Phyllis Stevenson, 91, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011
Phyllis “Stevie” Stevenson, 91, of Chillicothe, Mo., formerly of Wheeling, Mo., died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Livingston Manor in Chillicothe, Mo.
Phyllis was born July 1, 1919 in Milan, Mo., the daughter of James and Clara (Davis) Reger. On April 28, 1940 she married Raymond Arthur Stevenson who preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1989.
Phyllis attended a county grade school and graduated from Milan High School in 1938. She was a caregiver and had worked in the hospital in Chillicothe, in the office of Dr. Roger Fraser in Chillicothe, and at Livingston Manor in Chillicothe.
As a young girl she was a member of the Bairdstown Church near Milan and later became a member of the First Baptist Church in Meadville where she had taught Sunday school, was involved in Women’s Missionary Union and sang in the choir.
Before moving two years ago to Chillicothe from the family farm near Wheeling and Meadville, she enjoyed tending her flowers, and she enjoyed her cats, dogs and peafowl. She especially enjoyed all her family and many friends.
She is survived by four children, Karen Brown and husband Gary, and Annette Stevenson, all of Chillicothe, Mo., Kaye Crim, Edgerton, Kan., and Raymond Fred Stevenson and wife Kathy, Laurie, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca Roggenkamp and husband Don, Oskaloosa, Kan., Clay Anderson and wife Christine, New Caney, Texas, F.M. “Chip” Anderson and wife Stacy, Kingsbury, Texas, Janet Roggenkamp and husband Vernon, Henning, Minn., Jeana Gunn, Edgerton, Kan., Carol Winters and husband David, Ottawa, Kan., Steven Crim, Edgerton, Kan., Kathleen Mallett and husband Bob, Kearney, Mo., Joy Thomas and husband Dr. Rob, Laurie, Mo., Clint Stevenson and wife Angie, Grain Valley, Mo., and Cara Parks and husband Marcus, Cincinnati, Ohio; 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, Mike Brown and wife Lisa and Mark Brown and wife Jan, all of Tina, Mo.; three foster grandchildren, Sherry Varnell, Donna Witherspoon, Vickie Witherspoon, all formerly of Texas; and one nephew and five nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a stillborn son; great-grandson, Drake Davenport; foster daughter, Caroline Josephine “Judy” Miller Lambert; one sister, Kathryn Watson; three brothers, James Ross Reger, Fred B. Reger, and William A. “Bill” Reger; two son-in-laws, Clifford E. Willard and Leo G. Crim; and one nephew, Fred Reger.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meadville, Mo., with Rev. Rex Leppin and Rev. Chuck Greever officiating. Burial will be in Wheeling cemetery, Wheeling, Mo. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the church and the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, Mo.
Memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Max William Hensley, 59, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011
Max William Hensley, 59, a resident of Hamilton, Mo., died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Hospital in Osceola, Neb.
He was born Feb. 18, 1952 in Gallatin, Mo., the son of Troy and Leta Mae (McCollum) Hensley.
He served in the United States Army from May of 1972 to November of 1977, and was a Private Spec 4.
He was an over the road truck driver with L.L.L. Trucking of Brookfield, Mo. Max was a Boy Scout and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Max is survived by two sisters, Jennie Vermillion and Candy Hensley, Hamilton, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Troy Johnson and wife Peggy, Basehor, Kan., Tammy Smith and husband Steaven, Cameron, Mo., and Addisyn Hensley, Hamilton, Mo.; great-nieces and nephews, Kyle, Kaden and Karson Smith, Cameron, Mo., and Tabby, Carlee, Rylee and Peyton Johnson, Basehor, Kan.; and aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe, Mo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at the funeral home. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America or Girl Scouts of America and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

Gale S. Reid, 81, died Saturday, May 7, 2011
Gale S. Reid, 81, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 after complications from pneumonia.
Gale was born July 28, 1929.
He is survived by his sons, Bryan and Brent; grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jody Reid.
Entombment will be in Pomona, Calif.

