son, Orlin (Sharon), Skime; a daughter, Debra (Dennis) Wiskow, Greenbush, Minn.; six grandchildren; a sister, Selma Rigstad (Linn), Greenbush; and brothers, Walter, Skime, Gordon (Sylvia), Albuquerque, N.M., Roger (Judy), Crookston, and Don (Nancy), Richfield, Minn.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Allan; and a sister, Georgia.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Moe Lutheran Church, Roseau.

Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a 7: 30 p.m. family service, Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau, and one hour before services in the church.

Military rites: Roseau Memorial Honor Guard.
