Sister Dorthie Anne Clifton Hall, 92, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010
Sister Dorthie Anne Clifton Hall, 92, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Savannah, Mo., died on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at the Sisters of St. Francis Provincial House in Savannah.
Sister Dorthie Anne was born on April 24, 1918, in Stearns, Ky., to John and Stella (Clifton) Hall.
She graduated Cumberland College in Kentucky and also Western Kentucky University. She taught at Federalsburg High School in Maryland, and was an instructor at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo., before professing her vows with the Sisters of St. Francis first in 1952 and again on July 5, 1980.
Sr. Dorthie Anne (Marianne) was principal and also taught at St. Joseph Academy in Chillicothe, Mo. She was a Professor of English at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and taught from 1978 until 1997 at Donnelly College in Kansas City, Kan.
She enjoyed literature and the written word, Sr. Dorthie Anne was delighted to have had several selections of her poetry published.
She is survived by her sister, Morna Smith of Texas, nieces and nephews, and her sisters in religious community.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and three siblings, Marguerite Sullivan, Juanita Duncan, and David Hall.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at the Provincial House. Burial will be in the Sisters’ cemetery. The Scriptural Wake Service was held Sunday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m. in the Mother Pia Ministry Center at the Provincial House.
Memorials may be left to the Sisters of St. Francis Retirement Fund.

Berndena F. Compton
NEVADA, Mo. — Berndena Faye Compton, 92, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Burial will be in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Kenneth L. Milligan, 70, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010
Kenneth L. Milligan, 70, a resident of rural Carrollton, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010.
He was born July 11, 1940 in Ray County, the son of Leo Grant Milligan and Mary Katherine (Stratton). On March 17, 1989 he married Loretta Pool in Macon, Mo. She survives of the home.
Mr. Milligan was a self-employed farmer. He also enjoyed pitching horse shoes.
He is survived by four sons, Keith Milligan and friend Karen, Norborne, Mo., and Kent Milligan, Norborne, Mo., step-sons, David Burns and wife Cheryl, Stet, Mo., and John Burns, Stet, Mo.; two daughters, Jennifer Carr and husband Jay, Tina, Mo., and Donna Sue Liles and husband Tom, Richmond, Mo.; six brothers, James and Calvin Milligan, Braymer, Mo., Dean and Leon Milligan, Richmond, Mo., and Allen and Wendell Milligan, Hardin, Mo.; one sister, Shirley Bisbee, Richmond, Mo.; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Milligan; one daughter, Kenna Milligan and one sister, Mildred Pollard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Braymer, Mo. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Braymer, Mo. Friends may call on Friday from 12 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Evergreen cemetery, Braymer, Mo. Attendees of the service have been asked by the family to wear casual dress only.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Mercy Hospital and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

Robert E. Reed, 65, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010
Robert Eugene Reed, 65, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 in Chillicothe, Mo.
Robert was born Sept. 18, 1945 in Humphreys, Mo., the son of Elbert and Mary (Owens) Reed. On March 4, 1965 he married Karen Keithley in Chillicothe, Mo. She survives of the home.
He attended Meadville High School.
Robert worked as a forklift operator for Midland Brick Company for almost 44 years. He ran a gun shop for many years and was an avid hunter and shell reloader. He was a collector of many things including baseball cards, quarters, toy tractors, hats and antique razor blades.
He enjoyed doing woodworking projects using old barn boards.
He is survived by three sons, Kenny Reed and Connie, Chillicothe, Mo., Robbie Reed and Cathy, Marshall, Mo., and Gary Reed and Sheila, Laredo, Mo.; brother, Andy Reed and Grace, Gladstone, Mo.; sister, Hazel Kautz, Chillicothe, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jeremy Reed and Abby, Beaufort, S.C., Cody Reed, Marshall, Mo., Brooklyn Reed, Chillicother, Mo., Brandan Reed, Laredo, Mo., and Vinson Moore, Chillicothe, Mo.; and one great-grandchild, Benjamin Reed, Beaufort, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph Reed and nephew Joe Reed.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at 10 a.m. A family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Friday from 12 to 9 p.m. Interment will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Mo.

Marlan F. Kepner, 66, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010
Marlan F. Kepner, 66, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Marlan was born Sept. 18, 1944 in Brookfield, Mo., the son of Francis and Mae (Weber) Kepner. On May 17, 1969 he married Sharon Lea Williams in Marceline, Mo.
He was a 1962 graduate from Northwestern at Mendon, Mo.
Marlan worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Kansas City, Mo., and Dallas, Texas between the years of 1970 and 1992. Marlan enjoyed sports. When he wasn’t listening to a game on the radio or watching a game on television, he was watching his grandkids’ games. At the Boji Stone Cafe, which he and his wife Sharon and son own, everybody knew him as “Pops.”
He is survived by his mother, Edna Mae Kepner, Chillicothe, Mo.; wife, Sharon Kepner, of the home; three sons, Billy and wife Michelle, Chillicothe, Mo., Shane and wife Vicki, Arlington, Texas, Brent and fiancé Lindsay, Rothville, Mo.; one sister, Brenda and husband Kenneth Lauhoff, Chillicothe, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; two great-granchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis; two brothers, Dennis and Eddie Wayne Kepner; and one grandson, Kenny Daugherty of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Burial will be in the Rothville cemetery, Rothville, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rothville cemetery Association and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

Wilma V. Kash
NEVADA, Mo. — Wilma V. Kash, 87, a seamstress, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Moore cemetery, Nevada. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, Nevada.

