BRACKETT

Charles Ray "Chuck" Brackett, 55, Camdenton, died Sept. 3, 1999, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kan.

He was born Sept. 17, 1943, in Gary, Indiana, a son of Charles W. and Marian V. Cloyd Brackett. His mother survives in Camdenton.

He was married June 2, 1989, to Carol S. Underwood, who survives at the home.

He had moved to Camdenton on March 31, after retiring from a 30-year sales career with National Steel in Overland Park and in Osceola, Ind. He was a Navy veteran.

Other survivors include: one brother, Dennis E. Brackett, Camdenton; and one sister, Janet G. Backe, Hanna, Ind.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie-Sunrise Beach Chapel in Laurie. Dick Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in the Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery, Laurie.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

SWEANEY

Jessie I. Sweaney, 70,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 4, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 10, 1928, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Homer and Hazel James Maddox.

She was married March 9, 1947, at  Jefferson City, to Ralph Sam Sweaney, who survives at the home.

She was a life-long resident of the  Jefferson City area and a  Jefferson City High School graduate. She was a homemaker, but also worked several years at the International Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Capital West Christian Church.

Other survivors include: two sons, Michael E. Sweaney,  Oklahoma City, and Rusty A. Sweaney,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Linda Morris and Sammie Kirchner, both of  Jefferson City; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Freeman Chapel. The Rev. Ken Harland will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the Capital West Christian Church Building Fund.

VOSS

Herbert H. Voss, 73, Linn, died Sept. 3, 1999, at his home.

He was born Aug. 8, 1926, at Rich Fountain, a son of Henry and Mary "Lena" Reinkemeyer Voss.

He was married April 16, 1966, at Loose Creek to Josephine Rustemeyer, who survives at the home.

He graduated from the Rich Fountain School, and later from a technical college in St. Louis. He was an Army veteran with service during World War II and was a member of V.F.W. Post 4756, the National Farmers Organization, St. George Catholic Church, Linn, and the Knights of Columbus. He had retired this year from Schlueter Co., Linn. Previous jobs included Knoerr's, Linn; Empire Gas; and the City of Linn.

Other survivors include: four sons, Wayne Voss, Eugene Voss and Glen Voss, all of Linn, and Bruce Voss of the home; two daughters, Jeanette Vocks and Brenda Baumhoer, both of Linn; one brother, Henry Voss, Wentzville; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. George Church, Linn. The Rev. Paul Hartley will officiate. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at the St. George Cemetery, Linn.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today.

FISCHER

Delores I. Fischer, 71, Camdenton, died Sept. 4, 1999, at Laurie Care Center, Laurie.

She was born Nov. 16, 1927, in St. Louis, a daughter of Charles and Bertha Haack Stecher. She was married April 28, 1951, to Irwin Otto Fischer Jr., who died April 19, 1998.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Joan Diecidue, Camdenton; two sons, Irwin Otto "Butch" Fischer III and Michael Charles Fischer, both of St. Louis; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

The remains were cremated.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkinsons Association.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

MURRAY

Services were today for Robert E. Murray, 67, Iberia, who died Sept. 5, 1999, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

He was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Waverly, a son of Robert K. and Daisy Ethel Jeffries Murray. He was married June 4, 1953, in Eldon, to Hazel Lorraine Boan, who died Nov. 5, 1981.

A Marine veteran of the Korean War, he worked as a carpenter.

Survivors include: one daughter, Rhonda Murray, Iberia; two sons, Dennis Murray and Robert J. Murray, both of Iberia; one sister, Hazel Hutchinson, Willard; and three grandchildren.

Services were at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Louis Martin officiated. Burial, with military honors, was in New Hope Cemetery, near Kaiser.

THOMPSON

Merl Thompson, 70, Iberia, died Sept. 5, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born Feb. 7, 1929, in Tuscumbia, a son of William and Carmen Hix Thompson. He was married March 11, 1951, in Fulton County, Ark., to Ina M. Keeth, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, he worked in construction in the Midwest. He was a partner in Thompson-Casey Construction Co. and later owned Thompson Construction Co. He also farmed in the Iberia area.

He was a former president of the Iberia School Board and was a Little League coach. He was a member of the Iberia Church of Christ.

Other survivors include: two sons, Phillip Thompson and David Thompson, both of Iberia; one brother, Leon Thompson, O'Fallon; three sisters, Billie Setser and Janice Halderman, both of Eldon, and Linda Birdsong, Stoutland; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Bernie Crum will officiate. Burial will be in Curry Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

PICKELL

M. Beverly Pickell, 86,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 5, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born July 28, 1913, in Paris, Texas , a daughter of John B. and Sara O'Neill Rodgers. She was married March 30, 1937, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Thom-as D. Pickell Sr., who died Dec. 19, 1993.

She spent most of her life in the Kansas City area, moving to  Jefferson City in 1990. She attended junior college and worked as a secretary. A homemaker, she was member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Thomas D. Pickell Jr., Dennison, Texas ; one daughter, Sara L. Robinett,  Jefferson City; two sisters, Louise Adams, Bartlesville, and Sara Hughes, Tulsa, Okla.; two granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Maxwell will officiate. Private graveside services will be held.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church.

ALFORD

Virginia L. Alford, 77, Lake Forest, Calif., died Sept. 5, 1999, in Laguna Hills, Calif.

Arrangements are incomplete at Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland.

DULLE

Justin Matthew Dulle, 19,  Jefferson City, died Sept. 8, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born June 26, 1980, in  Jefferson City, a son of Sidney A. and Della Katherine Houser Dulle. His mother and father survive in  Jefferson City.

A 1999 graduate of  Jefferson City High School, he was active in speech and drama, and Future Business Leaders of America. He currently was attending Linn State Technical College, where he planned to major in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

He was a lifeguard and swimming instructor with the  Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department, and had worked at Washington Park Ice Arena.

Other survivors include: one sister, Natalie Ann Dulle,  Jefferson City; one brother, Nathaniel Allen Dulle,  Jefferson City; paternal grandparents, Harold and Lorraine Dulle,  Jefferson City; and maternal step grandfather and grandmother, Henry and Doris Luecke,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald W. Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

WILSON

The Rev. Dale Wilson, 80, Montreal, died Sept. 5, 1999, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

He was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Montreal, a son of Fountain J. and Orla Albur Casteel Wilson. He was married May 26, 1946, to Rachel M. Netz, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was ordained as a minister at Bannister Southern Baptist Church of Macks Creek in 1972. He pastored several churches, retiring to his family farm in 1985.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jon Dale Wilson, Linn Creek, and Jackie Ray Wilson Sr., Platte City; one daughter, Susan Lynn Moulder, Montreal; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Friday at Union Baptist Church, Decaturville. The Rev. Doug McClure will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Decaturville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.
