HERBERT PEDERSON, 70, of Worthington, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at Sioux Valley Hospital and University Medical Center, Sioux Falls, S.D.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. today at the American Lutheran Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Arlen Foss officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Benson Funeral Home, Worthington, is in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests memorials to the Minnesota Lions Eye Bank, American Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund or the American Heart Association.

THE REV. LLOYD JOHNSON, 77, of Jackson, Mich., died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Countryside Care Center, Jackson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Wetherby Funeral Home, Jackson.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ganson Street Baptist Church, Jackson, with the Rev. Don Deaver officiating. A private burial will be in Roseland Memorial Gardens.

Memorials are requested to Ganson Street Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

WILFRID FRITZ, 84, of Lismore, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Luverne Community Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7:30 p.m., and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lismore.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lismore. Burial will be in the church cemetery west of Lismore.

Dingmann Funeral Home, Adrian, is in charge of arrangements.

AUGUST KUNKEL, 76, of Mountain Lake, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at St. James Health Services Hospital, St. James.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday at Bjerum Funeral Home, Mountain Lake, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mountain Lake.

The service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mountain Lake, with the Rev. Robert Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Mountain Lake Cemetery.

ARTHUR MANWARREN, 81, of Walnut Grove, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Tracy Area Medical Services, Tracy.

Arrangements are pending with Almlie Funeral Home, Westbrook.

David Walsh, 50, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Webb, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in Sidney, Neb.

Surviving is his father, Vernon (Verlene) Walsh, Lakefield; a brother, Phil (Sharon) Walsh, Des Moines, Iowa; and two sisters, Cindy (John) Wetz, Columbia, Miss., and Nancy Walsh, Duluth.

The visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Webb.

The service will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery, Webb.

Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Jane Woitalewcz, 18, of Fulda, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at her home in Fulda.

Surviving are her parents, Mark and Amy Woitalewcz; two brothers, Stephen Woitalewcz, Minneapolis; Sam Woitalewcz, Marshall; grandparents, Dwayne and Beth Westra, Fulda, and Shirley Woitalewcz, New Hope.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Totzke Funeral Home, Fulda, and also from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at First Reformed Church, Slayton.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed Church, Slayton. Burial will be in Prairie Hill Cemetery, Fulda.

Darwin L. Vosberg, 72, of Dovray, died Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the Avera Heart Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Surviving is his wife, Alice Vosberg, Dovray; three children, Greg (Laurie) Vosberg, Tracy, Dean (Theresa) Vosberg, Princeton, and Rhonda (Tracy) Busswitz, Rosemount; three sisters, LaVonne (Len) Dugan, Forest Grove, Ore., Beverly (Al) Kerr, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Barbara (Lloyd) Goltz, Walnut Grove; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church, Westbrook, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Dovray.

Arrangements are under the care of Almlie Funeral Home, Westbrook.

Robert Jerome Koster, 74, was born on April 4, 1935 in Brewster, MN. He was the son of Fred and Rosella (McCarvel) Koster. Robert attended school in Brewster and graduated from Brewster High School in 1953. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. After leaving the service, Bob pursued a career as a carpenter, which he did for over 45 years. He built many homes in southwest MN and northwest Iowa.

Robert married Rita Mae (Liepold) on April 15, 1961 and were married close to 48 years. They made their home in the Brewster area where they resided all their lives.

Over the past few years, you would find Bob working at the Brewster Lumber Co, where he was still able to give his friends a hard time. Bob enjoyed gardening, camping, and fishing and was known for his incredible flower garden. Bob mostly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as he visited them throughout the year. Robert was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. Bob died on Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, MN after battling lung cancer since April 2009.

Robert is survived by his four children, Thomas (Paula) Koster, of Onalaska, WI, Daniel (Marlene) Koster, of Minnetonka, MN, Maria (Rick) Regner, of Napoleon, ND, and Laura Jean (Steve) Herfurth, of Montevideo, MN; ten grandchildren, Allison, Paul Thomas, and Cierra Koster, Benjamin and Natalie Koster, Brittany, Brianna and Megan Regner, and John and Preston Herfurth; his brother, Fritz (Mattie) Koster, of Melba, ID; his mother-in-law, Agatha Liepold, of Heron Lake, MN; his sister-in-law, Fidelis (Cletus) Freking, of Heron Lake, MN; cousin Sandy (Richard) Thompson, of Lakefield, MN, and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Mae, his parents, and infant daughters, Bonnie Jean and Sarah.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster, Minnesota, with Father Charles Quinn officiating. Casket bearers will be Steve McNab, Steve Neumann, Randy Thompson, Troy Thompson, Alan Freking, and Jake Smith. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Brewster.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, from 5-7 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster.

Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.

Harold Braun, 83, of Rock Rapids, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at his home.

Surviving are his wife, Luetta “Lou” Braun, Rock Rapids; three children, Doug (Lari) Braun, Chandler, Ariz., Peggy Feltman, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Jean (Bub) Vande Weerd, Rock Rapids; one brother, Ray (Joan) Braun, George, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Jurrens Funeral Home, Rock Rapids.

The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Rock Rapids, with the Rev. Anita Bane and the Rev. Clifford Hoekstra officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Rock Rapids.

Ray Alexander, age 81 of Sibley, Iowa died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at his home in Sibley.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 3rd, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Sibley with Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Sunday August 2nd from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Sibley. The Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley is in charge of arrangements.

Ray Lindy Alexander was born October 10, 1927 in Ashton, Iowa to Emerson and Freda (Winkle) Alexander. He was raised and educated in the Ashton area. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a mailman 3rd class. On March 4, 1949 he was united in marriage to Darlene Brody at the Salem Evangelical Brethren Church in Allendorf, IA. To this union four children were born. He and Darlene made their home on a farm on Hwy. 59 north of Allendorf from 1949 to 1995. In 1998 Darlene passed away ending their marriage of 49 years. Ray was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sibley, IA. He was a member of the Sibley VFW. He loved attending school and 4-H activities of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda (Dave) Hansen of New Ulm, MN; sons, Doug (Helen) Alexander of Arnolds Park, IA, Robert (Shan) Alexander of Sibley, IA, and Paul (Pam) Alexander of Sibley, IA; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brother Gene Alexander of Yankton, SD; Sister Ruth Dwyer of Hollywood, CA; in-laws, Joycelyn Deaver of Cedar Falls, IA; Don (Maxine) Brody of Bigelow, MN; Bobbie (Dennis) Truckenmiller of Sibley, IA.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Freda Alexander; his wife Darlene; brothers-in-law Leonard Deaver and Bill Dwyer; sister-in-law, Marlys Alexander; parents-in-law, Gordon and Clara (Moar) Brody.
