Hallie Lee

ELLINGTON -- Hallie Lee, 80, of Excelsior Springs, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Excelsior Springs.

Mrs. Lee was born May 4, 1923, at Alton. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Baptist church. She enjoyed quilting, shopping, going to casinos and spending time with grandchildren.

On May. 29, 1939, she married Coy W. Lee in Alton. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include five daughters, Louise Reeves of Wintrop, Minn., Glenda Yowell of Abilene, Kan., Marie Hewitt of Gailord, Minn., Geneva Adams of Council Groves, Kan., and Dora Negrete of Excelsior Springs; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jim Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Johnson cemetery at Ellington.

Clara Bolin

DONIPHAN -- Clara Blanche Bolin, 82, of Doniphan, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at her residence.

Mrs. Bolin was born Nov. 8, 1920, in Dalton, Ark. She was a member of the First Church of God in Doniphan and a retired accountant.

On May 24, 1941, she married Lee Jennings Bolin in California. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Sam Bolin of Huntsville, Ala., and Dan Bolin of Raytown; two brothers, Norman Curtis White of French Lick, Ind., and Olin Carl White of Scotts Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. today at the First Church of God in Doniphan with Pastor Larry Bashaw officiating. Burial will be in Doniphan cemetery.

Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan is in charge of arrangements.

Helen White

GREENVILLE -- Helen Olivia White, 88, of Greenville, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. White was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Senath. She attended Bethel Baptist Church in Greenville and was a homemaker.

On Nov. 23, 1938, she married David Pearl White. He preceded her in death in June 1989.

Survivors include three sons, James E. White of Festus, Bobby Dale Benton of Farmington and David White of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Glenda Rae Crumrine of Greenville and Charline Mahurin of Fredericktown; one sister, Anna Flo Valentine of Littleton, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lee Roy Foster officiating. Burial will be at George Twidwell cemetery in Silva.

Darius Wooldridge

BERNIE -- Darius Wooldridge, 16, of Bernie, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in Bernie as the result of an automobile accident.

Mr. Wooldridge was born Nov. 25, 1986, in Poplar Bluff. He was a junior at Bernie Senior High School and was active in basketball, baseball, Beta Club and FFA.

Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Sheryl (Craig) Wooldridge of Bernie; two brothers, Shawn Wooldridge of Festus and Chad Wooldridge of Bernie; his grandmothers, Ella Colwell of Imperial, Ann Sanderson of Festus; and his stepgrandfather, Vic Sanderson of Festus.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Bernie High School Gymnasium. Burial will be in Bernie cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bernie Senior High School to be used as a scholarship in Darius' memory.

Ernest Malkowski

PUXICO -- Ernest David Malkowski, 42, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Malkowski was born Nov. 10, 1960, in St. Louis.

Survivors include one son, Ernest David Pennington of St. Louis; two daughters, Tina Pennington and Little Juanita Malkowski, both of St. Louis; his father, Victor Malkowski of Poplar Bluff; his mother, Lorrie Jorgenson of Arlington, Wash.; two brothers, Victor Malkowski and Larry Malkowski, both of St. Louis; two sisters, Lauralei Binns of Hot Springs, Ark., and Juanita Malkowski of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jerry Moore officiating.

Daniel Estes

JACKSON -- Daniel Lee Estes, 55, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in an automobile accident near Pocahontas.

Mr. Estes was born July 19, 1948, in Cape Girardeau. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1966, and immediately joined the U.S. Army to serve in Vietnam. While in Vietnam he received military decorations, including the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his daughter, Wendy O'Kelley, of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren; two brothers, the Rev. Don Estes of St. Marys and Tim Estes of Jackson; three sisters, Diane Vogelsang and Linda Seabaugh of Jackson and Mary Lou Roberts of DeSoto.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Daniel Hale officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights cemetery with a graveside military honors service.

Memorials may be made to the grandchildren's college fund.

Kenneth R. White

MOREHOUSE -- Kenneth Ray White, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Clearview Nursing and Rehab Center in Sikeston.

Mr. White was born Sept. 5, 1929, at Princeton, Ky. He had lived in Morehouse most of his life and was employed as a farm laborer. In 1950, he was married to Francis Milam at New Madrid.

Survivors include his widow; and a brother, Marvin Jackson of Eddyville.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home at Morehouse. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Blodgett cemetery in Blodgett with the Rev. Dolan Rodgers of Sikeston officiating.

Dorothy Dunahoo

FISK -- Dorothy Louella Craven Dunahoo, 70, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at The Cedargate in Poplar Bluff.

A resident of Poplar Bluff the past three years, she was born Oct. 13, 1932, at Canady Switch, close to Steele. Mrs. Dunahoo had lived in the Fisk and Broseley areas most of her life and also formerly lived at Caruthersville. At the time of her death, she attended Bible studies at The Cedargate and formerly attended Liberty Full Gospel Church.

Mrs. Dunahoo had been retired for several years. She formerly owned the Dairy Queen at Caruthersville. Before that, she was assistant credit manager at Montgomery Ward in Poplar Bluff. On Feb. 5, 1949, she married Alvin Reed Dunahoo. He preceded her in death Aug. 12, 1996.

Survivors include a son, Gary Dunahoo of Fisk; six daughters, Gail Templemire of Wappapello, Ginger Via of St. Louis, Sherry Flowers of Bear, Del., Janis Burgin of Jefferson City, Barbara Dye of Caruthersville and Angela Chilton of Camdenton; a sister, Marilyn McCollough of Caruthersville; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. Monday at White-Sanders Funeral Home at Fisk. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Larry Ward will officiate with burial in Mount Zion cemetery at Steele.

Sarah E. Stevens

ELLINGTON -- Sarah E. Stevens, 19, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, as a result of an auto accident at Bunker.

A resident of Corridon, she was born May 14, 1984, at Ellington.

Miss Stevens attended Solid Rock Apostolic Church at Salem. She worked for Missouri Tie and Timber at Reynolds and enjoyed reading, fishing and talking.

Survivors include a brother, Isaac Stevens of Corridon; two sisters, Violet Laramore of Bunker and Samantha Stevens of Pevely; and her parents, Bill and Maude Stevens of Corridon.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McSpadden Funeral Home at Ellington. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Marvin Richards officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Stevens family.

Ossie Emmons

FISK -- Ossie Emmons, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He had been in ill health three years.

Born Aug. 24, 1931, in Clay County, Ark., Mr. Emmons had lived in Butler County most of his life. An Army veteran of the Korean war, he was a farmer and cattleman and loved going to church and listening to music.

Survivors include a son, Rick Emmons of Poplar Bluff; and a granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton with the Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. White-Sanders Funeral Home at Fisk is in charge of arrangements.