Gary W. Pererie, 53, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010
Gary W. Peterie, 53, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died at Hedrick Medical Center on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010.
He was born on March 3, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Allen and Joan (McDonald) Peterie.
He was a 1975 graduate of Wheeling High School.
Gary worked as marketing and ads sales representative for Hillyard Chemical Company for many years. He was also a member of the United States Army from 1976 to 1979. Gary was a member the Chillicothe Elks 656 and was a former member of the Sweet Springs Lions Club.
He is survived by his mother Joan, Trenton, Mo.; four daughters, Kelly Kissick, Chillicothe, Mo., Kasey and husband Tom Doolittle, Trenton, Mo., Kandi Peterie, Chillicothe, Mo., and Kati and fiancé Ryan Bush, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; three brothers, Ricky and wife Dionis Peterie, Trenton, Mo., Johnny Peterie, Trenton, Mo., and Alvin Peterie, Trenton, Mo.; three sisters, Debbie and husband John Sanning, Trenton, Mo., Connie and husband Jim Harvey, Chula, Mo., and Mary and husband Scott Ireland, Meadville, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Gaige and Faith Berryman, Columbia, Mo., Tylor, Tierney, and Seth Doolittle, Trenton, Mo., Kale and Skylar Bush, Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Gavin Cooper, Chillicothe, Mo.; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Allen, his paternal grandparents Ted and Eula Peterie, and maternal grandparents Joe and Mary McDonald.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a scheduled Elks service on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. with the scheduled family visitation to follow after at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Richardson cemetery, Laredo, Mo.

Glennis W. Lasiter
REPUBLIC, Mo. — Glennis Waymond Lasiter, 86, formerly of Jenkins, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003. He was a teacher.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora, Mo. Burial will be in Maple Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Virginia Anne Rivers Wood, 77, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010
Virginia Anne Rivers Wood, 77, of Dawn, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Mo.
Anne Wood was born Feb. 20, 1933 in Columbia, S.C. the daughter of Charles Ross Rivers Sr. and Virginia Nancy Goff Rivers. On Sept. 22, 1956 Anne married her husband of 54 years, Dale Wood in the Park Street Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C. He survives of the home.
She was a graduate of Columbia High School, Columbia, S.C., and graduated from Furman University, Greenville, S.C.
Anne was a home economics teacher for a year in South Carolina and for two years in Kidder, Mo., before becoming a homemaker and raising her family.
Anne was a member of the Dawn Baptist Church and was the pianist there for over 45 years. She was a member of the WMU and very active in all the church’s activities. Anne played the piano each Thursday at Livingston Manor Care Center in Chillicothe. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She was a correspondent for the Constitution-Tribune for many years writing Dawn News.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, listed above; daughter Nancy Russell and husband Steve, Ironton, Mo.; a son, Bryan Wood and wife Wanda, Charleston, S.C.; daughter, Ann Wood, Lake Viking, Mo.; daughter, Melody McAffry and husband Ned, Lake Village, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Blake Russell, Lebanon, Mo., Amy Russell George, Lakenheath RAF, England, Ashley Russell Parker, Blue Springs, Mo., Keith Russell, Ironton, Mo., Ross Wood, Chillicothe, Mo., Terrill Wood, Lake Viking, Mo., Skyler and Kyle McAffry, Lake Village, Ark.; one great granddaughter, Sarah Parker, Blue Springs, Mo.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Charles Ross Rivers Jr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Dawn Baptist Church in Dawn, Mo. Burial will be at Welsh cemetery, Dawn, Mo. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.

ANDERSON, Mo. — Esther L. Perez, 75, a homemaker, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ozark Funeral Home, Anderson. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Memory Lane cemetery, Guymon, Okla.

Doris M. Peters, 87, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010
Doris M. Peters, 87, a resident of Hale, Mo., died in Kansas City, Mo. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010.
She was born the daughter of Charles C. Kavanaugh and Rebbeca E. Dodson on February 26, 1923, in Braymer Mo. She was a 1943 graduate from Braymer High School. On August 1, 1943, she married Ivan Leroy Peters in Braymer, Mo. at the home of Jacp and Millie Schultz.
Doris was the store co-owner with husband Ivan of the Hale Supply and Variety in Hale, Mo. from 1962 until the late 1980s. She was also a member of the Hale Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, canning, quilting, and doing things for others she cared for.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Leroy Peters; one daughter, Kay Guilford and husband Richard of Hale, Mo.; one son, Charles Leroy Peters and wife Sharon and two grandsons, Tyson and Corbin Peters of Fresno, Ca.; two sisters, Ina Trosper of Hamilton, Mo., and Zona (Skip) Dunn and husband Floyd (Jr.) of Hale, Mo.; three grandchildren, Twanette Watson, Sarah Ralls, and Kevin Miller of Hale, Mo.; a niece, Charlette Miller of Hale, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Cece Kavanaugh, Archie Kavanaugh, Francis Kavanaugh, and R.D. Kavanaugh, and one brother-in-law, Dean Trosper.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home in Hale, Mo. There will be a scheduled family visitation at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Mo. on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Friends may call on Friday from noon until 9 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale Mo. Burial will be in Hale cemetery, Hale, Mo.