Virginia Hahn, 90, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011
Virginia Hahn, 90, of Smithville, Mo., formerly of Brookfield, Mo., died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the home of her daughter.
Virginia Lee was born Jan. 20, 1921 in Triplett, Mo., daughter of Carroll “C.G.” and Ruth (Scott) Shull. On Aug. 9, 1942 she married Lloyd Hahn who preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1997.
Virginia was a beautician and owned The Beauty Spot in Brookfield for over 30 years. She was a member of State Beauty Association.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Brookfield, Mo. She was also a member of the Lady Elks Organization, Order of the Eastern Star and had worked with the girl scouts in Brookfield.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Munson and husband David, Warrensburg, Mo., Pam Bechtold and husband John, Smithville, Mo., and Jan Hahn, Higginsville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Stephen Munson, Michelle Rowland, Melissa Goslee, and Nick Thomas; eight great-grandchildren, Patric, Alec, Liam, Carys, Carter, Callee, Cayden, and Kylie; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Eileen McDonough and husband Dick.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, Mo., with Rev. Mike White officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn cemetery in Brookfield, Mo. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials to Lady Elks Organization may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Marvin Lee Berryman, 69, died Monday, May 23, 2011
Marvin Lee Berryman, age 69, of Wheeling, Mo., died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Life Care Center, Brookfield, Mo.
Marvin was born at Amory, Miss., on Feb. 1, 1942 to Grady M. and Genevieve (Edwards) Berryman. He married Leslie Yvonne McKinnis in 1969 and she survives of the home.
Marvin was a 30 year veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife Leslie, Wheeling, Mo.; son, Bobby V. Berryman, Homeland, Calif.; two daughters, Brandalyn Berryman Cox, Cordova, Tenn.; Chondra Berryman Tipton, Wheeling, Mo.; and eight grandchildren, Richard, Jensina, Justin, Doug, Bobbette, Dallas, Elizabeth and Aiden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
No funeral services are planned.

Florence Elizabeth Jeffries, 95, died Saturday, May 21, 2011
Florence Elizabeth Jeffries, 95, a resident of Hale, Mo., died Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Carrollton, Mo.
Florence was born June 20, 1915 near Bosworth, Mo., the daughter of Powell Hill and Rosila May Penrose (Poire) Young. On Jan. 11, 1932 she married Ercil Clayton Jeffries in Hale, Mo. To this union, three sons were born: Ellis Lee, Edwin Lyle, and Darrell Clayton.
She was a member of the Graces Club, a charter member of U.S. Army Mothers Post #40 Hale, Mo., and a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 861 of Hale, Mo.
She is survived by one son, Ellis Lee Jeffries and wife Janice; and one daughter-in-law, Helen Jeffries; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ercil; two sons, Darrell and Edwin; her parents; five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Mo. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friends may call or come by the funeral home on Monday, May 23, 2011 from 12 to 9 p.m. Burial will be held in Hale cemetery, Hale, Mo.

Bobbie Albrecht, 81, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at his home.
He is survived by daughter, Pam Stamper, Kearney, Mo.; sons, Jerry Bob Albrecht, Bakersfield, Calif., and Rick Albrecht, Gallatin, Mo.; brother: Bill Albrecht, Stover, Mo.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at the First Christian Church, Gallatin, Mo. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin, Mo. Burial will be at the Hillcrest cemetery, Gallatin, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the Gallatin First Christian Church, Day Care Fund.

Lois Gregory, 84, a resident of Overland Park, Kan., died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Evergreen Nursing Home in Olathe, Kan.
Lois was born March 20, 1927 in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Charles Albert and Emma Rhoda Williams. She married Earl E. Gregory on June 11, 1946. They lived most of their life in Clinton, Mo., where they were members of the Clinton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Gordon Gregory, Overland Park, Kan.; three granddaughters; sister, Ruth Akerson; and brother, David Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Charles; her husband; her son, Ronald Gregory; brothers, Charles Williams and Joe Williams; and sisters, Helen Haladish and Bonnie Mann.
A graveside service will be held at Mooresville cemetery, Mooresville, Mo., on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11 a.m. Friends may call on Tuesday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

Emma Dell Wallace Melte, 88, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011
Emma Dell Wallace Melte, 88, of Gallatin, Mo., died Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
Emma Dell was born Sept. 26, 1922 in Mayview, Mo., daughter of Jesse Lee and Elsie Mae Wallace. She married USAF Sgt. Thomas Melte June 26, 1951 in Pascagoula, Miss. They settled on a farm in Plymouth, near Braymer, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She graduated from Braymer High School in 1941. After high school she attended Chillicothe Business College and worked in a bank after graduation. Later, she worked in a plant which made B-52’s.
Emma was an active member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.
Emma moved to Gallatin, Mo., and became a member of the Gallatin First Baptist Church. She moved near her youngest daughter in 2008 when her health declined and resided at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Mo. In 2010 she moved back to the Gallatin area and resided at Cameron Rehab until her death.
She is survived by her son, Wally Melte, Overland Park, Kan.; daughter, Norma Curtis, Gallatin, Mo.; daughter, Kimberly Roberts, Bolivar, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Emma Dell was preceded in death by an infant brother, Norman; her parents; husband, Tommy; brother, Lloyd; two infant great-grandchildren, Hannah and Blake Prewitt; and daughter, Glenice Prewitt.
A family visitation will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Braymer, Mo., from 6 to 8 p.m. A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Evergreen cemetery, Braymer, Mo. A celebration of life will be held at the First Baptist Church, Braymer, Mo., on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gallatin First Baptist Church Awana’s Program or the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
